The service was good and patient as I was new to this restaurant. This is a good place to go if you are looking for a takeout or sit-down Chinese meal. It is in the same plaza as Kroger and near Walmart so you could get a bite to eat while shopping. The service was very good and food prepared efficiently. I especially liked the crab rangoon. I thought the egg roll that came with my lunch special could be better seasoned as could be the War Su Gai I got. However, the lunch special which is offered Monday through Saturday has a good sized entree that includes fried rice and an egg roll and is affordably priced. Plus, my significant other, who is a picky eater, liked the War Su Gai and found it to be a good lunch treat. So all in all, it was a good dining experience. read more

The food is OK. They just put seafood and everything and everybody is not a seafood person. Most of the item shouldn't even have what it has in them especially if it just rice with chicken and shrimp or beef. That's my only problem. I'm sorry, but I'm gonna be honest. Food tasted terrible. I ordered a beef fried rice and I guess I expected more. Food was tasteless, and it looked like I only was given three small pieces of beef sliced up in even smaller pieces. No soy sauce was given and the ambiance was sketchy. I enjoy dragons and I definitely enjoy doubling my dragons. This makes me think of the Nintendo game back in the day Double Dragons. However that game was much better than this food. Now all that being said this is just like every other Chinese joint get you some General Tso's chicken with a little bit of rice and it's good to go but it is a 3 out of 5 for me because it isn't quite up to my favorite place Max Orient which is a 5 but Double Dragon Chinese food is decent. It is nothing that I would go out of my way to get but I would give it another shot if I had too. I did not like the rice that came with it. The rice had onions in it and I do not like onions. Our go to for Chinese, Double Dragon never fails to deliver quality food. We often call ahead and pick up take up on the way home. They feature a lunch special of many favorites but you can order an unadvertised dinner version as well. DD gives nice portions for the prices. Just wish they were open on Tuesdays. read more

Maybe the best casual Chinese I have had. Service was fast, prices for lunch are a great bargain and taste was excellent. I'd even drive a few miles out of the way to give this place a shot. Unfortunately this restaurant is the closest American Chinese place to my house so I order from here semi frequently. Don't ask me why because the food is mediocre at best. I used to go to Hunan Wok until they changed owners and now the food is just as mediocre if not worse than Double Dragon. The fried dumplings and Crab Rangoon here are decent but nothing to write home about. Unfortunately they're the only thing I really like to eat here. Every entree I've tried here has just been...blah and their fried rice is unappetizingly yellow and never tastes very good. I always end up throwing the rest away which I never used to do with Chinese food. Anyway, my advice would unfortunately be to drive an extra ten minutes down the road and visit China 1 in Buechel Bypass next to Kroger. Their food is 100% better. Alas, I am still craving really good egg drop soup. :( I'm in love with Egg Drop Soup that is loaded with delicious mushrooms, chives, and shrimp. Unfortunately their soup here is pretty run-of-the-mill, boring egg drop soup: yellow gelatinous goo w floating "egg whites". I liked the shrimp fried rice because it had nice-sized shrimp. They have some of the best General Tso's chicken and the fried dumplings are awesome! Located in a shopping center near the Fern Creek Kroger, Double Dragon is one of the two fast food Chinese places near my home. I've never dined in here because honestly the place is so basic in their decor that it's almost a bit depressing. The seating usually is occupied by customers waiting for their carryout order as such is always my case. The place however shines in their customer service skills and in their quick meal preparedness even on a busy Christmas Day. Food portions are large as in most Chinese food places but the quality of the food is usually better than most of the other fast food place I've visited. The Crab Rangoon is probably my least favorite from this place because of the minimal amount of crab flavored cream cheese that it contains. Other than that item though, I've never had anything else I've been disappointed with. After my recent good experience at this place, I'll probably keep coming to Double Dragon whenever I'm near the house and want my fix of good tasting Chinese food. read more
