Chips n Salsa

First of all, I'm barely able to write this review because the margaritas did exactly what they were supposed to do. Just wow. When it said too shelf, it had to mean in the sky because they were hitting‼ They were pretty crowded but still got seated fast. It was bigger than it looked in there so I was pleased with that. The service was top tier! Waitress was really good and they all worked collaboratively well.it was very weak lit and a nice bar area. There was a mix of tables and booths. Now as for the food, everything was great! The picture does the burrito no justice as it was HUGE! It was almost equivalent a footling subway but very flavorful. The fajita quesadilla and fajita nachos were great as well! My family had already decided what we are trying next time‼

Very good food. Service was fast and the staff was so friendly. Comfortable seating and a nice size resturant to accommodate a large party. This will be my spot the next time I dine in Saint Charles

The margarita was great. The food came fast. Super hot and tasted great. I got the chicken burrito, chicken enchilada, and pork tamale...

Loved the food. My server was so friendly. The music wasn't too loud. I had the day off and needed to grab some food while I was out and I'm glad I stopped here. The large menu has so many tasty options, so it took a while to make a choice. I decided upon something different, the Pollo en Crema. It was a great choice with chicken, broccoli, peppers, and mushrooms; served super hot. I also recommend the Queso to go with your chips and salsa. I appreciated that they didn't rush me along and could read my book while I dined(and I didn't overstay my welcome).

The bright sunshine played with my photo of the isle we sat at.

While we were visiting family in St. Charles, our neice, suggested El Rancho Nuevo restaurant for dinner. Along with the comment, "It's just average and nothing special, but the food is good." She was right! Our food was really good, along with a personable, efficient server. She checked on us several times and promptly returned with the items requested. The restaurant is large, and the Mexican decor is pleasant, a casual atmosphere filled with laughter and conversation. My husband said his shrimp ala diabla was wonderful with perfectly cooked shrimp and a wonderful spicy and smokey diabla sauce. Thank you! His only request is good food, prepared well with ingredients listed on the menu and no cheese or any dairy products. I ordered the unexpected El Toriado with grilled chicken, steak, shrimp, and bacon. All this protein was served on a bed of rice and then topped with cheese dip and served with 3 tortillas of your choice, flour or corn. I was looking for something different, and I wasn't disappointed. It was perfectly cooked protein with a nice balanced amount of cheese dip on top of the meat and rice. The flour tortillas were hot and fresh. I will definitely order the El Toriado again and highly recommend it to those on a high protein diet or just a carnivore. I've only had one meal in El Toriado, but everyone at our table was happy, and our server insured dinner went smoothly. Thank you! All we ask is for cold beer/beverages, prompt service, well-made cocktails, good food, and an awesome server. That's all that matters to us. Isn't it everyone's expectations?

Friday night and the place was packed. We took seats at the bar to avoid waiting for a table. The bar is comfortable for eating and service was great. We started with a frozen strawberry margarita, one of their specialties, just for a treat. It was really good, with the right balance of fruit and liquor. The chips and salsa are tasty. They bring out two small bowls, so if you don't want to share bowls, you don't need to. That's cool. The chips are thin and crispy with a light sprinkling of salt--pretty near perfection. The salsa has a full tomato flavor that's not too spicy. There are hot sauces you can add to zhuzh up your salsa if you want. I ordered grilled Hawaiian tacos: chicken with pineapple, served with a pico de gallo sauce. Corn tortillas for me (GF) and they accommodated me, no problem. The tacos were scrumptious. Chicken so juicy and seasoned well, combined with the sweetness of grilled pineapple, it's a treat to eat. The sauce was a nice complement, and I drizzled just a bit on each taco. My husband ordered a steak entrée, carné asada. The serving of meat was huge! Everything looked fresh, and he reported that it was all very good. He actually took some home to finish the next day, which is a compliment from him. We will go back again soon. They often have coupons and next time we'll remember to take one!

Our new favorite Mexican restaurant in Weldon Spring! We always share a single order of chicken fajitas with an extra order of tortillas. Tasty!

It is a bit of a drive for us and I don't see a return visit in the future. Ms T ordered a quesadilla with chicken. The tortilla was dry. The cheese and chicken were skimpy, coming nowhere near the edge of the tortilla and the chicken was just cooked chicken with no seasoning, no salt. My huevos rancheros came with the strangest salsa on them. They were served with a tortilla underneath, which is as they should be, but the sauce was almost clear, like broth thickened with cornstarch. It had a bit of tomato, but no chile and no seasonings. It was what I call wallpaper paste for anyone old enough to know what that is. The refritos and rice were fine, not remarkable. The guacamole was decent, not an onion bomb. I also ordered a side of carnitas, which would have been good had they not been served at room temperature. I asked for corn tortillas and received more of the dry flour tortillas that Ms T had for her quesadilla. The salsa served with the complimentary totopos was the best thing of the meal but that does not warrant a return visit.

We also ordered a side of queso cheese sauce which made everything taste better. Their salsa is very good too. The have a good variety of Mexican Beers and they are very cold. The server was very warm and engaging. They have a very big menu with a lot of great choices. We ordered the Pancho Quesadilla, Fish Street Tacos and the Alambre Nachos. I would highly recommend this place ot anyone wanting a good Mexican food on a nice outdoor patio.

YUM!! Had I not been recommended to try Casa Mia, I would've missed this enjoyable local Mexican…read morerestaurant tucked away in a small strip mall. I really liked their food and no frills location, casual ambience, friendly service and generous portions of house-made eats! Everything from apps to dinners, Taste of Mexico specialties and more...you won't go hungry! Overall, 4.0 rated experience; expect to pay $15-18pp for entrees, plus any starters or drinks. Tonite we started with Kevs Dip, tender seasoned ground beef in a cheesy dip (would've liked more cheese) topped with pico de gallo. Enough to share, it was tasty and served with house tortilla chips. I think if you prefer a spicier version, try their Queso Fundido which has house-made Chorizo and fresh Jalapeños in cheese dip - i definitely want to try the Fundido next time. For dinners, we ordered Chori Chicken and a Weldon Spring Burrito. Both were plentiful portions (shareable if not overly hungry) and delicious! The Chori Chicken had house-made Chorizo and grilled onions atop grilled Chicken breast smothered in queso; served with rice, beans, salad and flour tortillas - hits the spot! The Burrito had grilled Ribeye steak, avocado, rice, beans, mushrooms, fajita peppers, cilantro and queso - wow it was a giant and complex burrito but very tasty to eat! Plenty of menu options to try, and perhaps my one surprise was quite limited Pork selections; while they had Al Pastor (marinated) Pork dishes, they did not have any Carnitas type dinner or Enchiladas. Regardless, I'll be back again soon to experience more of their home-cooked Mexican eats - hope you'll find and give Casa Mia's a try! Cheers, ENJOY!!

My Horchata was good - it could've been better. The horchata had more of an Eggnog-ish taste but I confirmed it was Horchata as the receipt read it and it had cinnamon flakes in it.
