Overpriced, missing items, extremely long wait While visiting this food truck at a food truck venue called What The Truck, I ordered one item (NY steak and shrimp combo) which I was told comes with fried rice and veggies. I ordered the meat to be cooked medium. I waited well over an hour for my food, and was never informed about an extremely long wait. Everyone that ordered around me waited this long if not longer. Have tried this food truck in a few different locations and they all are consistently delicious and pricey. Hibachi style rice dishes with vegetables and your choice of meat, including filet mignon and lobster. Yumm yum yum is what I have to say. Ají Teppanyaki is one of my favorite hibachi trucks. I first tried them when they had a brick and mortar in reseda but they closed it down sigh but I'm glad they have the truck here in Sylmar and it's honestly closer to me. I love that everything is freshly made to order and is super flavorful. I always get the chicken plate with fried rice as well as the New York steak combo plate. Don't sleep on the fried rice it's amazing. I always order garlic butter on the side and it's quite tasty. Last minute random food stop, the quoted wait time was 20min for a chicken and steak plate but it was ready sooner. They also had a 2 dish deal for $40 bucks even which was cool. Steak quality was great. Fried rice was delicious. The chicken was also very good but I'd do steak and try the shrimp next time. Veggies were also cooked just right; not over or under cooked. Well the whole expierence is just not possible when trying to watch the show from the sidewalk, but the food was what you would expect from a high end Teppanyaki resturant, but so was the prices. The quality of the food was good, and cooked well. Flavors were also pretty good, though I thought the beef lacked some real flavor.
