Hubby and I stopped in for a take out order but since no one was eating in we decided to eat there. There were multiple folks who came to pick up food while we were there, call ins as well as those who ordered and waited for their take out order. We split a chicken and brocolli that came with white rice and an egg roll and added a small pork fried rice and an additional egg roll. Chicken was kind of rubbery and I didn't care for the brown sauce in it with the brocolli. Hubby loved the brocolli and his white rice and his egg roll which I tasted and it was really good, hot and crispy. My egg roll on the other hand didn't appear to have any cabbage, it was all meat filling and I could not eat it. My pork fried rice was just OK. Big portions but doubt I'll go back anytime soon. We have passed by this restaurant several times. We decided to try this on a Sunday for lunch. My 7 year old ordered the Golden Chicken. This is like sweet & sour chicken in strips. You can choose rice or fries. My son opted for fries. I went with sesame chicken, asked for extra spicy, but was just a little spicy. Still food was very good. Cooked to order and came out hot. It took about 8-10 mins for our food to be prepped. From the outside you can't really know if it's clean. This is the cleanest Chinese restaurant I've probably ever seen. They scored an A on health Dept score. There are about 10 tables inside and plenty of seating. Soy sauce and sweet and sour sauce are on counter for you to dispense yourself. We will be sure to come here again to eat in or takeout. It's great that your food is served in to-go containers so you can easily pack up your left overs to take home. Plenty of food. See pics. Cheap and fast! The americanized Chinese food here isn't horrible, but there are much better choices within 5 minutes of here. Depending on what you get, it can be hit or miss. The traditional dishes like General Tso's, cashew chicken, beef and broccoli sweet and sour chicken, etc, are exceptional. You're rolling the dice on some of the other ones.Ordered black pepper chicken today that was delicious, but my beef lo mien lacked flavor. Wow was not expecting much from this little hole in the wall fast food chinese restaurant but it was great! I got seasame chicken. The portion size was really great considering the price. They have three size options to choose from which I really appreciate and is unique for asian restaurants. The chicken was crispy but not burnt and very moist in the inside. The rice was well flavored and the sauce was great and not too salty. All and all I think my husband and I just found our new fast food Asian restaurant. Definitely comparable to panda express but cheaper actually! And it's family owned which is always sweet. Loving to support local! read more

I have gone to this restaurant twice and I love the food. As I have mentioned in a few other posts, I'm a Chicago native. All of the Chinese restaurants back home sell brown fried rice not yellow rice that has been in a skillet for a few minutes. Nothing against the yellow rice..hell I like all types of rice just prefer my fried rice to be brown. Needless to say, I was pleasantly surprised when I received brown rice with my order. In terms of food, my family and I have tried the following: General Tso Chicken Sweet and Sour Chicken Spring Rolls Bourbon Chicken House Special Egg Foo Young Plain Fried Rice House Special Fried Rice I don't care for General Tso Chicken myself but my mother loved it. The chicken pieces for the sweet and sour chicken wasn't overcooked (y'all know what I'm talking about). The egg food young patties were thinner than I expected. While the bourbon chicken was fire!! I only have one complaint which is related to the take out containers. They use the standard styrofoam takeout containers with the little flap that you fold into the lid. This is cool for rice, egg rolls, dumplins..things like that. But the saucy items..aka bourbon chicken doesn't work well. I would have liked one of those tight lid plastic containers. read more

The quality is the same as it's always been, and I still love their food. But the past two times I've been there, they can't seem to get my order right, or send me away with someone else's food. I have seen this place while running up and down New Cut and was curious. My BF doesn't like Chinese food, and I was out and about without him and had skipped b-fast and it being 2 pm, I was really hungry. So why not? A LOT of reasons why NOT! It was horrible! Fried wontons, while on the menu, when ordered, told they no longer have them. Okay, I see the crab rangoon has been crossed off, so I look for a spring roll...crossed off. I don't see any fried shrimp so I wonder if they just have an aversion to fried food....oh wait, I see an egg roll. In order to get friend rice without onion in it, I have to order the special fried rice that has shrimp, chicken and pork. Well, okay I did that and added an egg roll. The rice comes out and is a dark yellow? Sort of reminds me of what you might find in an Indian restaurant. My mistake was adding a little bit of soy sauce (which you get at a condiment counter out of a big push handle dispenser) without tasting it. Whoa....the rice must have been salty, because now I am eating brine! The shrimp in the fried rice weren't much bigger than larvae and I hope that was chicken and pork! The egg roll was pretty run of the mill but ended up being one of the best I have had in a long time since I was hungry and that was the only thing really edible. Save your time, and money. A recent change of ownership has this restaurant open seven days a week now. There is a marked improvement in the food, and the whole place feels well-scrubbed and clean! Called last night for carryout, ordered hot braised chicken, I was told they were out. no problem, changed my order to war sui gui but asked if I could get the chicken without the braise, they kept getting me to order general tso's which is not the same thing, because of language barrier, asked to speak to someone else, said they were the owner, I know the owner personally and that was not the owner, finally hung up, looks like I may be looking for a new favorite chinese restaurant read more
