This place is probably the worst Chinese food place around here they used to be the best they've never delivered they don't use GrubHub or Uber or anything you do have to order and go get it but it used to be worth it. Recently I ordered quite a big menu like I usually do like $100 plus. And that's like before tax and tip and whatnot and they will take one item out that's not supposed to be there and leave it in another one that when it's not supposed to be there their food's gone like way downhill with the quality I don't know if anybody's gotten any beef sticks from there recently but they're literally burnt and paper thin like literally no exaggeration paper thin and you're going to pay eight something $9 for not even a sheet of paper worth of meat it's pretty crazy. Since that last order unfortunate for me because I did like them I'm no longer ordering from them anymore. And if you're going to order there for nostalgia you're going to be very disappointed. read more

We love this place for their sweet and sour chicken, crab Rangoons and their egg rolls are my favorite ever. We don't suggest the beef teriyaki, they were very thin and dry. We have been to this place multiple times and price is great. read more

The only reason why this review is not a 1 star is because their fried dumplings are fine. I ordered fried dumplings, General Tsao's Chicken extra spicy, and house special fried rice. The fried dumplings were quite enjoyable, with a nice amount of meat in them. The General Tsao's Chicken tasted like sesame chicken. Nothing about it tasted like it was supposed to be spicy. Even worse, most of the pieces of chicken were overfried, which made it pretty miserable. The house special fried rice was quite terrible. The shrimp tasted old and was starting to smell like fish, meaning it was starting to go bad, and they didn't even bother using deveined shrimp. It really made me question if they had the entire amount of rice just sitting in the fridge for a few days before microwaving it all. Go anywhere else unless you are just craving their fried dumplings. read more

As others have stated, looks can be deceiving. From the outside you may think twice about ordering here, based upon the look of the building. That's a shame, because the food here has always been great. You need to know what you're looking for, and when I say that, I mean that this obviously isn't a Michelin star restaurant. It's a typical local Chinese restaurant that exists all over, however, it is a very good one. The menu will be familiar, and everything has always been hot, fresh, and ready in a timely manner. Add to the great food the fact that the people who work here have always been super pleasant, and welcoming. If you live nearby, definitely order from here. I have yet to be disappointed. read more

My husband and I moved to Moosup two years ago and had Chinese food only 3 times. And today we ordered from China House! And now I know why we avoided this place. It is very sad when you spend 10 dollars on the Shrimp Lo Maine and you only get 5 shrimp. And 10.95$ for a pu pu platter for 2. And only got 8 items. And no shrimp toaste! We should have just given them our money and walked away without anything! read more

From the outside, you'd be scared to go in. From the inside, you might be a bit apprehensive about ordering. The "decor" is...discouraging. But fear not! The *food* is surprisingly good! We've been ordering takeout from here a couple of times a month for the last year, after pretty much avoiding the place for years. I am happy to say that everything we've gotten has been hot, fresh and tasty. I mean...all neighborhood Chinese restaurants have the same menu, right? So the question is: can they make it taste like it was made fresh when you ordered it? This place hits the mark. I have a special weakness for the crab rangoon... You don't want to eat in. The place has a dark, dingy, salmon-pink dining room that looks abandoned. You probably don't even want to wait there. Uncomfortable chairs, dusty window blinds, broken signs, sloppy paint job... The only redeeming quality about this restaurant is that its in town and not a pizza joint. The food is pretty bad - but in a pinch we can get the Sweet and Sour Chicken cause that is pretty hard to mess up. I can deal with their Crab Rangoon's, but they are bland. Their pan fried dumplings are pretty good, I will give them that. The first time we ordered here, we got one of those combo plates and the "beef stick" or teriyaki was so bad that our cat wouldn't even eat it. The Lo Mein was greasy and nothing special. Good food at a decent price. Try the mini pu pu platter, they have four different types, and for a dollar extra you get an order of pork fried rice. Take your food to go, because there's not alot of sitting room. read more

I have come here on several occasions just after work. from home when I'm feeling too lazy to make something. I have to say I have never had a problem with their food. it's always warm always correct and never disgusting. they are always willing to switch out items as far as combination platters go too. personally I'm a big fan of their Singapore noodles house fried rice and dumplings ! my boyfriend likes their boneless spare ribs and also their crab ragons. I've never had to stand around and wait for my food either which I like ! china house is definitely not a bad choice. read more

Not the best Chinese food I've ever had, but it has always been fresh, hot and very tasty. Like others before me have said, their crab rangoons are excellent; they are the best rangoons I've ever had. I've been ordering from here fairly regularly for the last three years and have never had a bad dish. The dining room and overall appearance of the restaurant, as has been mentioned by others, is tacky (every wall is salmon-colored), dingy, and off-putting, so I always call ahead and order to go. It's possible to get decent quality food from China House, but you need to communicate exactly what you want with the kitchen - that's why I prefer placing my order in the restaurant rather than over the phone. Note that the area is a cell phone dead zone, so know exactly what the others back at home want before you head out. This place is geared towards take out orders - although there are dining tables, there is no wait staff. Is this exquisite authentic Chinese food? No! It's just another small town Chinese restaurant. They mostly share the same NYC-based suppliers and serve the same microscopic shrimp. What distinguishes China House is that they're cheap, willing to substitute items and their cooks are accommodating to special instructions. Delicious chinese! The folks there are always friendly! The lo mein is awesome and the crab rangoon is the best I have EVER had.
