Hungry? Not sure where to get good food? If that's the case, then take it from me, a guy like yourself who searched with despair through the limited dive bar and tavern food options in these north woods for anything that would possibly surprise my tastebuds with the sensation of enjoyment. Good? Okay? Mediocre... my search became desperate and the bar even lower the further out I looked from my location until I came across Chick N Rice. What's that? Pictures of food that look appetizing? It must be too good to be true. It must be AI generated. But I am out of options, so I took the long drive... First came the Lemon Coconut Soup. With one bite, years of bad food experiences that created Up North food PTSD came crashing down... next came the Hot Chicken sandwich. Friends. With delight I would like to inform you, Chick N Rice does not disappoint. They do not settle. Made fresh to order. And with decades old family Recipes made the way they did back in Thailand. My only regret is that I don't live in Brainerd, and to enjoy this delish food requires additional trips back. But I kid you not, if the lakes weren't enough, this food makes it worth the consideration! Enjoy!! read more

Chick N Rice - Two satisfied customers!! - Chicken Shop Near Me - Brainerd, Minnesota

We were looking for comfort food after a long day, and ordered delivery. The delivery took about as long as we expected - given high tide on a Saturday night. My friend had 1/4 chicken & 2 sides. The fries would have been good, but the package wasn't sealed and so the fries were cold. I ordered Chick N Rice, and was surprised to get instead 1/2 chicken. It was delicious chicken. I give them that. Wouldn't have minded receiving the white chicken promised on the menu. The food is good. Perhaps better in person? read more

Fast service, great food every time!!! Love the variety of foods offered. Very reasonable priced!

Came in just before close (they close at 8 PM as opposed to the 8:30 PM time listed) and I am extremely glad I did. Thankfully, the staff was still willing to take my order and the food certainly did not disappoint. The spicy chicken sandwich was one of the best chicken sandwiches I've ever had. The sauce on it had good heat and also some sweetness, similar to Nashville hot but sweeter (and honestly better). The sweet potato fries were also very good. Would've included a picture had I not inhaled the entire meal. It was truly that good! I will certainly be coming back next time I come thru Brainerd! read more

The new chicken curry dish is delicious! Really you can't go wrong with any of the chicken dishes. The chicken is fall-off-the-bone delicious and moist. We also enjoy the corn nuggets. It's so nice to have the variety of dishes to choose from that this place provides. We've never been disappointed in our food! read more

Both of the food and service are amazing. Each time we have visited this location they are very clean and very attentive to your needs. The drinks are fantastic and the chicken is high quality. We went to level 10 heat on their chicken sandwich and we're still impressed with the flavor. It is delicious food but the price is a little high: a family of four will have you at around $90 if everyone gets a drink. read more

Wow. Can't believe this is in Brainerd. Went in for lunch with my gluten free wife. Plenty of gluten free options - most of the menu. It is basically rotisserie chicken with Asian sauces and sides. Everything on my plate was delicious fresh and hot. Isabella, the owner, was just so adorable and accommodating. You order at the front and they bring it to your table. Plenty of seating. I loved it and will be back soon. read more

The salads are amazing! so fresh and full of flavor! Visiting Brainerd and are there twice in one week

We had lunch to go. While waiting for our food, the staff was very friendly. They kept us informed of the status of our food. The beverages, Thai tea and blossom flower lemonade (?) were out of this world. We even sampled the watermelon-mint drink and thought that was excellent, too. Our food we brought home a 20 min drive. It was still hot. The hot chicken sandwich was amazing. And the wrap I had had a great blend of flavors. The sides were good too. The place is cute, clean, and fun. read more

Stopped in yesterday for a quick bite. Had the Chick N Rice (which comes with a cup of soup) and added a side of plantains. The chicken was very flavorful and moist. The dipping sauce really added a lot (not too spicy but watch out for the few big pieces of chile cuz those will take your breath away). The rice was really good. The soup kind of lacked flavor (although the wonton was good) so next time will probably go with the 1/2 chicken with 2 sides and get the rice and plantains because the plantains were so tasty!! The Butterfly pea lemonade is amazing, such a unique flavor. Quick and friendly service. You order at the counter and then pick up your own utensils but they bring your food to you. Highly recommend this new restaurant in historic downtown Brainerd. read more
