Pros: We've been ordering from China 1since 2014. Why 5 stars? Because they are extremely fast with pickup orders, hot food, quantity for the price. Cons: This isn't a dine in type place although you could. The delivery fee is a bit ridiculous at $3.00 before tipping the driver as we are only 1.2 miles from their location. Now I don't really mind a small online charge but they do have it so there ya go. Delivery can be slow and it's stated on the website as last nights order was. 50 minutes to deliver, 10-15 to pickup. I'm sure they don't have a bunch of delivery drivers sitting around which means you may need to wait, got it. Last night I decided to just go do our usual and pickup. So with the pros vs cons why 5 stars, simple, they are consistent in food quality, taste, served hot every time. In the over 10 years we have been ordering food I can't think of a single time they messed up the order. Try that at McDonald's across the street. I'm giving the a 5 for what they do best, takeout Chinese at a good price served hot. read more

China 1 is always a solid pick for Chinese takeout! If you're looking for some good won ton soup or fried rice this is the place. They also make delicious sweet and sour chicken as well as orange chicken. If you ask me what my favorite item here is though my answer would be crab rangoons all the way. I'm sometimes not in the mood for meat so I will get the plain Lo Mein and fried rice. Definitely recommend for fast and consistently good Chinese takeout! read more

DONT ORDER ON FRIDAY NIGHT. Ordered at 5:30, checked the box for delivery at 6pm. Received our two General tso's at 7pm. After calling them twice and told it was on its way. It finally did. And yes it wasn't hot anymore. 1 star cause the food is good. But everything else is terrible. Order for pick up. Nothing else. read more

The two stars are for the service. I've gotten take out from here for years and the quality of the food has gone downhill. The chicken in my latest meal was tough and .inedible; after eating about one quarter of it I threw it in the trash. If this was a one-time occurrence there could be forgiveness, but this has become the norm over the past year. I will be finding a new place for take-out. read more

This has been one of our go-to spots for fast and cheap Chinese food. They're very quick, and although they're by no means the best Chinese food I've had, I'm always happy with what we ordered. Their pork dumplings and cheese rangoons are delicious. We've had a couple night we're we've just done a couple orders of each of them, and are always happy with the decision! read more

China 1 is everything you want in a dumpy, Chinese takeout restaurant. The door is always open, the employees are yelling at each other, and the exhaustive menu contains your favorite Americanized Chinese staples for mere pennies. The pictures on the wall look as if they're from 1987. The floor is sticky, the ceiling tiles dirty and the weird West-wing wall mirror, cracked. However, the portion size for the price is completely worth it. Egg rolls, beef and broccoli, pork fried rice, curry chicken, tofu and vegetables, spare ribs, etc. I've eaten a giant chunk of the menu and I can't say I was ever let down. Granted, it's not the greatest Chinese meal of your life, but it gets the job done. Phone in orders are usually on time for pick up. The cell reception in this plaza warrants investigation, so I realistically have triple the check-ins than what Yelp says. Oh well. Live long and prosper! read more

Growing up in the North I was exposed to "New York" Chinese food, so I have set my expectations high for take out Chinese food. China One doesn't come close to that, but it is one of the better options in the intercoastal area (better being relative). China One offers your typical dishes and also Thai dishes. None of them are terrible but none will blow you away. I've noticed that sometimes the same dish will taste differently from time to time...sometimes better sometimes worse. At the end of the day you can get a cheap meal that will fill you up and is usually decent. Don't be discouraged to try just don't expect greatness. read more

It's not my favorite fast food Chinese place, but it's close to home and will suffice in a pinch. They are fast, so you can call in and by the time you drive there ( for me it's only 8 minutes) it's ready. I find some of their entrees more on the spicy side, but that's how I like it. We normally don't order Chinese delivery, but sometimes you need a quick easy meal. Today we ordered a pair of dinner plates, and a side of crab wontons. After 20-30 minutes delivery guy showed up and delivered our food. We signed the check and he went on his way. While eating our meal we realized that we had an extra dish. Our phone rang but we missed the call due to eating. Shortly after the doorbell rang...it was the same delivery guy asking for the extra dish back. I asked if he was going to deliver to the customer and he said yes. I proceeded to tell him that was not acceptable, and that I wouldn't allow. He called the office and they asked for me to return the food. I'm 99% sure this food got taken to another residence. This is unacceptable, and I will never order from this place again. Great American Chinese carryout for the buck! I saw a lot of mediocre reviews for this place so I am compelled to give it 5 stars based on my experience. It met all of my expectations and more. More because of the price. You get a lot of good quality food for your money. The Sesuan Chicken was juicy and flavorful. The special fried rice was loaded with shrimp, pork and other yummy ingredients. A quart of main dish and a pint of rice for $9 is a good value for fresh made Chinese. Tonight I felt like some Chinese food so I decided to go to a nearby place, China 1. I ordered orange chicken, egg rolls, chicken on a stick and wonton soup. I don't expect much from these kinds of restaurants but I do expect the food to be reasonably good and taste somewhat like what they are claiming to serve you. This was not the case. The orange chicken was so bad I couldn't finish it. The pieces were more breading than chicken, lacking flavor and not spicy at all. None of the signature chilies that are normally in this dish were present. The egg rolls were edible but I wouldn't be honest if I said they were any better than that. The chicken on a stick was extremely dry and not as flavorful as expected. The wonton soup was acceptable but it's kind of hard to mess that up. Overall I had to give this restaurant one star. I've been in Jacksonville for a year from NY and was hunting for a really good Chinese take out. After three or four, nice try but next places, I think I may have found it. Stopped by on the way out to Jacksonville Beach and ordered a Chicken Egg Foo Young. It was very good. The portion size was good, the rice was good, even the egg roll was OK. It can be so hard to trust Chinese restaraunts to provide a certain quality of food, especially with all of the rumors. So when I find a good, high-quality Chinese spot, I'm loyal to it for as long as I live close by. China One is the restaraunt I have trusted since I moved from NY to Jacksonville. I usually get the basic orange chicken or general tso's chicken with chicken fried rice, or beef and broccoli with beef fried rice. Toss in some wonton soup and egg rolls (usually very fresh), and you'll never go to Panda Express again. My tip is to call ahead before picking up, for the reason that since they make your food fresh, it may take 15 minutes. If they have a Friday crowd ahead of you, you could wait up to 45 minutes. The 1st delivery was prompt but we were missing 4 items from our order. I paid the delivery man shut the door and he was out of sight once I realized things were missing. When I was speaking with the lady about our order she told me I didn't order those missing items. They finally delivered what was missing and tried charging me for it. I explained how I gave the delivery man $55 which is the total for all items that I originally ordered. I had to get the calculator and show him, he made a few phone calls awkwardly laughed apologized and left. I ordered the Mongolian beef and honey chicken and the taste of both were below average at best. The chicken was tough and the beef had a weird taste to it; almost borderline spoiled. The white rice that came with the entree was overcooked and the fried rice was just yellow rice cooked in a wok. I'm Asian so I know my rice and this is not rice. Even the fortune cookies were stale. My wife and I threw away 90% of what we ordered and got some Taco Bell to wash away the bad taste. Never again will I come back here. read more
