    Lunch special, pad Thai
    Ashley H.

I've eaten here for years and years.. back to when they were a 4 table small little restaurant. Their food brings me such great comfort and a great price! Been loving the lunch specials lately which comes with an entree, soup, salad, rice and wonton strips. I recommend their: pad Thai, drunken noodles, rah nah, pad see ew, tom kha soup, tom yum soup, fried tofu. Also the people who work here are so nice and hardworking.

I loved coming to this place as a high schooler! They had cheap BOGO boba drinks. Food: 4/5 Came here for their lunch special. It did not disappoint. Their lunch special items came with salad, soup, wonton crisp, rice, and the entree. The green curry was spicy and flavorful. I love the fried eggplant they put in it. The Pad Thai was really good. I also liked their the salad dressing that came with their salad. Their combination fried rice was nothing special. I would recommend sticking to their lunch specials. I really like their drinks, the Thai iced coffee was strong and sweet. Price: 5/5 Their lunch special is only $10.99 for beef, chicken, or pork and like a dollar more for shrimp and seafood. Their drinks are probably the cheapest boba drinks you can find anywhere: 2 for $3.00. Service: 5/5 Great service, no wait, and food came out quick. Ambiance: 5/5 I am biased because I loved coming here as a teen. The nostalgia comes rushing back. But overall it's a quant little restaurant with plenty of seating.

At the current 3.5 average rating, I'd say it's pretty accurate, but it's easy to round up to a 4. Tucked away in the corner of a small plaza, behind BMC and Yoshinora is Chillin' Thai. They have been here for many years, and at first glance, it shows. The decor is pretty dated and the seats, tables legs show it's age. Menus have a sturdy cover, but the paper inside are ripped. If you can overlook all that, then you'll enjoy the food a bit more. They offer lunch specials with a decent portion at a good price. We tried their red curry and ground chicken with mint leaves specials, both typical dishes you'll find In any Thai restaurant. Each order comes with soup and a side salad. The salad was very refreshing, chilled to a nice temperature and served with a sweet dressing. The hot soup was also good, providing a contrast to the chilled salad. Our entrees were both good. I'm not saying they were excellent or authentic, but tasty enough for us to enjoy. We chose medium spice level for both, and they both came with a nice bit of heat. They also offer a BOGO seal for certain drinks, so we both got a Thai tea. During the weekday lunch hours, we were the first ones in, but a steady flow of customers rolled in shortly after. The friendliness of the servers made this a pleasant dining experience. For me, Chillin' Thai is a good place to grab a quick lunch at a great price. It does give off a small business, family owned vibe, and I love supporting businesses like this.

My amiga highly recommend this Thai restaurant so we tried it out and it was yummy. Customer service was on point and the dishes we tried together was delicious we had chicken curry, papaya salad, and eggplant with chicken. I got the mango slush too! Great place to catch up with childhood friend.

Heres what we ordered: * Beef pad see ew - really good & not too overly seasoned, it had the right amount of sweetness & salty. * chicken skewers - also really good, my husband loved it, especially their peanut sauce. * fried catfish w/basil spicy sauce - also really good * pad thai - I'm not a huge fan of pad thai but my husband & friend liked it. Overall, even though they told us no rush, we tried to be as fast as we can but the older lady working that night was so nice! I understand & speak Thai so for her to try to communicate & just chit chat with us made me feel like she's my auntie or something lol Highly recommend if you want some good thai food.

The food came out as it was made. We tried a number of dishes: Pad See You - good wok flavor. We ordered it with pork. There wasn't a lot of meat in it but I did like that the meat was thinly sliced. Crab Fried Rice - once again, good wok flavor. Lots of flakey crab meat and chunky egg pieces. Crunchy Tofu - we all loved the texture variation. The deep fry technique definitely leaves it with a crunchy shell. It was good with or without the sauce it came with. Pork Jerky - everyone enjoyed the marinade. We noshed and picked at this throughout dinner. Yellow Curry - we got it with beef, mild, no spice. It was tasty, the coconut curry was delicious. I was surprised at how much I loved this especially since the gravy was more soupy than gravy like. Puffy Carfish - wasn't sure what this was but saw it on a number or posts and had to try it. It was an interesting texture. I think I read after eating dinner that it was a salad. OOPS we didn't eat the cabbage! The sour apple slaw that comes with it is DELICIOUS! Naked Wings - marinated fried chicken wings w/ sweet chile sauce. Can't go wrong but not super exciting. Lots of parking, especially for dinner. All of the other stores in this strip mall were closed. I'd come back.

For Khao soi, I prefer if the item is more wet noodle and soupy. The way it is here, their best item, is that it is partially deep fried and just enough broth to soak the noodles in, after a few minutes it becomes more of a pasta with a thick curry rather than a Khao soi I prefer (think ramen like). The panang Curry tasted good, I just prefer it a bit thicker. It does feel watery until you let it soak into the rice, just not my preference. The pad kee mao was tasty, I thought the texture and balance was just right. Overall, if I were to come again, I would get their flat rice noodle dishes. I have preferences with texture on thai dishes. Overall though, the taste and pricing is good, I cannot ding them that harshly for my preference, 4 stars!

The Yellow Curry is pure comfort food; the broth is incredibly rich, smooth, and aromatic, with perfectly cooked potatoes and veggies. On top of the great taste, the portion sizes are very generous. You definitely get your money's worth here, with plenty of food to leave you full (and probably take some home). Will definitely be ordering from here again! Highly recommend.

It's flavorful and Ong Choy is nice and crunchy. Definitely a great vegetable selection. Pad Thai: the sauce is way too heavy and sweet. We didn't enjoy this as much as we thought we would. The first taste was good, but the more you have the saltier/sweeter it gets. The lime juice didn't lighten things up either. Don't really recommend it. Crab fried rice: there's a good amount of crab and egg in this dish. The rice is on the softer side, it's not dry and hard like most fried rice. We still enjoy it, the texture of the rice didn't kill the flavor of it. The flavor is very balanced, but quite oily. Tom yum seafood soup: There's a good amount of seafood in this soup. The flavor (sweet and sour) is well balanced. Sweet rice with mango: A great dessert option to finish the meal. It is not overly sweet. I'm not a fan of coconut, but the coconut is not distinctly sweet and overwhelming (so I was able to have some). The sweet rice is chewy and warm when served. And the mango is perfectly ripe and sweet. Definitely recommend it. The service was outstanding! The restaurant decoration is very traditional and unique. They are quite busy when we arrived on a Sunday night. I would give this place an overall 3.5/5 because they can definitely work on some of the dishes.
