Chips & Salsa. Crispy beef tacos 1.49 during happy hour
Zahkyia H.

Fun spot specializing in Chimichangas, Margaritas and Happy hour specials. My favorite combination is the Green Chile Chicken Chimy with a half frozen and half rocks margaritas. This a perfect meal on hot day and I really like the back patio because it gets lots of shade. Service is always excellent, friendly and fast. Great for groups, casual hang out or watching a spots game.

After turning 21 in Lubbock, I was introduced to Chimy's. The Texas Tech location was a staple of college life: a great bar with a patio, good food, good drinks, and the perfect place to catch a football game. Some of my fondest college memories happened there. Watching Tech win an away game. Meeting a British hitchhiker. Devouring their cheese fries and sipping a Silver King after finishing my Master's. Chimy's was there for me when most bars weren't. While I was in Fort Worth for work, I was asked to help find some bars in the area. I had a little trick up my sleeve. "This area is good, guys!" I said. I didn't actually know. I just knew Chimy's was there. Inside, the Pacers were lighting it up on one TV and Texas Tech was winning a softball game on another. The energy was high. The place was full of current and former Tech students, and it turns out it's also an official Texas Tech Alumni spot. I ordered a Blueberry Chilton for the nostalgia, and it tasted exactly how I remembered it. Chef's kiss. I didn't grab any food this time, but off the vibe and memory alone, I was sold on this Fort Worth version of Chimy's. It's smaller than the Lubbock location and the parking isn't free, but I was a happy guy. Home sweet home.

Fun spot, great service! Great stop in the area with a fun Lil patio with tables and water out for dogs.

Exactly what you expect. Nothing is going to stand out, but the food was just fine. Not overly flavorful. One highlight was the very friendly staff. It made our lunch enjoyable and the restaurant filled up quickly right after the noon bell rang.

Great, friendly and helpful staff. Great atmosphere too! Our 1st time there today. My better half had shrimp tacos for Taco Tuesday and I had nachos with queso and ground beef. Massive sized nachos!! I should have stopped 1/3 of the way but had to force 1/2 before I surrendered and took home. Best nachos I've ever had. She absolutely loved the shrimp tacos!! Said they were the best she ever had. I'm certain that we will be back.

Came here for a date night and was pleasantly surprised. Parking can be a little tricky but inside it's super colorful and fun. The staff was friendly and attentive. The food was hands down some of the best I've had. Seasoned so well that it needed nothing added to it like salt or pepper. We would certainly come back here again.

My favorite spot to get a margarita (raspberry and mango are my favorites) and DP Shootout. Brings back so many college memories (cannot beat TTU's chimys ambiance though). As for food, everything is delicious from the burgers to the tacos and burritos. My go to are chips & queso, veggie burrito (yes... the best in town for now), hamburgers and fried fish tacos (the sauce is the best part).

Well.. happy new year! And this would be my first review of 2020.. and why why do I pick this restaurant to be my first? Well.. we have been staying home for a week now, trying to slow down after the holidays and my husband been really bugging me to try Chimy's for 6months now. So that's why we end up here tonight.. I am seriously hating myself at the moment because I wanted to start the year the right way.. in the positive notes but Urg it's sooo hard for me when a restaurant gives poor customer service. Expensive margarita I thought; it's was $11 for a Cadillac without grand mariner shot? And it wasn't strong at all, and it was pretty small for $11 to be honest in my humble opinion. I can get $14 margarita at la hacienda ranch and for sure will make me tipsy drinking 1. But in this case I drank 3 and nothing! ‍ Anyway nothing exciting to be honest.. we ordered fried fish tacos and chili verde pork chimichanga.. fish tacos came in pieces instead of one big fish; so that was very unappealing for me personally, and you couldn't taste the fish at all and I'm a huge fish tacos person so I was left unsatisfied for sure. And then they put melted cheese on the tortillas also, I don't know which are the worse at this point ‍ Chimichanga was not seasoned at all. I was expecting spicy and gooey chili verde that has a little punch but nah, not even worth mentioning. They also got our order wrong and instead of apologizing they told us that it was our fault that we didn't speak loud enough! And that we didn't repeat the order to make sure it was right? Hmmm.. I ain't the server or the order taker?? Really? At this point I'm just super annoyed already. I'm still superstitious about coming back but, I might give them one more try and see if it gives us a better experience next time!

My friends and I were in Fort Worth for a little weekend fun and after driving in and checking into…read moreour hotel, we sought out food and drinks. Yelp brought us here. Gustos Burgers N Stuff is basically a house turned restaurant and bar. You literally walk through the front door and walk through rooms. They also have a nice backyard turned into a large patio. Customer service was great. You order at the counter and when your food is ready they'll bring it out to you. The food menu is pretty small and simple. They have one starter which are the jalapeno poppers. It's your standard popper but they elevate it by glazing it with salted brown sugar honey butter. It is really good. I'm usually not big on sweet and savory combos but this works and packs just the right amount of heat. Burgers is their game. Smash burgers to be exact and the best variety in my opinion. They have 4 meat options as well as an Impossible Burger option. They come in single, double or triple meat and the price varies according to what you pick. First time here so I had to go with just a regular smash burger which is the Gusto Burger. I can't remember if I went double or triple, but either choice is good as one thin patty is never the move with a smash burger. It comes with American cheese (the only right cheese for burgers), caramelized onions, their house sauce and pickles. It comes on a buttered toasted bun which held up nicely to all the toppings. This burger was outstanding. I would put it up there as one of the best smash burgers I've had. Everyone in our party agreed. I went with tots for my side and it was a very generous portion that was cooked to perfection and seasoned nicely. I washed it down with a local beer from their nice selection of draft beers. They also have a nice variety of bottled drinks as well as cocktails. I am glad we randomly found this spot in Fort Worth because it was a solid spot to quench our thirst and fill our bellies. I will most definitely be back when in the area.

Right by TCU so it's obviously the place to go for a good smash burger that is reasonably priced for what it is. Service is kind and we got our food fast enough. The tables turn quickly but they basically have no time to wipe them down. I always love the Maine root soda selection. The smash burger is absolutely soaked in grease. That's even with two patties! As someone who loves a good smash burger more than a gourmet burger, I couldn't even finish it and felt a lil queasy. And I eat everything. The tater tots felt just as unhealthy and oily. It definitely feels like a place to use burgers to soak up the booze. Perfect if you're in college and when your metabolism can handle anything. If not, I'd recommend skipping it.

You can tell there's care put into the build. The atmosphere was fun and lively, making it a great place to hang out and enjoy a meal. The staff stood out as well. They were friendly, attentive, and genuinely seemed to care about making sure we had a great experience. The onion rings were just okay. They and the chicken tenders felt like the only items that went straight from freezer to fryer, which stood out compared to how fresh everything else tasted. If I had one suggestion to take this place to the next level, it would be to offer a true build-your-own burger option with a full list of ingredients. They were very accommodating when it came to customizing their "designer" burgers, but having full control would make the experience even better. Also, while the burger meat was good, it tasted like it was cooked on a flat top. There is nothing wrong with that, but a flame grilled option with a bit of smoke and char would push these burgers into elite territory. Overall, great burgers, great vibe, and great service, with just a couple of tweaks away from being exceptional.

We were really there just to try the burgers and look around. You can't really get up and look around while you're ordering from a table. Our waitress was new but still seemed very knowledgeable about the menu. Our food came out hot and fresh. We only had the burgers. They were juicy and good, but could have used some salt and pepper. The burgers are on the small side. Quarter pound patty burgers without a side are nearly $13 and it was five dollars to make it a double.
