It's my Mom's favorite, she gets their Wonton Soup twice a week, so when I came to visit her, I went to pick some up for her. To my sweet surprise, the Yelp check-in gave you 2 eggrolls with a $25 order. The place looked poplular, so I decided to add on to her soup and got the Orange chicken for me, fried rice and noodles for Dad. As the nice girl started to spoon in the glistening crunchy chicken pieces into a small Chinese to go box it looked so good. The lady after me placed her Double order of Orange chicken to go. Hmmmm..... I quickly changed my order to a double before the fresh batch got swept away from under me. Yay! I made my $25 order for my free eggrolls. When I got to the register, I realized it was a CASH ONLY restaurant. Luckily, Mom gave me a $20 bill, I paid, mouth salivating, and stomach growling, I jumped in my car to hurry home. I could already hear my Mom's sticky white rice cooking, ready to have the chicken poured over it, and mixed with noodles. When I got home table was set, plates and bowls ready for the hot steamy WonTon soup, As I started to pour the chicken out I popped a piece in my mouth... WOW!!! I am a definitely a fan of China Express! My family and I always stop by here whenever we feel like having Chinese on the weekdays; if it were during the weekend we'd hit up Chinatown instead. There is very limited parking, so we normally park in the red right in front because they get us in and out really quick. The family that owns the restaurant is very nice and always rewards their regulars by filling their orders to the rim. The only downside to China Express is that they only accept cash. The food is pretty decent for being in the heart of Sylmar. The prices are more than reasonable. The service is quick and they even offer to make fresh batches of food when their running low. I gave China Express "3 stars" because I want my yelpers to know that the food is a-okk but definitely a great substitute when you want to stay in the area. Suggestions I would suggest grabbing a whole order of orange chicken and cooking up your own steamed rice at home; It's an easy solution when you are running late to cook dinner and low on funds. Food: Always get the half and half with double orange chicken and I'd be a happy little camper. The orange chicken is different from most places, it has a crunchy outside and that's what makes it good. They pack the containers with a lot of food, usually have some leftover for lunch the next day. Ordered catering here a couple times and they also packed the trays full of food. One tray can easily feed 12 people. Service: Usual fast Chinese food service. Point at what you want and they pay for it and you are out the door. Some seating in the place if you so wish to eat there. Keep in mind that its cash only and with a drink the combo will run you a little less than $10. Location: Inside a big plaza with plenty of parking so you need not worry about that. Be a little careful if you are here when it's dark. Some shady characters come out around that time. read more

My wife told me that her co-workers get lunch from here and it may have gotten better so I gave it a second chance. To make the story short we bought ourselves each a combo. I got spare ribs w/ black bean sauce and orange chicken. Maybe I should have followed my first instinct and should have just gone to the Popeye's Chicken next door. I might have enjoyed that more. The orange chicken was meh. Too bready and was more like sweet and sour except orange in color. The ribs were cold and tasteless. I tried eating it because we already paid for it but it's not even worth the effort. The fried rice was just as tasteless. And the price was not really cheap. I could've gone to Panda Express, paid a dollar more and enjoyed it. I looked around and not a Chinese was in sight except for the cashier. Save yourselves some trouble and don't even come here. Just moved to San Fernando and went here over the week. I'm a big fan of Chinese food, especially the Americanized kind. With this being just a block away from my house I was extremely excited that I'd have a place to eat at least once a week. I checked it out on yelp and noticed they had a Check-In Offer, Check-In and get an egg roll. So I made my order and when I got to the register the cashier told the check-ins are only for orders for $25 above. Well it didn't say anything about that on the Check-In. Did she make that up on the spot? I decided not to make a fuss and just get my food and go. I pull out my credit and she tells me cash only. I let out a big sigh, and just walk out. I'm not sure why restaurants choose to do business with cash only. We live in the 21st century. I understand credit cards take a small cut but here's the thing. I would be eating there at least once a week, at least. That's quite a good chunk of money lost because they'd rather evade taxes. A few of my Co-workers have ordered here a couple times and it always looked so delicious. Decided to stop by earlier today and ordered the orange chicken and BBQ PORK with half and half! Everything was spot on as I expected except for 2 things. Now I get businesses are struggling but for you regulars next time you go, pay attention to the orange chicken, some of it isn't even orange chicken just bread balls, I'm assuming they are trying to stretch product‍ chicken is cheap cmon another thing is the noodles were a little crunchy in some areas. Not wanting to pay $10 for chinese food at panda express in six flags, we went on yelp and China express came up. We were greeted by a young lady right when we came in. The food looked fresh. It's sweet and crunchy on the outside, juicy on the inside. The flavor of it is something I crave often!! The portions are HUGE too! I get double orange chicken and they pile it so high the box hardly closes. And I suggest getting half and half. Just from seeing the line of people that showed up while I was there I knew they knew that they get busy at this time so why would they not have their selections filled and ready to roll? It sucks searching Yelp for somewhere to get good chinese food and once you find a place that has an average of 4 stars, it registers at a 2 on my taste buds. The food was over seasoned and I'm sad to say Panda Express serves better tasting chinese food. The pot stickers were soggy and the teriyaki chicken had a bunch of tendons still attached.
