Made a trip to Grand Rapids from Bemidji today to look at the pretty fall colors before they disappear, and yes we have a New China restaurant in our town that we have not tried, we had heard that people were driving from here all the way to Grand Rapids just to get takeout from New China, don't know if ours was closed for while or what, anywho, wanted to go check this place out. Sooo glad we did, with COVID it's take out not sure about delivery, walked in got our menu then phoned in our order. So we got the general tso's chicken with fried rice and egg roll, then a side order of Singapore chow mei fun (rice noodle), with the noodles and general tso's you can state your heat level, I did not tell them so I had no heat in mine, next time I will ask to add some spicy. Tso's was very flavorful, egg roll was well filled and a very tasty veggie one , hot, flaky and crispy. Fried rice was again so flavorful, which takes me to my rice noodles, Wow, just WOW! One side order could easily be eaten by 3 hungry people, NEVER have I had my rice noodles so full of veggies and meats. ( chicken, pork, shrimp and I think beef. So easy to order by phone or walk in to order, food was placed in nice styrofoam containers with a divider, placed in a heavy paper bag with fortune cookies to stay nice and hot. This was way worth the trip, can't wait to get back and try other things and get more rice noodles for sure.

Solid as always! Lots of Chicken options, and were bringing out fresh food when we got there around 5. Good family dinner.

Good. Best Chinese in town. Staff is nice and keep your drinks full and the table clean. The buffet is good and they keep it stocked.

It wasn't awesome, it wasn't terrible, but it was good. We always order take out and everything was…read moreas ordered, far too much salt and the rice seemed to be older and stale tasting. What flavor that could be tasted besides salt wasn't bad, but the salt was too much to finish our meals.

Look, I really don't want to be harsh, but I have no idea how this restaurant has so many positive…read morereviews AND repeat customers. As an Asian American, there is absolutely NOTHING remotely authentic about this menu, in fact, it reeks a bit of cultural appropriation and borders on offensive. The fact that they use the term "oriental" to describe their cuisine speaks volumes. I ordered an array of items to try, and each one was more disappointing than the previous one. It seemed like the chef just put popular dish items on the menu and then whipped up whatever he/she had back there. At one point, I honestly thought I was being punked...that some of the dishes were a joke. See photos of my food items to judge for yourself. The "chow mein" is especially embarrassing. To add insult to injury, each dish is upwards of $11, and you could pan fry some top ramen noodles that tasted better than these dishes. The entire restaurant staff was Caucasian, including one of the chefs, who I saw come from the kitchen to hand deliver a take-out order. I have a hard time coming to terms with believing that this is what Midwest folks think is Asian cuisine, let alone GOOD Asian cuisine, especially when you have a decent Chinese buffet down the street. I have NO problem with restaurants serving "homemade" food, but don't try to pawn it off as anything remotely "oriental" when you haven't even made a basic attempt to recreate anything with any semblance of Asian flavor. I will say this - the staff was extremely warm and friendly, and the customer service was great. But sadly, that's not enough to get me to return.
