Took my 9yr old out for lunch in a Wednesday and it cost $35 for us to eat old dry rubbery bland and toxic tasting food. It's been awhile since I've been here and the food was way better. WOW, 1st time here, and expected the typical buffet. For the price, this was the best..food was plenty, everything was hot and fresh, no stale or weird tasting food. At the time of writing this review, this place is now open for in-person dining with all of their standard buffet options available. You can also order from this place on DoorDash and Uber Eats but their menu is not as expansive (not even close) as their in-restaurant buffet options. Their portion size for orders placed on Uber Eats and DoorDash is amazingly worth the price! For what you get the price and portion sizing is definitely cheaper than Panda Express for sure! You have to know what to order from here and having eaten at 5-star Chinese restaurants in major cities around the country and growing up in an Asian community outside of LA, though I understand what "great" actually is, I also understand that that level is just not going to be found in Walla Walla. That said, you're going to find dishes like orange chicken great here--possibly even better and definitely cheaper than Panda Express. Their lo-mein and rice noodle dishes are as basic as it can come--very bland--but not horrible by any means (a little soy sauce should do the trick!). Their black pepper chicken is just OK. If nothing else the tator tots made my young daughter happy - but to pay $5 for a kids meal that considered of tator tots and soft serve? Not worth it! A decent Chinese buffet with the standard items done with some expertise like broccoli beef, hot and sour soup, and a variety of seafood dishes on the weekend. It even has a limited selection of basic sushi like California rolls. One thing there, they do the sushi rice pretty well with the right kind of rice and seasoning. There is a pretty good variety of items from fried items, soups, seafood, beef dishes, chicken dishes, veggie dishes and even a good assortment of desserts! Something for everyone. Waitstaff is pretty good too but only get your drinks and bill since it's a buffet. As I understand it, they can get you a particular dish off the menu but I rarely do that since their selection is so good. They do keep the various items full and hot (or cold as needed) so I've rarely seen them run out of something. A good choice for a Sunday buffet IMHO. read more

I am giving this restaurant 4 stars because of a few differing factors... #1 If you have kids, this is obviously the place to go. They have a buffet! My kids LOVE the many choices of delectables they have to enjoy; there is the popular aquarium that pretty much every child gravitates to while they're at the restaurant (hence the "do not touch" sign attached on the outside of the aquarium); there is also a little water feature that my children find incredibly fascinating to look at/beg to throw pennies into as we are paying for the meal. #2 If you go on Sunday's, you might even be pleasantly surprised at the variety of food that you, an adult, may enjoy! I have been to this establishment on several different days of the week, and, by far their freshest and best is served on Sundays. It is their busiest day, and they do keep their food hot and ready best on Sunday. That said, you may wonder what these folks serve up at their Chinese buffet, and truly they have a remarkable amount of Chinese food, (stir-fry vegetables, lots of varieties of fried up chicken in different sauces, wontons, egg rolls, spring rolls, egg drop soup, fried rice, steamed rice, sweet and sour pork, at least one type of seafood that is not generally eaten in Walla Walla etc etc) as well as the typical nasty pizza and chicken nuggets for the Picky eater, child or adult. Not to mention a surprising variety of sushi, and then other items I can't even remember. Also, another "winner" with the children is they have soft serve ice cream, jello, cookies, and generally some other kinds of desserts to please the sweet tooth in most. #3 Finally although the atmosphere here is a little wanting, I'd say they keep the place clean enough that I can forgive them, and trust them not to be spreading any food-born illnesses to myself or kids. Honestly, this place is not date night quality, but it is definitely family friendly, and a place my kids get so excited to "get" to go to that it makes me wonder.
