Trash customer service, I was never greeted or seated, I set there for about 20 mins until I decided to leave

Food was good, short staffed but still polite. No lack in service only waited 15 of the 30 minutes they told me.

I have been coming here with my family for the last 6-7 years. Used to be a great place to grab a bite. But for the past year, the food has been horrendous, service has been terrible and now they even have security in the restaurant!! Tonight I took my family here for dinner. They brought each of our meals out 15 MINUTES APART! Food was OLD AND COLD, like it's been sitting forever. Every waitress in the building was on their cellphones while people complained about service, food and wait times. When I complained, I was told they could "make it again or take it off the bill". Nothing was taken off the bill. Never again will we spend a dime with the franchise. Maybe if they didn't hire ratchet waitresses with 4 inch fingernails, who sit on their phones instead of waiting on their customers- they'd have a better shout at performing the basics for their customers! read more

Usually satisfied with Chili's. But my girlfriend and I went back there today, and were told that the wait would be 20 to 30 minutes. It is now an hour later, we still havent been seated, and they did not update us that the wait would be longer. On top of that, they have a way to see how many parties are ahead of you, and we watched multiple parties walk in and be seated without the tracker going down. This Chili's was an extreme disappointment tonight. UPDATE: It has now been an hour and 10 minutes and we were removed from the waitlist. We will be taking our business elsewhere. We, meaning my family ordered takeout Chili's Saturday night. I ordered the double 1 pound bacon barbecue burger. I have no idea why I ordered such a big burger. This burger is a monster sandwich and it's very good. Now the downside of my meal, the French fries were terrible. I am sick and tired of restaurants who cannot have decent fries. Honestly, most restaurants take the cheap route and provide inferior fries. I accounted for the fact that taking fries home can be tricky, but these fries just didn't cut it. My other complaint, I ordered coleslaw, so I expected a order to coleslaw, not a tablespoon of slaw, that was unacceptable and it pissed me off because the coleslaw was good. My wife order the salmon meal with rice and asparagus, she thought the asparagus were a bit wimpy. The salmon was good though. Went for a late dinner. Service started a bit slow but our server was very good. Food was hot and fresh when it came to the table. Server definetly earned the 28% tip i left! She checked on us often was knowledgeable with menu items, was polite and up beat. I would definetly come back. read more

Friendly service. Decent food for a chain. My fries weren't hot. But the place is just dirty. Like it's been washed with the same mop and towel for years. The tables had a film on them of some sort of slight stickiness. Stools and booths had crumbs on them. Just generally not very clean. When I walked in there was no waiting and the place was not busy at all. There were a total of three tables that were occupied and five staff members in the section were I was seated. After a total of 15 minutes my daughter stopped an employee and asked if our server would be coming to give us menus and water. The young lady found our server and informed her she had a table that was waiting for some assistance. The same young lady who flagged down our server (who never addressed us) noticed that we still were not being helped took the initiative to take our order. My daughter and I were grateful of her acknowledging us because we we had a long day and we were tired and this was our first meal of the day. When we received our food it was cold and too salty. Then to add to injury the original waiter that was suppose to serve us came by our table and asked who took our order. The young lady then proceeded to find the nice young lady who took our order and chastised her about taking her table. The young lady was visibly shaken and upset by being chastised. My daughter and I felt bad about this because the girl who helped us went out of her way to provide the best customer service to us under the circumstances of us never being acknowledged in the first place. In all honesty we should have not paid for the bill due to poor customer service and food that was not good enough to eat. I would have rather given the full amount of my bill to the young lady that serviced us, because she was being a team player and didn't deserve to harrassed by her colleague in a workplace that did not value customer service or professionalism. It was only me and my fiancé coming in for dinner and we were told a 15 minutes wait. 3 parties of 5 or more came in after and they were told a 20 minute wait but all of them got seated way before us. Then our server was absent (which I understand considering they were under staffed) but I was looking around and most other tables were getting drinks and food and we were left waiting. Tried to order a glass of wine and was told my id was fake and that the secretary of state on the id was wrong even though Alexi Giannoulias is the current secretary of state in illinois which is what was on my real id that i just got in january. They tried to confiscate it until I argued it and told them I'd get the cops there, then she chose to give it back to me but still refused to serve me my drink. We waited at least 30 minutes and we're not attended to so we left and went to another restaurant. I don't know how or why this restaurant stays open. I had a great experience here, coming on a Thursday afternoon, while going errand running in the area with a friend. I ordered the chicken BLT, which came with avocado. Fries were ordered as a side, which I wouldn't personally recommend, but that's only because I don't like potatoes too much. My friend ordered the fajitas, and it came with all of the sides; pico, sour cream, guacamole, and of course some warm tortillas w/ chicken. I'm not usually a fan of the fajitas myself, but even I wouldn't mind giving these a try the next time I come to Chili's. The waitress we had was prompt and efficient with our orders, and we weren't left waiting for anything! My friend, who usually asks for lemon w/ his water, was given not just a lemon - but a full cup of them. I will definitely be looking forward to making a return visit. Oh man where do I even start. Trifling as fuck! We were put on a waitlist that was "20-30 mins" which we didn't mind. We waited 35 minutes in the car and decided it was long enough and went in to see what the issue was since we were suppose to receive a text message when a table was ready for us. Mind you, it was just the 3 of us, my boyfriend and his mother and I. The host at the door said "oh sorry, not sure why you didn't get a text, we had a table ready for you guys." Alright, that's fine, we got seated right away- at a booth that was obviously not wiped down. It was so sticky! We were sitting there for about 15 minutes- no one paid us any mind and then a server finally turned around (after passing us by multiple times) and said if we wanted drinks. We told him we were also ready to order. He took our drinks and food order down, didn't give us any silverware, didn't take the menus or anything and said he'd be right back. We waited another 15 minutes, and nothing still. No drinks. No appetizers. Nothing. He has by then passed us multiple times and checked in all the other parties around us and ignored us. I don't know about you guys but we were just done at that point and walked out. But never ever coming back to this specific Chili's. Do better. OHHH I almost forgot. While we were waiting for someone to take our drink orders- a crowd of probably 15 workers came out of the back and all joined in and were singing "Happy Birthday" to the party seated behind us. This is a 3 on the chain restaurant scale (not overall). We went their for lunch today and I ordered the ancho chili salmon. It was cooked well, a decent quality piece of meat, and seasoned tastefully. I've found salmon can be over salted sometimes but this was good. The service was friendly and attentive. read more

This Chili's is the closest chain restaurant to my place, and we found ourselves wanting something quick and easy. I've never encountered troublesome service here, it's always been quick and uncomplicated. Our server was on her last day of training and was very kind. I do agree with other reviewers saying that they should post their HH specials, especially on a Sunday - their $3 rails, wines and margs would bring people in! Now don't judge us.. but we split an app sampler and a Sante Fe quesadilla. We got the spin/artichoke dip, the southwestern eggrolls and the buffalo wings. All three were obviously frozen and microwaved. The buffalo wings had no sauce on them - literally orange and dry. The eggrolls were pretty dried out. The full size/full price quesadilla was fine, had a nice little kick. They seemed to fill the plate up with tons of other stuff, including a liquidy bowl of beans? I wasn't sure if they were meant to be eaten alone or dipped or what... strange. Like i said, service was fine and food was fine enough, but I walked out past the 12 obese people and swore never to come back. read more

Our visit on 1/18/23 was awful. After a 20 minute wait, finally was seated but a server never acknowledged us or came over to take our order. Manager said they were short-staffed but several employees were observed standing around chatting with one another. We had a gift card to use. One of the worst dining experiences in quite a while. The place was dirty, sticky stuff on tables, food and lettuce stuck to chairs, not a good start. The only reason this didn't get 1 star is our server was great and friendly and burgers were ok, maybe a 3-star burger. My wife got the chicken bacon ranch quesadillas and they were chewy and cold. Won't give up on Chili's as we've had good good and better experiences before but will never come to this location again, will make the extra drive to Brookfield next time we get a gift card. read more

We reluctantly visited the Chilies at 1601 Miller Park Way W last Friday the 18th of October. We were reluctant because in the past we have been treated very poorly by the bartender. She is an obese woman who dresses very sloppy where her close barely fit her because of her size. I only describe her because of the image she presents and so you know who I am talking about. In the past we have come in to that location because it is closer to our home but we will go to another location farther south in the future, maybe. On those visits she has been neglectful and selective on who she cares for. She seemed short with us and didn't seem to care about serving us. That Friday I started choking and asked for some water because my drink glass was empty. She said In a minute and proceeded to do other things as I coughed. She made drinks, talked to others, played on her phone and the register. The task of getting me water is a 5 second job and it was not a want but a need at the time to help me stop coughing. After about 4 minutes I asked again and she said " I told you I'll get it in a minute, I do things in order". She took another minute as I was trying to clear my throat. She gave me water but didn't bother to ask if we wanted more drinks or anything else for the rest of the night. I spoke to the MGR. and he compt. me my meal. We were so uncomfortable, we left early. As we stood outside the door saying our goodbyes, another guy who was at the bar came out and commented to us about her bad service so I guess I can say she treats others just as poor. read more

I called as usual when I arrived and the clerk said I had to come in and get it since they were open. I complained to the manager on duty and she told me I should have asked if I could still do curbside when I placed the order. I won't be back to that place! read more

Even though they only had two servers, the establishment was near empty yet it took over an hour for me and two other people to get our food. After over an hour we find out there was a glitch in the system and our food wasn't even made yet! I ordered buffalo wings with blue cheese and some of their hottest sauce on the side so I could try it as well as a mango margarita... I got all my wings covered in the hottest sauce, ranch instead of blue cheese, and a strawberry margarita.... they clearly didn't listen AT ALL since everything was wrong... my waiter said he could have some new wings to me in two minutes. 15 minutes later while everyone is finishing eating I received my wings and they were too hot to eat so I had to wait longer. Absolutely terrible experience and I will never be back, how can you get absolutely NOTHING right on a simple order? Then instead of asking if I wanted a second margarita after I drank the one I got they took the glass and walked off... what if I wanted to order another drink? They didn't have the light and airy chili's chips. The chips were thick and over fried and brown.. The salsa was flavorless. the chicken fajitas were hot and just ok. I was there at 1230. Both trash cans out front were overflowing and there were only 4 cars in the parking lot. The doors walking in looked like they hadn't been washed in a while. So, I live sorta in suburbia. Which means that going out for a quick weeknight bite might involve a chain restaurant. Yes, I know chains are like the Velveeta (not really real!) of the restaurant world and there are oodles of other choices, but my minimum expectations are usually met and it's easy and usually fairly cheap. My bar for Chili's is set remarkably low. But tonight, it was a lofty and unachievable goal. Drinks: 3 stars Although the drinks were cheap thanks to Happy Hour specials, they took way to long to come out, considering how not busy it was. Menu: 2 stars Did something change about the menu? I feel like there is less on it and they got a new copywriter that is out to sabotage them. At least try to make the food sound interesting. I mean, on a menu of 30 or so items, to make none of them really sounds appealing is a feat. Also, for the record, "taco seasoned ground beef" is something most of us can do at home. Also, I must lodge a complaint about the pictures. I understand about the photo staging - using different food vessels, making the most appealing looking bite, etc. I do, however, believe that the portions should be similar. The photos only exacerbated my disappointment with the lacking portions (keep reading). Food: 1 star We had the pretzels for an appetizer which were tasty, as expected. It comes with cheese sauce, which is basically nacho cheese without the peppers or chilis. And they give you only enough for about half the pretzels. Husband had the slider burgers and they actually got his custom order right, and he thought they were pretty good. But to his point, he said it was hard to screw up tiny cheeseburgers. I had the fajitas combo - chicken and steak. I've had the fajitas before and it has always been a sizzling pile of meat and vegetables. This time, it was sizzling, but it was hardly a pile. A 'scant grouping' would describe it better. There was a piece of steak about the size of the tiny half of my palm that was actually cooked fairly decently. Then there was a chicken cutlet that was moist, but that was it's only redeeming quality. It was pure chicken white. It had not seen the hot side of a grill or pan directly. And it managed to have no flavor whatsoever, save for the black pepper sprinkled on it. How does fajita meat have no flavor? I didn't think it was possible. Blargh. The fajitas came with 3 tortillas, and a little tower of toppings which included: chili lime sour cream, guacamole, pico de gallo, salsa, pickled jalapeño, and shredded cheese. Again, the portions were scant. Service: 2 stars We were seated and profusely apologized to that our computer gizmo was given to another table. Three people actually tried to get us one. No really, we didn't come to a restaurant to play computer games - we're not 8 years old. Our server was friendly. He failed to mention anything about the Happy Hour specials to me and there was no signage to tell me so I had to ask A. if it was still happy hour and B. what the happy hour specials were. He was pleasant and friendly enough about ordering and delivering food, and even checked in at an appropriate time. When I refused to eat any more of my bad fajitas leaving most of the chicken behind, he asked if I would like a box. I said, "No, the chicken was pretty bad actually." He said he was sorry to hear that. I asked him if it looked like my chicken had been grilled at all? He said "No, not really. Maybe a tiny bit." If you say so. It wasn't until I was signing the bill that I went through the items, and son of a gun, there was an "entertainment fee" tucked up in the middle in between some stuff. As a cynical business person, I have to assume this was an idea cooked up at corporate - tuck in the entertainment fee and most people won't even notice it. This fee is for the use of the computer gizmos, even though the games that are on the gizmos also cost money. We asked about the entertainment fee, which he replied was for the use of the computer gizmo....oh...wait...you don't even have one. Nope. He took the receipt as if to correct it, and then realized the card had already been charged. He struggled with what to do about it now, and then asked if he could just give us a dollar. Um, sure. He proceeded to take a dollar from his tip on another table and give us the dollar and a computer gizmo. I'm not sure what to call this category: 1 star You get one star for telling me to have a good night as we're walking out. You get no more stars because when I said to the manager looking character, "It was pretty bad tonight. Very disappointing." Her response was "I'm sorry to hear that. Good night." Nothing else...no questions...just a dismissal. That makes an average of 1.8 stars. I want to be able to count on chains. I guess even Velveeta gets moldy sometimes. read more

We went here for some last minute Valentine's Day dinner. Everywhere else had a huge wait, but here we called ahead and by the time we got there we were seated. Did the 2 for $20 dinner deal. The Guacamole was great. I had the ribs, but wasn't a big fan. Not much meat on them. The coleslaw was no good either. My other half had the fiesta chicken which was decent. Not bad for $40 walking out the door, drinks and tip included. Our server did a great job, and we had a pretty good experience. Not making this a habit tho, that's for sure. read more

My family and I go to Chili's often when we do not want to cook at home. They have some really amazing healthy choices, which are hard to find these days... especially when you want To-Go options. The food here is ultimately forgettable, but let's not pretend that anyone goes to Chili's for the James Beard award winning chefs or Michelin star menu. It was edible and we didn't have to send anything back. Our bill of $64 was crazy though. I thought that we were trading great food for lower prices but I was sorely mistaken. High prices for subpar food. I'll probably never return. The saving grace was our server Dominic. He was very down to earth and didn't come off as phony.
