Professional and thorough and honest. Will definitely be calling them for all my fireplace needs! A great company!

Extremely nice, polite and educational. I think I could have burned down my house if they didnt give me teach me some points. I highly recommended. read more

Chimney Monkey is definitely one of the more honest contractors out there. I hired them to do some chimney work. Art from CM was a pleasure to work with. It was very easy to schedule an appointment, and the quote he gave me for the work I wanted done was very reasonable. The contractor called me while he was on the roof to let me know what needed to be done and how much the work costs. I was very pleasantly surprised when I received the final invoice - my bill was much lower than anticipated, as they only performed services that were truly needed. I'd definitely hire CM again and highly recommend their services! read more

Highly recommend! Look no further for your fireplace and chimney needs! One of the most responsive and communicative companies I have ever used. When I was deciding on the logs for my fireplace the owner spent so much time walking me through all of my choices, the pros & cons, etc. They send numerous reminders ahead of the appointment, were on time (or early) for each one, and the technicians were very courteous. They took extra time to make sure they didn't leave any mess and did the jobs in a shorter time frame than I anticipated. read more

Outstanding. Had a jammed/clogged downspout. Got a quote from another highly reviewed gutter company that said the gutter definitely was beyond repair and had to be replaced (for a lot of $). Called chimney monkey, they came over and repaired it in less then an hour. For a FRACTION of replacement cost. Good honest people, not trying to take advantage of you. No "north shore" pricing, just good honest work/people/price. read more

We just moved into a new house whose previous owner really enjoyed having fires, but did not enjoy cleaning or maintaining the fireplaces. They were a mess. Chimney Monkey came today and cleaned them beautifully. Having never had a wood burning fireplace before, I asked the technician to give me a quick rundown on how to use them. He was super helpful and took time to show me what to do and explained basic safety measures and troubleshooting. I'm so glad we went with Chimney Monkey and we will definitely be having them back yearly! read more

I found this company on the web, and they had great reviews, and were in the Northwest Suburbs where I live, so I thought I would give them a try for both of my fireplaces. I called to make an appointment, which I did for 10/31, at 8:30am. They never showed up, and when I called around noon, I never received a call back. read more

Honest, professional and superior skills. I had them do 2 complete chimney rebuilds, one brick and one stone. They were reasonably priced, offered a cash discount and came to start the work when they said they would. Really couldn't expect much more. They did great work and their master mason is a wizard. Really passionate about his craft and worked like an artist and mad scientist. They are seriously very knowledgeable about chimneys and replaced flue tiles and my liner after it was discovered to be beyond repair. read more

Art was extremely courteous and professional. He was responsive throughout the initial conversation to scope out the work, and once at our home took great care to explain everything we needed to know about our fireplace. Even though it was snowing the day of our scheduled appointment, Chimney Monkey did not let that stop them from providing great service! read more

Outstanding. Andre took the time to really explain all the facets of my project. We have three wood-burning fireplaces that have a gas starter but we want to convert them to a gas fireplace with ceramic logs. While he was here giving me that estimate we determine that one of the fireplaces needed to be cleaned so he did that. And he noticed that we had a lot of leaves on the roof and he mentioned that they do gutter cleaning so he took care of that. Great customer service. Reasonable rates. I highly recommend them. read more

I check many companies for having my fireplace and chimney cleaned and inspected. Chimney Monkey was selected due to their responsiveness and honesty in addressing my questions. They were here today and did an outstanding job. Not only is my fireplace clean but my entire room stayed clean due to the fantastic job they did in covering the furniture and area with plastic. I would highly recommend Chimney Monkey. read more

This company is terrible! Terrible customer service, and they do not follow through. I had them to our house in August for an inspection and a they were going to order a new remote control. Never got a updates on the status of this issue. I had to chase them to get answers and it was never resolved. We are now we are going to hire a different company to help us out. This was a small issue (a simple remote control) and they could not handle that...wow. I wonder how they stay in business. read more

Dmitri came out this morning to do an inspection and possible chimney sweep (if needed). He was wonderful. Very informative and helpful. He was very honest and up front about pricing. I'm very satisfied with his service, promptness, and professionalism. read more

Our condo's furnace cap blew off. I called some roofers and the price was very high. I called Chimney Monkey and their price was very reasonable. Art came out when he said he would and did a great job (it was also 20F outside)! We received a receipt via text and were all set. I would highly recommend. read more

Great service and communication. They weren't out to just find faults and take our money, rather discovered our problem and solved it! Will reccomend them over and over again! Also loved the text communication which made everything so prompt and easy. We had our first fire of the year last night and zero smoke into our home (which was the continuous problem we were having). So glad to have found you on Yelp! read more

Awesome, professional friendly work diligently to resolve the problem

My wife and I recently bought a new house and wanted to get the chimneys look at before using them. Art came out and took a look and said they are in really good shape, they just needed to be swept. He did also let me know we were missing the cap for the furnace. He said it was an old chimney cap and that he would go online and try to find me one. A couple days later Art called me and said he couldn't find one, but that they would make on for me. When he showed up to install it, I was thoroughly impressed with what they created. They went above and beyond for us, and did it for a very reasonable price. Fast forward a couple weeks later and our home inspection for the property we are selling showed a crack in the chimney there. It was the easiest call to make. Art and Chimney Monkey came by and made the repairs in a very timely manner and again charged less than expected. In both situations they never tried to up-sell me on additional services that weren't needed. They were very professional and treated my homes as if they were theirs. I highly recommend calling Art at Chimney Monkey if you want an excellent job at a fair price. read more

Art was very responsive and highly knowledgeable about chimneys and fireplaces. We purchased a home not knowing exactly what we were working with, and Art was prompt and courteous. I'd highly recommend chimney monkeys to anyone looking to do work on their chimney or fireplace that values customer service ! read more

Great service! Prompt, courteous, professional, and knowledgeable. I highly recommend them.

Super easy process. They were on time, nice and professional, and completed the job in a timely way. They made sure they covered the whole living room with plastic and left the place as clean, if not cleaner than when they left it. Finally, when they were wrapping up, they gave me helpful tips for maintaining my fireplace moving forward. All in all, a great experience and would recommend to anyone. read more

Used them today for the first time to clean my gutters. Was right on time and did a very good job. Professional and very polite crew. Will definitely use them again. read more

The technician was polite and diligent. He took all the precautions including wearing mask and shoes covers. At last, he patiently walked me through all the safety steps I need to take to operate the fireplace. The price was reasonable. Highly recommend. But make sure you understand they are pretty busy before the holiday. read more

I bought a new condo and was advised by my inspector to get chimney cleaned. I called Art and scheduled a Saturday appointment the same week. Art came promptly at 9 am and went up on the roof to inspect the chimney. He let us know that the chimney cleaning was unnecessary and that ours was in good shape. 10 out of 10 in terms of honesty and integrity. Would highly recommend giving them a call if you want an honest experience! It is hard to find chimney cleaners you can trust. Thank you Chimney Monkey!!! read more

We received terrific service from this company. The two gentlemen who came to our house were very professional and obvious experts at what they do; they fixed a couple issues and "swept" our chimney clean, while taking special care to protect our furniture from dust; they also gave us a couple of lessons on how to operate our fireplace safely. Big thumbs-up! read more

Called, they came it's done, great job, very happy Nice guys will use them in future

My chimney was leaking condensation into my basement when the furnace was on, due to the previous owners of the home not properly sealing off the old stack pipe vent into the chimne from the original furnace of the home. This problem became worse when I had a newer more efficient furnace installed. The previous owners also used wood to put the new stack pipe in, which is combustible. Chimney Monkey came out, gave me a fair estimate, installed a chimney liner, sealed off the old stack pipe connection with concrete, and removed the wood. Good work read more

Awesome experience! Very honest and explained everything to me in detail. This was appreciated because I know absolutely nothing about chimneys. The price was fair. Would definitely recommend to anyone. read more

Requiring a $100 fee for an estimate is not right. I won't do business with this company because of this fee.

Great company! I contacted them via the "Request a Quote" feature in Yelp and they responded right away, plus were very professional/helpful. Then for the chimney cleaning, they showed up on time, explained to me exactly what they were doing, and then did a great job. Sounds like they can even do gutter cleaning too. Art was extremely nice and helpful. I highly recommend this company for chimney cleaning!! Thank you! read more

First time fireplace user and called Art for inspection. Prompt response, on time and after the inspection did a walk through on the correct steps for the fireplace use. Cleared all my doubts. Found no problem and declined for any charges. Very professional and knowledgeable about the science and working of a fireplace. read more

Art was very knowledgeable and professional. We are purchasing a condo with a fireplace that needed to be inspected. Art spent and hour and he was VERY thorough. He inspected the fireplace from the unit and on the roof inspected the chimney. He knew we were on a time crunch with our inspection period and we got the inspection report and estimate for repairs right away. Money well spent! read more

I am super exited to share my experience with this company. It was recommended by a friend and am I happy I listened. I called Chimney Monkey (love the name) after 5pm hoping to leave a message and maybe get a call back the next day. Instead I got to talk with a peasant gentlemen Art, who was able to schedule our annual chimney sweep for the NEXT DAY! Chimney Monkey arrived on time and did a very thorough job. Not only they did our chimney sweep they also cleaned the dryer vent at a discounted price. We feel safer with serviced chimney and our clothes dry faster. They were very thorough and explained everything in great detail. Excellent service - will recommend to family and friends. read more

Communication was great from the call to Chimney Monkey to the appointment and follow-up. Professional small business.

Couldn't be happier with the work these guys did last week in vetting my fireplace up and running for the first time in decades! Ben, Rufino, Brad, and Peter were efficient, knowledgeable, and hard working. Would highly recommend using them and recommend scheduling early as they're in high demand, for good reason. read more

Extremely happy that we hired Chimney Monkey to fix our chimney issue! Art and his team are very knowledgeable, take the time to explain the situation and fix to you, are transparent about costs and have very reasonable prices, are punctual, and are very professional and polite. We will definitely call them for our future chimney needs. We had water coming into our basement from the chimney clean out, and Art and his team installed a furnace liner so our furnace and water heater would vent without creating condensation that was causing our water issue. They also replaced our very old rain caps to prevent water from coming in, and waterproofed our chimney crown. They did great work! read more

We had clogged downspouts on our 5 story condo building that were overflowing and not draining. They were very responsive and came out quickly to clear the clog and take apart the downspouts as needed to make sure they were clear. The guys were all great and very personable. They even reduced the quote at the end because the clog ended up being easier to clear than anticipated. Great service. read more

Very happy with the service provided - we just had a regular sweep and inspection done. The techs showed up on time and took about 45 minutes for the whole process. I appreciated the way the recommendations for repairs and preventative maintenance were suggested in a way that was not pushy and also liked the before/after pictures showing the work done. read more

Technicians were very helpful and professional. We moved in to a new house and wanted our chimney and dryer vent cleaned. They inspected our chimney and told us it didnt need of immediate cleaning and made a recommendation for a good time. Really appreciate that they didn't charge us for something we didn't need. They cleaned the dryer vents and did a great job. We will certainly hire them in the spring to clean the chimney. Very honest company! read more
