We ordered the chicken and broccoli with white rice and three (3) egg rolls. We sadly didn't enjoy the food. It didn't taste like chicken. The meat was too soft and mushy. We were looking for a place to have lunch. It was shortly after 2:00 and a restaurant down the street would not honor their lunch time menu so we came here. We asked the young man at the counter if we could order off the lunch menu. He said he would have to check with his dad(the owner). He came back and said yes it was ok to order off the lunch menu. we placed an order for Szechuan Chicken and my wife ordered Chicken with Vegetables. Both came with fried rice and egg rolls. the orders were placed in a paper bag and then in a carry plastic bag. The owner even came out to say thank you and asked us to come again. When we got home our food was hot and delicious. This will now be our #1 go to place for Chinese food. read more

This was our first visit to China King and we were excited with our orders. We ordered the lunch servings of Kung pao chicken, general Tao's chicken and bourbon chicken. We ordered extra egg rolls, steamed dumplings, and crab Rangoon, which came with one of our meals and all were delicious. We will definitely be returning! read more

Pretty much run of the mill. We ordered 3 different dishes - General Tso Chicken, Sesame Chicken, and Orange Chicken. All three were basically the same chicken dish with the exact same sauce, except for some hot spice on Tso, sesame seeds on Sesame, and more orange flavoring for the Orange. Oily and unflavored. The veg fried rice was so oily that I was able to spoon the oil out of the corners of the dish. The "hot and sour" soup is just egg drop with a few things thrown in. In the midst of COVID, restaurants have had to make many adjustments and accommodations. China King has definitely taken on this challenge! Not only have they built a wall to close off their dining room but they have also added a slide out tray for payments and a drop box for the meals. Really good Chinese food that was fresh and flavorful! Had szechuan chicken, chicken fried rice, sweet and sour chicken, egg rolls and crab rangoons. Chicken was tender in a nice umami sauce (not super sweet) and vegetables were cooked perfect. The breading on the sweet and sour chicken was crisp but not greasy. Egg rolls were crisp throughout ( no gummy wonton insides here!) and had a yummy moist filling. Crab Rangoon were crisp too but could use a little more crab flavor. This is the best we have had around the Louisville area. We will make the drive to here next time we want Chinese food. Can't wait for leftovers today! read more

The pricing for the China King's online menu is misleading. The Dinner for Two meal is listed as $21 but the actual price is $25. They wouldn't honor the online price. The online menu says that the meal comes with General Tso and Beef and Broccoli, but when we received our order I received Kung Pao Chicken instead of General Tso. When I tried to ask for an exchange, the woman claimed that my wife ordered Kung Pao Chicken, but my wife knows I love General Tso, but there was no convincing the worker that the customer is always right. China king is my favorite Chinese restaurant to date. I've probably been about 50 times since they have been open. Sai and her family are extremely welcoming and always have a smile on their face! The prices are great and food is always hot and delicious. Can we talk about their crab Rangoon?? THE BEST!!! I also love their Mongolian beef and general tso's chicken meal. I'm not sure why this place gets erratic reviews. I have always loved this place. The food is very good and plentiful. This is the only carry out place that I know of where the hot and sour soup has chicken in it and not just tofu. The rangoons are huge too! Im not writing this review to hurt a business. I have experience a lot better chinese. Now some things on the menu are ok. From my experience when I lived in Crestwood the food was adequate. The fried rice that comes with combination platters is not that good at all. The appetizers are pretty good, especially the egg rolls and fried wontons. The egg drop soup here is fantastic. This is where the place shines. When I was at the restaurant I noticed there were younger adults working in the kitchen. I can only assume that they had little experience and were overworked. I placed a lunch order for my co-worker and I explained on the phone no rice with food. I had the person on the phone repeat my order. When I went to pick it up, the very rude teenager behind the counter informed me that they had put rice in our food and they would NOT re-make the order. He then told me I could "pick out the rice" myself and kept asking why I didn't want the rice. Does it matter?? NO! He then got into an argument with another employee over our food not being prepared the way I requested and explained to me again that I could pick the rice out myself. Small family owned Chinese restaurant in Crestwood (behind McDonald's). The food is pretty good but average. Portions are good and prices are reasonable. My wife and I eat here from time to time. She likes the General Tso's chicken and gives it good marks.. I'm a big fan of Hot and Sour soup. China King is inconsistent on the quality of their Hot and Sour soup. Otherwise most of the other menu items we've tried are good. Lo Mein, War Su Gai, Kung Pao Chicken, Egg Rolls, Crab Rangoon, and Fried Rice are all tasty. The rice is always perfection and they have a huge variety of delicious meals and platters I recommend mushu beef and the pupu platter! Service is great and they always give an amazing sponge cake!
