My history with this establishment is a masterclass in disappointment, a decade-spanning saga of dishonesty that I feel compelled to share. It began years ago on a Mother's Day, a celebration with my entire family--my wife, our four kids, and my mother. While the rest of us ordered from the menu, my mother opted for the buffet. The meal itself was a preview of the incompetence to come: reheated food with that distinct microwave sogginess and a pervasive smell of harsh chemical cleaner that clung to the takeout containers we requested for leftovers. The most memorable moment was when my youngest, barely a year old, nibbled on one of my mother's buffet donuts, and the owner's son, about seven at the time, ran screaming toward the kitchen--a foreshadowing of the chaos this place inspires. The true spectacle arrived with the bill. Not only had they charged us for our menu items, but they had the audacity to charge all six of us, including the children, for the adult buffet. When questioned, the staff who had perfectly understood our complex order suddenly couldn't speak a word of English. We told them exactly what we thought of their scam by never returning. A decade later, my son, nostalgic for a childhood he's misremembered, begged to celebrate a chess victory there. Reluctantly, I agreed. While he was away from the table, the lady owner accosted me at the booth, demanding to know why we'd been absent for so long. I looked her dead in the eye and said, "It's prime supper time on a Friday night, and you have two customers. We told you we didn't like being ripped off; we told you with our feet." Now, with that son grown and moved out, I made the fatal mistake of giving them one final chance. Some things never change. The food was as mediocre as ever, but the audacity had been refined into an art form. I was billed for sixteen wontons and received a paltry four. When I called to rectify the mistake, the same delivery service they proudly advertise suddenly became unavailable. They can deliver your food, but they can never, ever deliver on their promises. A perfect record of failure spanning ten years is almost impressive. Save your money and your dignity; this is a place that sees customers not as guests, but as marks. read more

Was very impressed with take out order. And was very reasonably priced for the amount each of the order provided.

Run of the mill fried food. The fried rice was terrible. The egg rolls were fine and the fortune cookie was stale. I was excited to try this place but I won't go back. It looked like Chinese food you would warm up in a microwave after buying it from the frozen food section of a gas station. read more

Very friendly! Just moved to the area will definitely be there often ! Recommend forsure! read more

Ming Dynasty - the entrance to a chinese restaurant - Chinese Near Me - Long Prairie, Minnesota

Fantastic fresh Asian food. Take out only. If you are in the area you have to give this place a try!

I've been in long Prairie for a little over a year and today was my first time trying Ming Dynasty. Boy was I missing out. Will definitely be making this one of my regular choices for dining out. Food and service were boy great! read more

The best Chinese food I ever ate! Just perfect! Great service! Take out only for the time being but the food is worth the price! Thank you!!

A true Gem in the Prairie. As good as any Asian food as I've had in the Twin Cities. The cream cheese wontons are to die for. Wonderfully tasty flavors for each item in the most excellent buffet (and I never do buffets!) I hope the locals appreciate that they have a truly excellent Chinese restaurant in a most unlikely location. A must whenever I pass through anywhere near Long Prairie. read more

Ming Dynasty - Always immaculate and beat as a pin. - Chinese Near Me - Long Prairie, Minnesota

We called to get delivery to Sauk Center since they are listed on Yelp as delivering here. But the woman said the guy is too busy and they dont deliver to Sauk Centre. I asked what it would take if we could even do frequent orders for our community home and she again "he is too busy" read more

I tried this place for the first time a few weeks back when a coworker ordered food and brought some in for us to try and it was great! I tried the won ton and it was literally the best I've ever had perfect amount of cream cheese most places overdue it with the cream cheese. The owners are also great too very nice. They even deliver as far as to browerville! read more

Awesome Chinese food and very friendly staff. I've eaten at this restaurant for years and haven't had better Chinese take out. Buffet has enough options to want you going back up for another plate. I've seen the buffet options rotate on different visits so there's always going to be a variety. Ordering take out is my preferred choice as I know the food is cooked fresh. Whether you are dining in or picking up, you can tell each meal this restaurant prepares is cooked with skill. As much as I enjoy Chinese food no matter where I go. I always seem to have the most consistently delicious meals here. read more

I agree with the previous reviewer. Though the selection is not nearly as great as some of the mega-buffets around, any Chinese aficionado knows that the secret is in the family receipes, not the variety. The husband/cook here really knows how to flavor his stuff well and the wife who runs the front of the shop is both kind and helpful. The lunch buffet cannot be beat for both price and quality and anyone passing through town will be in for a treat if they're craving Chinese food. read more

Good Grief when visiting or passing thru Long Prairie make sure to eat at Ming Dynasty restaurant! It is excellent. I had a spicy chicken meal. It was prepared differently from what I'm accustomed to, and I liked it. It was extremely good. Note that I eat take-out Chinese food once per week, every week, in Twin Cities area. Thus I'm quite familiar with Chinese cuisine. read more

While we don't get there as often as we would like, I would agree that the flavor of the food is fabulous, and service is great!

One of our favorite go to places when we don't want to cook. The food is always good and hot. Most times we have it delivered. The owners are the best. I don't even have to tell them my address he remembered after the first delivery. I honestly don't even give my name I just say "Megan's mom"! If your carving dumplings this is the place to call, does matter steamed or fried they're the BEST anywhere!! read more
