the dining area of a chinese restaurant

Wish we had checked reviews on Yelp before stopping by. Too late. Not sure about the past reviews, but the place was moderately clean. Staff seemed disinterested in helping or service. Food was mediocre at best. Usual fare that one can expect from a buffet in the Midwest. Seemed like it had been sitting out there for a little too long. I think there are better options for Chinese food in the Brainerd/Baxter area.

Egg Foo Yuck gravy- gravy coating several layers thick. How many weeks old is this discusting pot been reheated?

Food quality poor. Lots and lots of hard crusty chunks you can't eat in many of the dishes. Worst of all was the Egg Foo Yung gravy in a pot that had gravy crusting over for weeks. Several layers as it appeared. Geeze! Don't you guys care at all? Took a pic but it didn't reach the discusting appearance of all those dried layers of old gravy...

The sign outside said $7.19 for lunch buffet. We're in town for the weekend so thought we'd try it. Food was mediocre at best. We each had buffet & I had pop. We got the check -it was $22.95! I asked manager (who spoke English) and she said "Oh that's Monday-Friday only. Saturday & Sunday it's $9.95!) I paid the tab & took this picture when we left. And also the bottoms of every chair were dusty-gross! We sat next to a window that was dirty, dusty & had dead flies on the ledge. Will never return. Needs a good cleaning and wish we had read reviews before going inside. YUK.

One dinner buffet no additional drinks.

Not a bad joint for buffet Chinese food. There are tons of buffets in Brainerd for whatever reason. This is the best Chinese buffet in town. Has the usual fare to include ice cream machine and some American food. Decent quality and consistent (as I have been a repeat customer). That being said, they play the same two classical songs on repeat! Arg! Service ok. This time around going solo they were reluctant to give me a booth upon request. But I insisted. Big restaurant but they only seat one half. Cheesy Chinese gifts forsake as well if ya are into that shit. Feel free to add me plz!

This was our stack of plates as well as the table in the middle still full of plates for over 45mins.

The food had me feeling sick before we even left. There were 2 large eight-top tables full of dirty dishes when we were sat and the entire 45mins we were there no one cleared those tables. When we finished eating from our own dishes we had to stack them and they sat on our table the whole time we were there as well. We had to flag our "server" down for drink refills. The only reason it got 2 stars instead of 1 was because the price was so low

    The hair in my food.

We spent a night at Brainerd's Holiday Inn Express water park, and had the craving of some Chinese lo mien stuffs for the evening.

My history with this establishment is a masterclass in disappointment, a decade-spanning saga of…read moredishonesty that I feel compelled to share. It began years ago on a Mother's Day, a celebration with my entire family--my wife, our four kids, and my mother. While the rest of us ordered from the menu, my mother opted for the buffet. The meal itself was a preview of the incompetence to come: reheated food with that distinct microwave sogginess and a pervasive smell of harsh chemical cleaner that clung to the takeout containers we requested for leftovers. The most memorable moment was when my youngest, barely a year old, nibbled on one of my mother's buffet donuts, and the owner's son, about seven at the time, ran screaming toward the kitchen--a foreshadowing of the chaos this place inspires. The true spectacle arrived with the bill. Not only had they charged us for our menu items, but they had the audacity to charge all six of us, including the children, for the adult buffet. When questioned, the staff who had perfectly understood our complex order suddenly couldn't speak a word of English. We told them exactly what we thought of their scam by never returning. A decade later, my son, nostalgic for a childhood he's misremembered, begged to celebrate a chess victory there. Reluctantly, I agreed. While he was away from the table, the lady owner accosted me at the booth, demanding to know why we'd been absent for so long. I looked her dead in the eye and said, "It's prime supper time on a Friday night, and you have two customers. We told you we didn't like being ripped off; we told you with our feet." Now, with that son grown and moved out, I made the fatal mistake of giving them one final chance. Some things never change. The food was as mediocre as ever, but the audacity had been refined into an art form. I was billed for sixteen wontons and received a paltry four. When I called to rectify the mistake, the same delivery service they proudly advertise suddenly became unavailable. They can deliver your food, but they can never, ever deliver on their promises. A perfect record of failure spanning ten years is almost impressive. Save your money and your dignity; this is a place that sees customers not as guests, but as marks.
