First off I waited over 40 mins for just one combo of food and I was fine with the waiting tho. I got an orange chicken dinner combo with lo mein noodles. I ate all the orange chicken and then found multiple long hairs in my lo mein. I dug in to the first bite and mixed around with the sauce and pulled out a two long hairs. I have been told for YEARS that Hing Wang has the best crab rangoon & some of the best Chinese food in New Albany. So I finally decided to order some take out for my birthday with my mom. The crab rangoon is delicious! If you love cream cheese, you will love this. The amount of crab rangoon that is deep fried in the wonton is more than most restaurants give. Our food was good! We had no complaints. But I definitely think I'll ask for a higher spicy level on my szechuan chicken next time. read more

I've never had a problem until tonight. So I order my food, they deliver it and my order is wrong. When I called to let them know the lady that answered the phone was rude disrespectful, loud, and just unprofessional. Try to tell me my order was not wrong, but it was And due to that I will never order from them again. My wife and I have not eaten in or carry out here for a few years. We found a different Chinese restaurant that we like a little better. We'll... the Chinese restaurant we wanted carry out tonight is closed because they are transitioning to a different location. So we chose to embrace Hing Wang tonight. (Our daughter and granddaughter love it!!) I got Chicken w/Mixed Veggies (broccoli, carrot, onion, mushroom, little cobs) w/ a light brown sauce. My wife got bourbon chicken (deliciousness). Both combos came with pork fried rice and an egg roll. I also tagged on an order of crab Rangoon. There were 8 of them!! This food was all delicious!! I keep forgetting to take pictures to post with my review!! Sorry!! I will also say, my wife and I only ate 1/2 of our entree. LUNCH!! Told bill with tax was $27.45. But got four meals. We could've certainly eaten all of it, but chose to eat half to have a 2nd delicious meal for each of us!! 4 star is for the website lacking accuracy and unclear menu options that are available!! read more

Reasons for star value....on delivered order. Pros:. Large portions, fresh ingredients, fast service. The fried shrimp are much better than I have gotten at some seafood restaurants. Cons: Must have $12 before delivery, sometimes the person who answers the phone is very difficult to understand, no napkins or utensils were provided. All the Chinese restaurants in Jeffersonville are closed on Mondays so I had to drive to New Albany to Hing Wang's. I thought they moved to the old Dairy Queen spot but they have not moved yet because they need wait staff and cashier. She mentioned that it's hard to find people right now. As for all the food I ordered...it was excellent! Love the amount of meat that put in the portions. Everything was perfect and as I ordered it. I may even have to go there instead of China Taste. The food tasted so much fresher. I will excited to see the new facility open. read more

We tried this restaurant tonight with high hopes on a friend's recommendation. The food was pretty good for a place with counter service. The steamed dumplings were a little bland, but the crab Rangoon was good. Skip the fried rice. The $2.50 up charge for "fried rice" was simply yellow instead of white. No complaints on the beef and shrimp hunan. Shrimp were tender! General Tao though was just sweet and not spicy at all. Why only 3 stars? The fruit flies. Fruit flies everywhere. Flying all over the food. We ended up packing up and going home. Yuck. I get it that it happens- even in my own kitchen. But when i commented the girl said it was because they shut down the kitchen and put up the food so they all came to the dining room and so now I'm not concerned about whether there was cat in my Chinese food, but how many fruit flies I ingested. I highly recommend the owners get a bug guy soon! Otherwise, clean, and as you'd expect for counter service Chinese food. read more

I was charged a couple hidden fees. My total came to $18.35 with all of the fees. I signed my charge slip for $18.35 at 4:18PM on 09/29/2022. When I checked my bank account today, I have been charged $19.42 and an additional $2.41. They put more charges on my card after I had left the restaurant! And......after I signed for $18.35. We've eaten here twice (we just moved to New Albany). We were so pleasantly surprised! Everything was great. Our favs are chicken on a stick (probably the best I've had), Singapore Mei Fun, bourbon chicken and the almond cookies. The sesame chicken and beef lo main were great too. I called in my order and not only did they charge me a price that was not on the menu, the charge they put through on my card was different then what I was suppose to pay. They added tip in when I specifically took off the tip and took the receipt back because they were horrible. I told them I wanted my money back. So not only are they liars they steal your money too! I order bourbon chicken with vegetables instead of rice. I didn't think that there would be an issue because there were multiple items with chicken that had vegetables as a side and were $2-3 dollars less than the expensive bourbon chicken I asked for. A boy that must have been under ten years old took my order over the phone and never told me that I could not get vegetables. When I went to pick up my order, no one greeted me. Even though they were standing at the front, they did not say anything to me. Once I let them know I was hear to pick up my order, they continued to stare at me without speaking. Once my order was finished the man brought it and put it on the counter and gave me the receipt. I tipped $2 and then checked my meal. I had fried rice and not vegetables. After ten minutes of me trying to explain that I ordered vegetables and not fried rice. They told me that they only have on meal with vegetables as a side and that I would have to pay $6 for them... At this point, I am still being extremely nice. I understand they have trouble with English but I'm beginning to realize they have a HUGE problem with customer service as well. I showed the American working and the lady who was screaming at me for NO reason the menu with chicken items that were even less than mine and had vegetables. Again, at this point I was being VERY VERY understanding and just asking them to please make it right. She refused to make a side of vegetables. At this point, I said that I was upset because they were not handling their paying customer with care and that they needed to make this situation right. I was the paying customer and I did nothing wrong! Other than give this horrible restaurant a shot. They refused to help me or make it right so I marked out my tip and refused to pay for the food that I did not order. They are refusing to refund my money and when I called them they screamed at me and wouldn't even let me speak. This is a horrible establishment and the customer service is devastating. If your order is messed up because of THEM they refuse to fix the problem THEY created!!!!! AND 10 year old boy who took it who shouldn't even be working..... I will NEVER GO BACK!!!!!! read more

I've been on a General Tso's Chicken kick here lately and I travel often for work. I have tried it in lots of different places, but so far Hing Wangs has my attention when I'm in Clarksville working. I am not from California not sure Why Yelp thinks so. Decided to order take out so I called in and was told 10-15 minutes. Chinese food is not that good here in Southern Indiana and I found them as 1 of the 2 I found acceptable since moving here. I have had take out at least 5 times before here with no issues. I arrived 15 minutes after calling and my order was not ready, fine. However people are walking in and placing order and getting food before me, I notice on the counter where they bag orders is my large hot and sour soup sitting there. Finally I speak up and ask when do I get my order and the response from both ladies at the counter is what I ordered is "Special" and takes longer. I ordered Double Cooked Pork, Egg Roll and Shredded pork with Garlic Sauce. NONE ARE SPECIAL so they must of assumed I am an idiot. Finally after waiting 20 minutes I get my food. Everything was freshly made since they made a error they would not admit, it was very warm, the HOT & SOUR SOUP was lukewarm/cold. When I got home (5 min drive) Hot & Sour was not only cold it tasted gross and I threw it away, (maybe it is meant to eat warm, but it was mostly chopped carrots and water). The rest of the order was as expected. Bottom line - NEVER AGAIN , One thing I don't like is being treated like an idiot. (not that I'm not sometimes ). I told them I was disappointed and was told we are doing our best. NEVER AGAIN I said as I left. You just lost a customer. All they needed to do was tell me they made an error and they are making it now and made sure the soup was hot. THEY DID NOT. They don't care about customers and it was obvious by their attitude. This restaurant does take out the right way during the pandemic. You order, park in a numbered spot and they bring your order. The even run your card for you without you having to leave your vehicle. We ordered crab sticks, Kung pao chicken combo with Lo mien, and hot and spicy beef all was hot and delicious and we waited maybe ten minutes. How do you forget half the order? Then they just dropped it off on our front porch and left. We paid by credit card and they didn't even give a receipt to sign or one to even know our total. Prices are great. Service was fast. I went with spicy shrimp w/ vegetables and steamed rice. Portions are very generous and you will not leave hungry. Lunch was $5.25 which was a great value. Taste was good taking into consideration price. I do not believe they offer free iced water and they wanted to charge over a dollar. Honestly I'm not sure if this was due to cashier thinking I ordered a bottle water. Either way I told them I would drink water I had in car. Spicy shrimp had just right amount of heat and plenty of condiments are available. One pet peeve I have is clean windows and the windows were not clean. In fact they were very smudged and dirty. Tables could have been a little cleaner especially since I was the only one eating in restaurant and two people were playing video games. This place is my go-to for carry out, and it's consistently great! I really enjoy the shrimp with broccoli - veggies and rice always cooked to perfection. This is definitely a carry-out place, not much in the way of ambience. But the service is fast and friendly! My whole family's dinner was ready only 15 minutes after we called. Last thing - I saw someone mentioned that they had trouble understanding someone while trying to order. I personally have never had any trouble at this place. Of course many of the staff speak with an accent, but it has never been a problem in my experience there. I just moved here from Chicago and was craving Chinese food and was told about this place. I tried it out as it was closest. First off - they have like a 13 year old kid taking orders and working. As far as I know, this isn't legal. He and every other person who worked the counter taking orders were very rude and impatient and acted like they have better things to do than their JOBS apparently. Second - when they got my order wrong, they acted like I was inconveniencing THEM by asking them to fix it. They wanted to just drain the meal of the incorrect sauce and put the correct sauce on (... I told them no. I wanted a new meal because the wrong sauce was already on the food.) They rolled their eyes at me, turned around and yelled out with a heavy sigh "SHE WANTS IT NEW." and I heard a bunch of angry yelling in their language and dirty looks thrown my way in response to that.
