We have been going here for years, even before thy moved downtown. The food is always good, no matter what we have ordered. We had tried nearly everything on the menu. Service is usually timely unless they get a bunch or orders but any place is like that. I wish they had dine in but I can understand the price of doing business. Oh my goodness! I'm looking at these reviews.. we been trying to find our new Thai spot in town for awhile since soy 71 sadly shut down but we had a date night, went to the movies and thought it would be great because we wanted take out anyways and go home. The food stayed hot and it was a 10 min drive back home and we didn't eat till 20- mins after being home and the food was still very hot. I got the yakisoba and pud Thai, very good! The flavor was there, the only thing we would say is we will order it with some spice because it was missing that. It was very good tho! The front lady was so lovely! We walked around for a bit then waited. The older guy was so sweet! Talked to us for a bit. You can tell they try so hard and the food was just great. We waited for 30-45 mins but we didn't mind what so ever. Please understand if you're in a hurry to get something fast to eat, this isn't the place for you but order in time. I am so sad this place was so disappointing. It's take out only, which was fine for us even though we had to wait an hour for our food. The ingredients tasted fresh but every dish was ruined by the insane amount of salt used. We couldn't even eat the papaya salad and had to throw it out. I wish I had known this place was takeout only. A group of us, just visiting Walla Walla for a short trip, were hoping to have a nice dinner out. While we walked away from another Thai take-out only restaurant the night before, we decided we were going to have Thai this night no matter what. We were told it would be ready in about an hour, which was almost enough to ditch that idea, but we pushed on. After placing our order, my dad drove us back to our hotel just a mile or two away. We asked the staff if we could have our takeout in the dining area and they were like, "Of course! Sit anywhere you want!" They were so nice at the Courtyard. Anyway, an hour passes and my dad and Spazz pick up our order. I read another reviewer say they had the best drunken noodles, so while it's not my usual dish, I decided to try it. It was the best I've ever had as well. My teen was so happy to have mango fried rice and loved that it had raisins in it. I wonder if someone somehow switched him for another baby in the hospital because mango and raisins sound horrific to me. Once more, everyone seemed to love their food. I go out to dinner to SIT DOWN, have someone take my order, relax and eat, not to haul it home. I wish the buffet in town would not have closed, though I get it. After eating here again, I will add one more star. Though I still think rivaling Phoumy's Thai restaurant across town is still better in terms of taste, Soi71 (mentioned in my previous review) recently closed down, and at times, you don't want to go all the way across town making this place the go-to spot. I noticed that this place usually has a shorter wait time than Phoumy's. Their Panang Curry is definitely worth a try here if you like spicy food. I recommend it with tofu, but ordering it with chicken is also delicious! While I harped on their Pad Thai before, I have tried it again and still think it isn't as good as Phoumy's across town, but they definitely give you a larger portion than Phoumy's (almost double!) so.... it is what it is! Their pad Thai is by no means bad, but, not anything to write home about either. Their fresh salad rolls here are HUGE and good. The people who work there are super nice. I got there only to find that the dining room was closed, that was the first piece a little frustrating since I don't live there I was there for work. I was not a huge fan of the food it was ok but not great. I had garlic chicken. The chicken is fried and then coated in sauce. While the sauce is good the chicken is over cooked and dry tell tale of double fry technique and that just doesn't work with thin slices of breaded chicken. I get that it takes less time to cook it a second time but chicken is unforgiving and once it's dry there is nothing to save it. It would be better to stop breading the chicken use the sauce and add a few veggies that would be pretty good. I'm not likely to return to this location. They have absolutely delicious food here at a reasonable price! My family visited from California and gave their stamp of approval too. They don't hold back with their spices so even if you say "medium" expect a kick! My go-to is red curry with chicken and it's excellent every time. VEGAN REVIEW! We were looking for something filling and satisfying to finish off the night and Thai is always an easy pick! Thai Ploy was walking distance to our hotel so we walked over and placed an order to go. We had: -- Drunken Noodles with Vegetables // This was maybe the best order of Drunken Noodles I've ever had! It was super saucy and flavorful not like other places when I ask to make it vegan. The vegetables were cooked perfectly. The only thing was I think there could have been more veggies but it was a good portion overall. -- Green Curry with Vegetables // This curry was spicy which I love but not overly hot! It came with white rice and was overall just a solid green curry. It was a little thin but still very delicious! -- Vegetable Fried Spring Roll // Perfectly fried and the classic filling of cabbage and glass noodles was excellent! Fresh and delicious. The dipping sauce was light and vinegar forward. Overall I'm so glad we stopped by Thai Ploy for our dinner. Our order took a while but the cashier let me know that it would when I ordered (since they had just done a large order before us). We were able to walk around the corner and get a glass of wine while we waited. Our food was hot and fresh once it was ready! I love Pad Thai noodles, but sometimes you want to try something different. My choice was the pad woonsen (crystal rice noodles--their special #8) and this dish was excellent. You know that kinda sweet taste to a pad thai noodle dish? Well, the pad woonsen S8 does not have that taste at all. Solid goodness. I did have the vegetable version, which had perfectly cooked veggies with a special sauce that was really so yummy! However, the seat of the booth (I noticed that mine was not the only booth that had this issue) was not solid at all, being held together with some duct tape. At least it was green tape in the spirit of the season, I guess. I'd highly suggest that the owners invest a little $$ in the booths because the food is yummy! read more

Sometimes it is time for Thai and it was that time. This establishment has not changed much in the past ten or so years. The decor remains traditionally Thai and the tables and booths always are in the same position. Unfortunately, everything is beginning to have that run down feeling. The only high point of this restaurant is the food which is always excellent. If you can ignore the shabby decor, you will enjoy an excellent meal. What a sweet place. The people are so nice. I had the Avocado Garden Rolls with fresh vegetables and chunks of avocado in rice wrapper, served with peanut sauce. Oh so fresh and tasty. Then I had vegan Pad Thai with tofu and fresh vegetables with rice noodles, bean sprouts, green onion, topped with crushed peanuts but no fish sauce. Nice place for quick Thai food. I enjoyed the lunch special here Thai Ploy Pad Kahuan with Tofu. Lunch special four mini spring rolls, rice, and the entree for under $9. The value was solid and certainly beats some fast options. There was a bit of a rush when I sat down, but the server was extremely efficient. The people running the show were also very kind and attentive. The food came out almost immediately after I ordered. Props for workday lunch skills. The food itself was pretty good, but didn't quite have that flavor burst that makes Thai food so great. As far as bang for your buck goes, this seems to be a great place to grab Thai food on a lunch break. read more

I am from out of town and saw this place on Yelp so I decided to try it. From the moment I walked in I was given attitude by the lady at the cash register when I asked her for a menu to order. She kept staring down the hall way and hardly answering my questions. Since they are "to go only" I wasn't able to check my food until I got back to my hotel room. Also my food was "liquidy" and the bottom of the to go bag was liquid everywhere, it spilled out of the container. When I open my #30, it is COVERED in a layer of dry red chili flakes, just completely covered like they dumped the bottle on it. I tried to skim it off as best I could and it was everywhere in my food. I ate a few bites and threw it away. I looked at the top and it said "XXX". I had clearly asked for "medium" The spring rolls are cold and oily. Very disappointed in the cold & oily spring rolls, the extremely hot & inedible #30, and very poor customer service. read more

Hit and miss. The lunch specials are a pretty good value. The food is mediocre and pretty heavily processed. Dinner entrees are overpriced and poorly executed. Anything that is a Thai staple is a decent bet for at least passable quality (noodles, rice, curries). But order a soup or a salad and your taking your money in your hands. I got a beef salad that was honestly horrid. I ate the i over cooked beef off the top but couldn't stomach too many of the wide slices of raw white onion floating in a literal soup of vinegar dressing (at least a full cup, see pic). Sick. Salad rolls are good as is peanut sauce. Nothing is delicate or carefully prepared. Thick plastic sheeting over tables feels and looks unsanitary and poorly cleaned. Try Phoumy's across town and you'll be happier. read more

Beautiful inside. Authentic Thai ambiance. The cook (lady) was very nice and friendly, feels like she's my mom. She helped us with figuring out what to order. If I live close by, I would come back here. Just the atmosphere is so relaxing and homey and the people were very nice! We ordered Pad Thai and Crab Fried Rice for myself and my husband ordered "Two Brothers" and they were all good! I was craving for a Pad Thai because I saw one review where they say it's good. But when I looked at the menu, I also saw the Crab Fried Rice which I've had before in another place and I've always loved it. So I had to order both. Wow! And they are both awesome. My husband thought the "Two Brothers" was good, and he is quite a picky eater. I'm glad we ate here. I didn't expect it to be that good of a Thai place for a small town. After I ordered, she threw the menu on the table and sprayed it super loud. I understand it's COVID time, but your website didn't tell me that I cannot go into the restaurant to order take out. While the food itself has always been delicious, I have sanitary issues with Thai Ploy. The first time I found hair in my food, I understood that it was an honest mistake and I didn't hesitate to return. But when I found hair in my food again, I questioned whether I would ever return. A year later, I return hoping that the meal would be hair free but much to my dismay I found hair a THIRD time and now I will never return. Okay, so for starters... When you pull up to the entrance, do not be fooled by it's appearance. My husband and I almost were, and I'm SO glad we Yelped this little gem of a restaurant! The food is excellent, and once you walk IN-side, it looks like the authentic Thai restaurant that you'd expect from a place with such good ratings! The service is friendly and prompt, and did I mention the prices are good too? The serving sizes are large (I boxed half of my dish and ate it for lunch next day) and they cleverly give you "heat" options for your meal; mild, medium and HOT peppers to add to your dish is available for the asking. I've traveled to Thailand and lived in major cities for years, so I'm pretty discerning about Thai food. I was super nervous when moving to Walla Walla that I'd be kissing decent Thai goodbye. Not so! Thai Ploy is great. Their curries are delicious and not over-saturated, the pad thai is light and not greasy, and the prices are great. The lunch specials are an especially good deal, and I plan on wearing a path to their door. The only minor letdown was that the 'spicy' items I got had no discernible spice to them. I'd bet that's just the chef catering to typical small-town American palates though; next time I'm in, I'm gonna tell them to really light it up and let me have it. read more

My fellow diner and I had heard some great reviews about Thai Ploy, and we were less than impressed with the other Thai eatery in Walla Walla, so we were hoping for a pretty good experience. Unfortunately, that's not what we received. As we walked in, we could see that the restaurant was very empty for a Saturday evening, but we were still made to wait for a table to be cleaned. The waiter promptly brought us ice water. Unfortunately, my glass was riddled with lipstick around the entire rim. The waiter made no excuses and replaced it. First off, the menu is HUGE. While that's nice for options, it makes it hard to choose, and the waiter was less than helpful with answering what kind of veggies were in particular dishes and did not offer to find out. He simply said he didn't know and left it at that. We're both big fans of Tom Kha soup so we ordered that along with chicken satay, Pad Thai and another dish that the name escapes me, but it sounded delicious. Our food came out in record time, which is strange if they're making food to order. The soup tasted like the meat had gone bad. They took it back without question and stated that the "chef" said it tasted off as well. Is it not common practice to taste your food before it goes out to the diner? Apperently not. Next, the chicken satay was OK, but nothing to write home about for the $9 being charged for the four small portions it came with. My meal of the Pad Thai was extremely gummy, but had lots of meat which was a plus. I asked for cilantro to be added, but it was simply piled on the side, still on the stem. Last, my co-diner's meal was so full of ginger it was nearly inedible. Sadly, we both left with a bad taste in our mouth (literally), and were set back $40+ even with the soup being removed from our bill. We won't be back. read more

Was there end of August for a short visit to wine country. Walked in and was a bit apprehensive about getting quality food, as it looked a little run down. BUT! To my surprise, it was one of the best Thai food dishes I've had in a while. I ordered the pas see iew, with chicken. Not only were the noodles cooked perfectly and the sauce was on point, but there was a good amount of chicken and veggies too! Plus! A good sized portion which made great leftovers for the next day. I read the other reviews and thought well, the food mostly gets good reviews even if the service is slow. So since it was close to my accommodation I'd give it a try. Service was quick and efficient, the waitress was great. The food though ..... Thai ice tea was the sweetest I have ever had, sickly sweet. Three kings was bland, and I don't understand why people rave about the fresh avocado rolls. I didn't finish anything and when they asked if I would like a box ...... This place was the only place that can accommodate my large group of 14 adults. As every other restaurant we were looking for were so booked, and we couldn't get in. We went there, and got sat immediately! Their service was pretty quick, but their food wasn't all that great, as it caters mostly to the Caucasian pallet, and it's not all that great. The fried rice was sticky and somewhat blend, as their Thai tea were extremely sweet! Well, you get what you ordered, especially on large group orders.
