Visited Saturday (sept 16) @ approx 6 pm. Big parking shared w/ other establishments. Upon entering greeted. Small establishment. 1 waitress. Music playing loud. We were seated within 10 minutes. We arrived just after 3 big parties/ 10 people per table. We ordered & food arrived approx 30 minutes later. Food good. Issue is employee making sushi rolls he kept turning up the music. We could not even talk. I ended up with a headache. What worse once song was done he lowered next music then he liked next music then blast music. 5 stars for phenomenal waitress. Been a while since I came in here for a late bit o sushi. The place wasn't packed as it was well past dinner time. So I sat at the bar with my wife and we ordered some drinks and a couple of rolls. From past experiences we knew that the rolls were quite hefty and filling so two would do the job. Terri was our server and Mike was standing behind the bar. Our rolls were ordered at the same time as a table right behind us and the chef made a roll for them then for us and another two rolls for them and then our second. He was very good about keeping the food coming out at a decent rate. Made each with care and decorated our snacks like a fantastic host of a morning show would. The rolls are a little thicker than I remember. I like a mouthful, or at least a sushi piece that can fit thereabouts but these were definitely 2 bite-ers like no way I was going to fit these suckers in my beak without some serious Dizzy Gillespie cheeks the rolls are about as big as I remember but the slices definitely gained some girth. Those slices could pump iron at Muscle Beach, these portions were juiced and had trainers aiming to make them professional body builders. Aside from making Arnold Schwarzenegger proud they could have used some liposuction. But I won't complain about large portions, I'm just thankful you get the bang your bucks deserve here. Ordered online through Uber Eats. Feeding a family of 5. *important detail Selected sushi, tuna roll, miso soups, and chicken fried rice. Uber guy gets here and asks if the restaurant reached out? I said no, why? He says they didn't have everything so my order is incomplete. Open everything up and there are only 4 pieces of sushi. We got the rice, tiny tuna roll and miso soups but the majority of our order was the sushi. No call, no text, no notification via Uber Eats, I would have happily asked them to sub other sushi in so my freaking FAMILY COULD EAT. Called them and they said they were busy which is why they didn't call. We've ordered from them countless times since living in Sylmar the last 10 years. Never again. I used to like them because they were like the fast food of sushi, cheap but not the best. Now they are just as expensive as legit sushi houses yet have inferior product and terrible (lack of) customer service. read more

Sushi, Sake, and Karaoke. That's the holy trinity in what I call a great night. The venue is very cozy. The ceviche roll was amazing and Tom was a great KJ. The sound system sounded amazing and we were blessed with a lot of friendly faces and great voices. Would definitely attend again. read more

Different Prices Than What The Menu Says This place has great rolls. They are always quick with the service. Initially I was going to order takeout though Yelp, but decided to dine in. That's when I saw the price difference. The prices for online takeout (same items) we're less $$ than what the dine in menu. Upon receiving the check the prices on the bill were even more than what was listed on the menu. It was at least $10 difference on the bill, which is not an issue but at least be consistent throughout. Needless to say I would order again, but definitely take out. read more

This is a fairly new sushi place in Sylmar. I had no idea it existed, until a friend of mine mentioned it... it's right next to an Italian restaurant (Caruso's) that I have been going to for many many years and I never noticed or heard much about Rok N' sushi. Apparently both restaurants are owned by the same person. It's a small sushi place but they have a variety of options besides sushi. So i came here years ago and wasn't too fond of the place. Today after many years I decided to give it another shot and was reminded why I wasn't too crazy about this place years ago. Their fish was way too "fishy" for my liking. You can tell it's not the best quality or even standard fish being served. Sylmar does not have many sushi places. I really want a good and quality restaurant to exist here. While dining in at Rok N Sushi the service isn't too great. It's overpriced and quality is mediocre. The sushi is very overpriced for the quality. Take an extra drive to granada hills or canyon country for better options. read more

Slowest workers ever I made an online order that was supposed to be ready in 30 minutes, I went 30 minutes later and waited an hour. The place was empty and only had 1 couple eating. The chef was talking to that one couple the whole time instead of doing something, and the other worker was just mopping the floors as if no one was making any food. Our go-to sushi spot in the area for dining in and take out. Everyone we know loves the food and we've collectively tried several of their dishes over the last few years - including their vegetarian options. This place does it right, I always get this on fridays and recently found out they have fried rice, but omg they make there fried rice with love I never tasted rice so good from a business before highly recommend and it's funny because it's just rice !! So I called in an order today and it was 3 things. I was originally going to order through door dash but door dash doesn't give the cash option. So I went ahead and I called it in. When I arrived they were charging me 10 dollars more than door dash was and I said why so much if door dash says something else. The right thing to do was honor the price because if I would have just paid through door dash I would've paid 10 dollars less. The girl was rude. She said the app hasn't updated. Again that is not my fault it's not fair that everyone ordering through the app pays 10 dollars less and everyone else doing a phone order pays 10 dollars more. Then I obviously didn't tip after them not honoring the price and after the rude lady and she grunted when I gave her the receipt back.
