Crab Rangoon
Barbara C.

This is our favorite Chinese restaurant! It's in the food court at the Jefferson mall. The value for the money is great! The food is fresh and the service is great. If you're in the area and you want fast, fresh, good Chinese food. I HIGHLY recommend. They have the best crab Rangoon's I've had, and I have tried A LOT of restaurants.

Good, affordable Chinese food. Quick service and if you're in the mall or nearby, this is a great place to stop by but it's the most popular in the food court so prepare for a long line.

The local legend of "sample sample" Chinese food. Literally the only reason to go to the Jefferson mall anymore. Big portions and great prices. My favorite noodles by far. Also huge fan of jalapeño chicken.

Always fresh! So much food for the best price! One of the best in Louisville! Clean, friendly, hands down a good deal and very very tasty!!! They are following all COVID-19 recommendations!

$5.99 one meat and two sides YOU CAN'T BEAT THAT DEAL and the plate is so big my husband and I always split it and get plenty full. We love the peking chicken rice and noodles and my daughter gets a side of noodles and can eat on it at least twice. They have a nice selection of different meats and vegetables and the crab ragoon is super yummy. We love to come here for a cheap quick meal.

I was out and about shopping at Jefferson mall with my Daughter. We decided to have something to eat and wanted something that we could share. Max orient was the perfect option. They had a daily special that ran $5.79 and included one meat and two sides. The portions were outrageous. We ordered orange chicken, noodles and green beans. Everything was so fresh and hot. The orange chicken was crispy and very saucy on the outside and hot and juicy on the inside. The noodles were a little plain but still satisfying. The green beans were lightly seasoned and still had a nice crunch to them. As I mentioned we shared the meal, we were hitch stuffed and we still had leftovers!!! If you are out shopping at Jefferson mall and are looking for a cheap quick bite I would highly recommend max orient.

Typical mall Chinese style food. But probably the best of any mall Chinese style food I've had, which isn't say a lot.

Just not good at all. Inferior ingredients. Food had no flavor. Egg roll was soggy. Rice was sticky. Not good at all.

Just last week I visited the Michelin Bib Gourmet recommended Sichuan restaurant in Memphis and trust me this one is even better than that. The menu starts with a stereotypical american Chinese menu but pass those pages and you will the real deal - the authentic Sichuan menu is so well curated. Each dish looks tempting. The Sichuan cucumber salad and Sichuan jelly were so refreshing. Dont miss the dry hotpot section; highly recommend!! The drinks menu is limited to bottles beers and soft drinks. I will surely go back next time!

Since we've been roadtripping through TN and KY for the past week, it was so nice to eat some authentic Chinese food while traveling through Louisville. Can't believe this place exists in Louisville of all places!! Spectacular.

Family dinners are available as well. I enjoyed my flavorful wonton soup, ate plenty of sweet and sour chicken, took bites of the Mongolian beef, and sampled most of the dishes around the table. I realize now that I didn't snap photos of everything! Service was attentive and friendly. Plenty of parking. I'm excited to return with my family.

I will never come back to this place…read more Let me start by saying I used to love this restaurant. It was one of our favorite. But now, it's on our list to never eat here again. It started with me placing an online order. This is new on their website while I was looking at the menu. I figured this would be best than calling the restaurant. How I was so wrong. I placed it with a 30 minute window. Ordered at 4:44 to be pick up at 5:14pm. I showed up to the restaurant at 5:03pm. There was about 4 other people at the counter. One person just placed their order, another person said her mom called to place the order but wasn't sure when it would be ready. They told everyone 20 min. I showed my ordered and they were going to be me 20 minute. I said I placed my order 20 minutes ago. Ok so I waited... Another lady came in and said that she placed her order around the same time online. Her order number was 140 and she had a long receipt with quite a lot of items. My order was 148, somehow. By the time I asked what's going on with my order at 5:15, they said they go by the order number and they're on 138. I don't think they processed my order until I arrived at 5:03pm. It took until 5:39pm before I receive the order in my hand. I only had very few items, one of which was an order for combination lo mein, plain mantou, shrimp tofu and wonton noodle soup. Mind blowing because I paid $50. The online system also charge a $1 fee, which I did not know about until I saw the receipt. Which would had been fine if my order was done in the time it was promised. Now, the staff was not the most friendly either... the person that handed me the bag almost dropped it because she put it in my hand, didn't say a word and turned and walked away. They cannot be any more rude than that. I was sweating profusely and shaking while waiting for a very long time while I am pregnant and nauseous. Now here's the review for the food. It was not good. We have had some on and off with their food and we haven't been back for a while so I wanted to give them another chance. But their lo mein was soo salty, and they used pad thai noodles. The wonton noodle soup was small container, so bland, literally no flavors, and the wonton tasted so bad. They put really hot tofu that was deep fried in styrofoam container that it put a hole through the container. So my paper bag was soaked and wet within the 6 minutes drive home. The mantou was so tiny for $4.5. Not worth it. All in all, the 4 items that I ordered did not worth the $50 for almost an hour wait, not worth my time or money. I wouldn't have eaten the food if I didn't already paid. Had I not already paid online, I would just had left.

Recently though, I wound up throwing out my hunan chicken. It actually tasted of plastic or chemicals. Maybe it was just so steaming hot when it went into the plastic tupperware? I have gotten the veggie egg foo young a few times and enjoyed it, though the gravy sauce has a tiny but of a licorice taste so use that in moderation! This particular time, the veggies were so bland and tasted more like water. Definitely missed seasoning. I'm not sure, but when it comes to take-out, I prefer something a bit more consistent. Overall, a fine spot with great prices for portion size.

There were a couple of high top stools at the counter at the window, facing the street but really not a dine in restaurant. The gentlemen who took our order was kind. Only took about 10 minutes to prepare our vegetable stir fry that came with fried or white rice. We opted for the white rice. It was still plenty hot when we got it home and more than enough for the 2 of us. The veggies wete fresh and crisp, not over cooked. Yhere was brocolli, carrots, snow peas, pretty sure cucumbers, bok choy and celery in a tasty brown sauce. And ample rice. Great good, price and servive.
