My boyfriend and I came here for a nice little lunch date, and we had such a great experience! We did the all-you-can-eat option, which even came with complimentary poke nachos to start. The best part was definitely the dessert--the all-you-can-eat includes deep-fried ice cream, and it was honestly the best deep-fried ice cream I've ever had! This place used to be spectacular. A must have spot for fresh sushi and poki. But for the last year, it has been anything but that. I ordered a medium bowl that costed nearly $20+ just for me to receive cucumbers and edamame sides that were spoiled and rancid. Had to spit out my food due to the vile taste. Other than the cucumber and edemame the food was okay. Definitely it worth the premium price they have it at. I don't know if there has been a change of ownership or something, but regardless, the food is terrible. The ambiance is still the same, but the service is honestly sad. I'm not sure if it was the owner or the manager at the register, but I was overcharged by five dollars. Whether it was a mistake or an attempt to make up for lost revenue, I honestly don't know. Decided to give this place a second chance today after the first time the salmon felt rancid. The reason I like this place is the spicy lemon flavor which I think they know is a favorite. The time I went there when the salmon was rancid, the owner came out and was upset at how much his employee had given me in the first place, so gave me an extra small bowl in exchange for the one he had given me before. He then proceeded to shame me for as many sauces as I got on the Poké bowl and said how can I taste the fish with so many sauces. I have never been treated that way and have had lots of sushi and sashimi in my life. Nothing tasted quite as bad as that salmon. He then proceeded to take a bite of the raw salmon in my face and see how delicious it was. I decided to give it another chance today as I didn't wanna drive far from home and really wanted some poke. Upon arrival he was weird as ever and looked me in the eyes as he gave me the smallest portions I've ever seen. I think he may have remembered who I am, but from the looks of the reviews, this is the nature of this place. Small portions and rancid food. I went home ate the bowl and felt so disappointed at how flavorless and how very little food and sauce and toppings he gave me. It's a small location, but it is very accessible and they are very nice and helpful when entering the restaurant. The cooks are also very quick and made sure everyone got served fast especially on the dinner rush. it's a perfect location with parking if you need a good quick bite with quality food and some coffee after for fuel. I was missing several toppings. I didn't get any dried toppings or crab meat and seaweed salad (was ordering Uber Eats) definitely not worth almost $25 for a mediocre bowl! Ample time to make the trek. It's in a small strip mall next to Starbucks. Inside is very clean. You can not only get poke bowls but also burrito, nachos and even cut rolls too. I opted for the medium bowl which was $17.95 and you get 3 proteins. I got two salmon and one scallops. Filled it up with the usual sides, toppings and brown rice. Was very filling. Also used the yelp check in deal for a free drink and got the strawberry drink. Was delicious. The white rice was HARD and stuck together. The cucumber they used was probably old because there was a few of the slices I ate that tasted bitter and old. Costumer service was friendly, even they could see the horrible state of the food and apologized. How embarrassing for the owner to know that their own employees agreed to the quality of food being poor. Their food is reasonably priced (considering Mid-2022 inflation we are going through). Cool drinks such as watermelon lemonade, their choices of fish was limited compared to some other places that we have been to but their Spicy is really good if you like spicy fish (tuna & salmon). Their staff is young and fast, polite and patient, explaining everything in detail. Good Service Why 4 star ? Absolutely love the spot. A great new addition to the San Fernando area. I've been here twice and the food has been on point each time. The first time I came with my friend and we ordered a bunch of items which we devoured. The second time my husband and I came and we ordered a few rolls from their new sushi menu. The cucumber roll is healthy and delicious. A good option for people and not wanting the carbs from the rice.It has crab, tuna, salmon, and avocado inside with jalapeño on top as well as ponzu yuzu. The poke nachos were really good! Their california roll is awesome! I love how it came out on a California shaped board. This is the first time I've ever seen that and it is a great concept. Definitely add some flair so I will give it to them for that. The service both times that we've gone has always been fantastic everyone there is super friendly and I also like how you can order from their iPads instead of waiting in line. Their sauces are really good and their house made lemonades are delicious. The regular lemonade by far is the best in my opinion. Overall Pokitomás is a one-of-a-kind poké and sushi restaurant with a Hispanic twist! They have fresh fish and mix-in ingredients, signature sauces, and house made lemonades.
