The crab Rangoon are always piping hot and so flavorful. Not just some cream cheese but the real thing. The shrimp egg rolls had the flavor of actual shrimp and included a lot of huge shrimp! Like falling out the egg rolls amount of shrimp. The regular egg roll is also fresh and deliciously filled with veg. I don't even like Lo Mein but I do here. My neice is a Lo Mein connoisseur and she loves it here and said it's the best she has ever had. I agree....it is deeeeeeelicous. The lunch special is until 3pm and includes the main, choice of egg roll or 2 Rangoon, with pork fried rice. There is so much protein / meat in their dishes. They do not skimp on anything here. It is such a value for lunch price AND dinner prices. I love food and I love it here!! The fact that they are super nice makes this even a better experience. I am writing this review solely based upon their General Tso's chicken. A couple of things make it stand out from most other Chinese places: 1. The chicken. The fried pieces of chicken are lightly battered, tender, and juicy. Most places are almost all breading and very chewy. Not here. 2. The sauce. I asked for spicy and it came SPICY. Very nice. 3. The fried rice is some of the best you'll find in town from a fast food Chinese place. It actually tastes like fried rice and has a pleasant wok-hei char going on. 4. They include a small egg roll AND a drink with your lunch special which as of 11/2023 is $7.99 plus tax. This little spot is our go to Sunday evening Chinese meal. Friendly little family owned business that is always tasty no matter what choice you make. Mike always gets sweet-and-sour chicken and I tend to lean towards the extra spicy meals they will spice it up for you if you ask. It was lunch and I wanted something different and not big on fast food. I called in the Bourbon Chicken lunch special which comes with pork fried rice and your choice of wontons or an egg roll and it was great! Inside has some seating but not for big groups, it was very clean and the staff was nice. They have a cooler as well with coke products but not a variety of the drinks and I'm not big on soda so I skipped, my food was actually a portion for two and very inexpensive, I paid 7.50 total and they made sure I had 10.50 worth of food! I wish they would have cut the chicken and vegetables in a more bite size. I will be going back to try something different! read more

Chinese food that never fails! My older sis introduced my parents to this place after one of our favorite Chinese restaurants closed. We've been loyal customers for years! The guy on the phone used to know our order well but he has since left, I think. He would sometimes throw in these really tasty curry spring rolls for free. My parents are creatures of habit so we usually get fried rice, lo mein, chicken with broccoli, and Szechuan chicken. We've had general tso's before as well as sesame chicken and cashew chicken. We've also tried regular spring rolls and crab Rangoon. Tastes great! I will add that the chicken with broccoli and Szechuan taste almost the same, except Szechuan has more veggies and a slight kick. Still good and a great price! Parking is easy. We always find a spot right in front. Not sure how popular this place is but I usually see people coming in and out for carry out. Took a leap of faith trying a new place and I'm so glad that I did. I ordered the lunch shrimp lo mein and I swear it ranks top two best that I've had in Louisville. This used to be really good but our most recent takeout on Sunday evening 11/26 was not good at all. Chicken Lo Mein had 3 tiny slivers of chicken. This China One restaurant is one of the good ones. Although neither the location, nor the interior are much to look at, the service is friendly and fast, the food well prepared, it's hot and tasty, and comes in good sized portions. I wouldn't bring a date here unless I wanted to impress her with my frugality. However, it was perfect for an affordable quick dinner for our family of six (including 4 big teenagers). We ordered general Tso's chicken, double cooked pork, hot and spicy shrimp, bourbon chicken and shrimp fried rice. The dishes all came with white rice too. Including three drinks (water from the pitcher is free btw), our total came to $53 (before tip) and we still had leftovers for a light lunch the next day. You can't beat that! Judging from the steady flow of people getting takeout, I would say they are doing things right. We have been for lunch there too in the past and their combos are a great deal. The food was really good American Chinese food. Best egg roll I've ever had, crab rangoons were more than just cream cheese (decently good), and the chow main was my husbands and my favorite part- really good flavor. We got orange chicken and it was very orangey which we liked. It was maybe fried a little too long, but other than that, it was great too. I had the best takeout from China 1 this weekend. They closed for a few months during quarantine, but just reopened. They have installed a plexiglass window with a box for your payment and a box to pick up your food and they have hand sanitizer available. All of the employees were wearing gloves and masks as well. We got chicken and broccoli, war shu gai, and crab rangoon. It was some of the best war shu gai I have had in a while and the crab rangoon had a perfectly thin crispy shell and good flavor. This is my favorite Chinese takeout restaurant in Louisville. All of their food is fresh and they have menu items to please all diets and appetites. My go-to order is a batch of garlic broccoli, General Tso's bean curd, and a large hot and sour soup with no mushrooms or chicken. My very specific soup is always made within 10 minutes of placing the order and is scorching hot when I pick it up. The entrees come with a side of white rice and the vegetables are always hot and crisp, not soggy like other Chinese takeout spots. I can always tell they were cooked especially for my order. This amount of food comes to around $20 and feeds me for at least 4 decently sized meals. 10/10 I recommend this place to anyone who enjoys classic Chinese takeout and a large meal that doesn't break the bank. read more

I am so mad at every review that proceeds mine. I ordered the mixed vegetable combo for 6.95 with pork fried rice and it was greasy, the rice was slightly over cooked and I think there were only two pieces of pork throughout the whole thing. Talk about disappointed. I am thankful that I was starving because I have never taken food back to a take out Chinese store. It wasnt awful as in it could be consumed but I wouldn't do it again. I've eaten Asian food my whole life and this place is horrible. I ordered the roast pork chow mein and shrimp toast. The shrimp toast was deep fried so horribly long that it had extra grease crust on it that it wasn't edible. There wasn't any filling in it either. The roast pork chow mein didn't have any noodles in it. It was nothing but onions, celery, and shredded pork. The sauce was so bland.
