This is my GO - TO spot! There are many other Thai options near in my area but this is the best! Good pricing / amazing selection / nice staff. I highly suggest you give it a try! You can't do wrong with any of the food options!

Love this homey thai restaurant in a super random plaza with lots of asian food. The service is great and the workers are extremely friendly and attentive! Food was delicious, we got the pad thai, tom yum soup, crab fried rice and mango sticky rice. My favorite dishes were the pad thai and tom yum soup, they both were super flavorful and authentic. The crab fried rice was just okay in my opinion and the rice in the mango sticky rice was too liquidy I didn't love it.

I recently tried the Pad Thai here, and it was just okay. It wasn't bad by any means, but it felt pretty generic and didn't really stand out compared to other places I've been. The portion size was decent, and everything seemed fresh, but I was hoping for a bit more depth and character in the flavor. Overall, it's an average option if you're in the area, but not something I'd specifically come back for if I'm craving a really standout Pad Thai. I did however try my boyfriend's garlic pepper chicken dish and I did enjoy that better than my pad Thai to the point he served me some on a separate plate. Staff is nice and welcoming!

They don't charge extra for side sauces like a lot of places do which is probably my biggest peeve so I'm really happy about that! The pad thai is so flavorful and the pad see ew has that "wok" taste to it that's so good. The papaya salad is SPICY so if you can't take the heat make sure you tell them. This is a go to place for weeknight take out dinner. Only complaint is the parking lot is a pain, it's always absolutely packed and hard to get a spot. Obviously not the restaurant's fault so I'm not rating lower, just a heads up for others.

I ordered to pick up orchid pork Thai rice, orange chicken, yellow curry and wontons. The orange chicken was dry and did not appear to be recently cooked (even though it was Saturday and before noon. The orchid rice was good, not great. The yellow curry was very tasty and fresh but I asked for mild and it was pretty spicy. Not much chicken in it. I probably will not be back considering it cost $60 .

I ordered the papaya salad and basil eggplant w/ tofu. The papaya salad is delicious. I love the flavor of the dressing. It's tangy and sweet and a little spicy (you can adjust the spice level). The spicy basil eggplant is also delicious

Just had dinner here with my bestie. Staff is very friendly and welcoming. The small restaurant is very clean and as we walked in we smelled the fragrant aroma of stir fried meats and curry. Smelled amazingly. I meant to take pictures of the food before we ate it....it was so good. -I loved the beef pad see ew, beef was tender and noodles were soft and flavorful. -Thai sausage was new to me and it tastes good, similar taste to the Vietnamese grilled pork sausage. -fried calamari was super crunchy, I just wished the tempura they used was seasoned. -chicken yellow curry was delicious, my friend couldn't stop eating it. I also ordered a mango sticky rice to go. Overall, it's a good spot for some Thai food.

A family-owned Thai restaurant near West Covina gave us a little surprise! They close at 9:30pm, which is great for me after shop. Everything we ordered was decent, but the Panang curry was definitely the highlight. The flavor was rich and delicious, and it paired perfectly with steamed rice. The staff were very nice and welcoming. One small suggestion would be to clean the floor more often when tables are cleared, as it would make the dining area feel even more comfortable. Overall, a pleasant Thai spot and a nice surprise in the area.

My neighbor and I were in the area and looking for a dinner spot. We didn't want to over order so we picked out my favorite dish chicken Pad Thai and shrimp fried rice and also two Thai iced teas. They sure cook very fast because within a few minutes we had the Pad Thai then came the rice. I had ordered the Pad Thai medium chili level which was a bit too hot for my neighbor, but fine with me. We come here pretty regularly and the service is always amazing. They are quick to serve. We get in and out in a lunch hour. The food is always on point. A solid choice for Thai food! I usually come here and order food to go. The Pad See Ew and the American Broccoli dishes are some of my favorites. The interior is small but can fit folks should you decide to dine in. Service here is fast and friendly. I've been coming to Orchid Thai on and off for about 6 years whenever I'm in the area, and it never disappoints. This time I ordered the Tom Kha soup with chicken at a mild spice level, and it was absolutely delicious. The flavors were rich, creamy, and perfectly balanced--not too spicy but still full of that comforting Thai flavor. The portion was generous too--it easily fed two people! The staff is always friendly, but I have to give a special shoutout to Pam. She is so sweet and always greets you with a warm smile, which makes the experience even better. Definitely a spot I'll keep coming back to! read more

Anyway, if you see Zhu Chicken, you are at the right restaurant! I got a crispy pork rice noodle with pickled bamboo and possibly one other meat. I can't recall. The crispy pork is a must. It's so fatty, but paired with a pickled veggie and that super spicy green sauce from the sauce bar, it was amazing. They give you a vinegar sauce, and you can add as much garlic, cilantro, and hot sauce as you want from the hot sauce bar. I went for a briney, spicy flavor with a ton of garlic and cilantro, and the resulting combination is something I still think about. Rice noodles were nothing special imo. They were soft and slippery, but didn't really soak up the sauce. You just have to get a perfect bite (or in my case gobble) that has all the layers of warm soft noodle, fatty rich meat, and spicy/sour notes from the sauces. I can't really compare this dish to anything, so I highly recommend coming here if you want something unique and bursting with flavor.

However, if you want to try something a little different, there are some "traditional" Kaiping specialties that I haven't seen on menus anywhere else. I've always come with my family and have received great service because my dad knows the staff. They speak my home dialect so I'm sure there's some bias there. Foodwise, I've tried quite a bit and haven't had any dishes that didn't hit the mark for me. Standouts for me are the big claypot yellow eel rice, their specialty roast goose (the 2 dishes just listed may require a preorder but again, my dad usually handles all the ordering), their beansprout with pig intestine, and their egg plant with salted fish. The claypot rice is ordered by the kilo so really is a big party dish but has nice succulent pieces of eel, really well cooked rice, and then of course the crispy rice at the bottom. The goose is very flavorful and not super gamey, it has more of a meaty texture and bite than the younger poultry an American pallette may be used to so word of warning. I really like the beansprout with pig intestine, again not really gamey but very savory with very tender, fatty pieces of intestine (highly recommend even if you're hesitant with intestine). The eggplant with salted fish is also intensely savory with a pungency from the salted fish that may seem like a lot but melds really well with the sauce and overall flavor of the dish. Though I haven't tried every dish on their menu, I've tried quite a bit and can confidently say they'll bring out some tasty Chinese dishes.

It's a sort of sour and spicy soup with coconut milk and chicken. Was in the area a last Friday with friends.... decided to have a dinner there. Food was surprisingly good...I loved green curry it was right spicy... friends had Pad Thai and Pad See-ew with flat noodles they said they were very good...as well. I also had Thai ice tea which was so nice (not too sweet. Service was great despite they were kind of busy....our server was very attractive. I'm very disappointed with my recent order. I ordered tom kha soup with shrimp and a side of rice, and unfortunately both were not fresh. The shrimp appeared black and old; I tried one bite and had to spit it out. The rice also seemed old and was not edible. I ended up wasting over $20 on this order. This was a very unpleasant experience, and I won't be ordering again. I hope the restaurant takes food quality more seriously. read more

The Pad Thai fish is really good! Normally I get it with chicken but decided to get the fish. The fillet was very soft and melted in your mouth! I'll try to fish more often. My friend got the Seafood Tom Yum soup in that huge hot pot. We got our free Thai Teas and that paired well with our meal. OMG, this place is so underrated. I've been coming here for the past couple years and ordering pad se ew and it's been consistently good each time. I know my asian foods (I've eaten in Rowland Heights, Irvine, San Diego, Alhambra) and this place beats them all. Everyone Ive taken here loves it. If it ever closes down I'll be so sad. read more

my family and i stop by for LUNCH once in awhile if we cant think of anything else, the food is good and service is good. i rated 4 stars because it gets really warm in the restaurant and having the a/c a little cooler would be nice for us spicy and soup eaters! will be back again :) read more

Absolutely love this Orchid Thai location! My family has been going to years and we have never been disappointed, on top of the food being amazing the service is always fast and friendly. Kim is our go-to when we want some recommendations and she always suggests something delicious. read more

I tried takeout from this spot, and man, their pad see ew was a total letdown. The beef was crazy chewy, like you're chewing forever and still can't bite through it. Plus, it had way too much fat. If you're going for it, go with the chicken next time for a better experience! read more

I've been eating there since i started working near this area. The food that I always order is very good. My co-workers orders different food and they all taste good. I love the Orchid House Special which is either pork or beef. The meat is well cooked and I love the taste. read more

Good that place that's casual and simple, have a feeling of fast-food place than a restaurant. Waiters are attentive of you at all times, first time there and I was very impressed, this place will become one of my regulars and will recommend to friends and family. read more

Thai is my favorite food and this place is super delicious. The Tom yum soup is very satisfying and my favorite dish spicy doodle is perfect amount of spicy . Thai tea was very creamy and refreshing so sweet. Definitely coming back will bring my kiddos next time. read more
