I was trying to be impartial when I chose to try this place. I read a few reviews about the food being bland and unfortunately I have to agree. I think it's because they must not use a lot of oil in their food which isn't necessarily a bad thing. My food has to have deep flavor or it's not good to me. I ordered the beef with vegetables. The beef tasted very good, the broccoli was decent, but the bamboo shoots tasted funny. Almost expired lol to be nice. The other vegetables were fine. The sauce was very thin and it was messy. She told me the sauce was like the sauce in broccoli beef. It probably would have been better with soy sauce, but I don't eat it because it's salty. The sweet and sour chicken and orange chicken were okay. I probably won't go back because I'm not a huge Chinese fan in the first place. I only went Bc my son wanted it. I think if your want to have Chinese, honestly you need to pay a little more and go to an authentic place and get better food. Tried China Chef for the first time. We had the crab Rangoon, lemon chicken and beef and broccoli. Delicious! Lots of food too. Three adults shared this and we have plenty for leftovers. The gal who took my order was sweet and picking up was a breeze. The only thing with the lemon chicken is I might try to see if i can just get white meat , not a fan of dark meat. We will be back! Never even knew this place existed until some friends of mine that frequent here suggested coming here. The restaurant looks like it's stuck in the '70s and our waitress was interesting. They have a pretty huge selection of food which is pretty typical for a Chinese place. I chose the Schezuan Chicken plate and you have the option of choosing how spice you want the dish ranging from 1-5, I chose 4 which for me wasn't very spicy at all. I wouldn't necessarily agree with some of the reviewers saying the food was bland but I would say it was just average. I would actually recommend Shanghai over this any day even though this is so close to my house. Don't think I'll be returning for just average food. read more

Great place. You get alot of food for your money. The orange chicken is very good and the egg drop soup is the best I have had anywhere. If you choose to dine in its a nuce clean restaurant with good service. If you decided to take out they are quick. They also have delivery. Which one day I will try out their delivery. What awesome customer service & delicious food. I am in Texas and my sister lives in Clovis, and loves their Wonton Soup. My sister had been going thru Chemo treatment for the last 4 months & today was her last Chemo treatment. I wanted to surprise her with some of their yummy soup. We decided to try this place because of the great Yelp reviews and it didn't disappoint. Very friendly over the phone when I called for take out and in person. They were fast, reasonable, tons of food and the food was excellent! The crab Rangoon was the best we've ever had. Super creamy and fresh. My husband ordered the pork chow mein noodles and said it was tender and not dry like most pork dishes at Chinese restaurants. I had the shrimp chow mein noodles and they were fresh and they don't skimp on the shrimp. My husband also had the orange chicken and said it was full of flavor and very tender. They ask what level of spice you like 0-10 which is nice. The pork fried rice was delicious and the pan fried noodles were bomb! We will definitely be going back soon. read more

The General Tao's Chicken is delicious. I got the dinner special that came with chow mein and egg roll and hot and sour soup. I paid under $9 and couldn't even finish everything. The place was clean and we were immediately greeted. Nothing to really complain about. It's just inconvenient that they are closed Monday's, but from my understanding it's a cultural thing? We had a family birth celebration last night and purchased the family dinners on takeout of course due to Covid . I ordered Broccoli Chicken and it came with won ton soup, chow mein and an egg roll. My husband ordered General Tsao's Chicken. They asked him how spicy he wanted it from 0-5. It came with a soup, steamed rice and an egg roll. Our daughter ordered House Noodle Soup. The bowl was filled to the brim and very very tasty. Lots of veggies, shrimp, beef and of course...Noodles! My family loves this place! It is never busy so we feel comfortable bringing our young children with us. The young, female server who seems to always be there is kind and friendly. The prices are great and the food is very tasty. We love the pork fried rice, wonton soup, and kung pao chicken (last time we got it at spicy level of 2 which was barely spicy & perfect for our kids but I recommend going up if you like heat). The portion is huge but it's not even edible, it tastes like they made the food that had something burnt in the pan. Or burnt the oil. This place is the absolute best in Clovis/Fresno. My family had tried four different Chinese food restaurants before this one, looking to find more authentic tasting food that resembled that of China town, and this one was it. Their customer service is phenomenal. The young lady behind the counter really is just sweet and outgoing. I would recommend the Mongolian beef, the fried rice, chow neon, and the war won ton soup. That's our usual order, and it tastes great. I saw that they offered delivery with a $20 minimum charge which is awesome since you can't find a lot of restaurant that deliver, aside from pizza.
