Molcajete

Busy Friday night with a long hour+ line at the other restaurant we visited. Short line here. They get you in and out in a flash. We waited maybe 10minutes. Our food was also on our table in 10minutes. I love love love the corn cake and can't find it at a lot of Mexican restaurants. They also have fried ice cream, which is a favorite. My adventurous husband ordered the molcajete. Which is a lava rock mortar (pestle). Wow. Not spicy at all (I can't tolerate spice) and served boiling hot. I've never seen cactus on a menu. This meal was an experience! The service is always top notch here as well. Definitely will return!

Summary: The local chain provides a menu of standard Tex-Mex dishes alongside friendly, attentive service in a comfortable setting. Chimi's Fresh Mex--as the name states--emphasizes fresh ingredients. Fresher than other Mexican restaurants? You'll have to decide. Their menu is large. Their appetizers and entrees are familiar. They offer complementary crispy tortilla chips with fresh salsa. Their interior is bright. Staff are Hispanic and friendly. Much like other local Mexican restaurants. We two halved a chimichanga combo that included--besides two beef chimis--retried beans, Spanish rice, a corn cake, and a small garnish (not quite a salad) of lettuce and sour cream. It was sufficient for a pair of not-so-hungry adults. The beef was nicely seasoned; the rice wasn't over cooked, the beans weren't dry, and the small corn cake had a fluffy texture. All value priced at under $11. It's a place we'd return to.

Chimi's is a local chain with three star food and five star service. The food is ok but it's your typical fare that you can get at any Mexican restaurant with nothing special on the menu, definitely edible but a little meh. The service on the other hand is terrific with super fast service and a very friendly wait staff particularly Alberto. It's nice inside with brightly cover walls and faux bricks breaking through the paint. The upside is their food is consistent the downside is it lacks imagination. I'll try it again for sure, hopefully they surprise me.

This was our first visit to Chimi's. A severe storm rolled in at our niece's home and took out the power in the sub-division and surrounding area. We hoped Chimi's still had power and luckily they did. As you enter you see a colorful mural that surrounds the full bar area, dining room booths, tables, several T.V's and a gorgeous, large fountain. The entrance was congested because you pay at the counter almost directly in front of the door. So folks were constantly coming in and out. Don't confused the two groups in the entrance as folks waiting for a table. When we arrived it was extremely busy but we were seated immediately at an 8-top table not far from the entrance. Our server arrived quickly, was personable, friendly and knew the menu well. He took excellent care of us and never just disappeared, keep drinks refilled and removed empty dishes each time he passed our table. 5 star service. They have 21 premium tequilas and margaritas but our group ordered imported Mexican beers. The menu is extensive from starters through Fajita's. The 5 of us ordered our favorite entrees from burritos, nachos, fajita steak and chicken rice soup. The portions are large with pretty presentations. Everyone enjoyed their entrees with ratings from just average to excellent. I personally ordered the delicious Sopa de Pollo (Chicken Rice Soup) which arrived in a large bowl filled with at least one shredded chicken breast, tomatoes, onions, cilantro, rice and topped with sliced avocado. Even as good as it was, I ended up taking half of it home. I also ordered the fabulous flan topped with real whipped cream. My meal was excellent. We were grateful Chimi's was opened for beers and dinner plus having a pleasant, stress-free dinner experience while having time with our family. I would happily return.

Chips and Salsa - delicious with just enough heat!

I had the Parillada Mexicana - it was delicious! I ordered the single platter, but it's also available doubled. It was a mixed platter of pork, beef, (chorizo?) and chicken, served with rice, beans, sour cream and lettuce. Enough food for at least 2 people, without doubling! Definitely recommend!

Great place to go to safely dine out. Masks worn by all employees and tables socially distanced. We enjoyed the tacos, quesadillas and chimichanga. All served very quickly, hot and delicious. Will definitely be back!

The restaurant is decorated beautifully inside...very bright and festive...(although the lights over each table are way too bright!). The staff was friendly. The food was mediocre/average. The taco meat nor the enchilada were very hot. Some of the menu items seemed a little on the pricy side.

Spanish music, colorful wall decor, and amazing smells. Service was prompt and professional. They offer an extensive margarita menu. I HIGHLY recommend the spicy pineapple margarita. Flavorful and just the perfect combination of sweet and spicy. The lunch menu offers a nice variety of options. We went with the bean dip appetizer. Creamy queso and refried beans. The chips are perfectly thin and crispy. The salsa was just ok in my opinion. We ordered steak fajitas for lunch. We were served a generous portion of steak and veggies, homemade tortillas, and perfectly seasoned rice and beans. The rest of the menu offers a little of everything you could expect. I plan to visit again soon to try more of their menu.

No one greeted us so we finally just walked over to the bar. We were greeted within two minutes of seating ourselves at the bar. We ordered two margaritas that we received quickly and two entrées received everything in about 15 minutes. Everything was very delicious. I always get fajitas. I got the chicken fajitas which were yummy and I always add cheese sauce on them. Very cute decor throughout the restaurant. Bartender was very pleasant.

I really liked their food and no frills location, casual ambience, friendly service and generous portions of house-made eats! Everything from apps to dinners, Taste of Mexico specialties and more...you won't go hungry! Overall, 4.0 rated experience; expect to pay $15-18pp for entrees, plus any starters or drinks. Tonite we started with Kevs Dip, tender seasoned ground beef in a cheesy dip (would've liked more cheese) topped with pico de gallo. Enough to share, it was tasty and served with house tortilla chips. I think if you prefer a spicier version, try their Queso Fundido which has house-made Chorizo and fresh Jalapeños in cheese dip - i definitely want to try the Fundido next time. For dinners, we ordered Chori Chicken and a Weldon Spring Burrito. Both were plentiful portions (shareable if not overly hungry) and delicious! The Chori Chicken had house-made Chorizo and grilled onions atop grilled Chicken breast smothered in queso; served with rice, beans, salad and flour tortillas - hits the spot! The Burrito had grilled Ribeye steak, avocado, rice, beans, mushrooms, fajita peppers, cilantro and queso - wow it was a giant and complex burrito but very tasty to eat! Plenty of menu options to try, and perhaps my one surprise was quite limited Pork selections; while they had Al Pastor (marinated) Pork dishes, they did not have any Carnitas type dinner or Enchiladas. Regardless, I'll be back again soon to experience more of their home-cooked Mexican eats - hope you'll find and give Casa Mia's a try! Cheers, ENJOY!!

When you enter there's a seating area of booths to the left. If you continue further there's another little space of seats, a full L shaped bar, and more seating in the bar area as well as an outside patio with seating. I definitely recommend coming before dinner time. If you come for dinner be prepared to wait. If you want to eat here with a large party I recommend asking about a reservation otherwise I'd advise against due to how busy it gets! I'm not a fav of the chips & salsa as the salsa isn't flavorful or chunky enough to me. For those like myself who prefer spice & more flavor I recommend getting their salsa picante & mixing the 2, so much better! Their margaritas are good, I prefer the blood orange vest but they have a large selection of marg flavors and a full bar. For food I've had the nachos, tamales, enchiladas (I recommend the enchiladas de pollo verdes), tacos, and chimichanga. I got my parents hooked on the tamales! I love that they serve them as not a lot of Mexican restaurants do here & I love that they put meat both inside and on top of them. The establishment is always clean, the staff is always friendly & welcoming, and you can tell theirs homemade recipes coming out of the kitchen. I recommend ending your meal with the churros! Overall their price point, staff efficiency, and the consistency with the food makes this the best Mexican restaurant I've had in the area which is why I keep coming back & would bring guests here.

It was very good and refreshing. We were brought chips and salsa that were better than average. My dining companion ordered other kinds of salsa that were quite spicy, and I liked it mixed with the regular salsa. I ordered the cheese tamale plate that came with three large cheese tamales, fluffy rice, a small lettuce and tomato mound, and vegetarian pinto beans that were quite tasty. The highlight of this visit was the staff. Five stars! They know how to treat customers well.
