Happy hour wings
Rob H.

Stopped by for a beer and to watch sports at the bar. I was shocked to see a steady amount of people eating in the dining area . Decor was old and run down but as expected from chilis. Suprised to see some cheap beer deals and a wing happy hour. Bartender provided good service and poured cold beer. No complaints here.

Not bad for a chilis. Easy parking in the lot and everyone was pretty friendly. The service is quick but the food is pretty much what you'd expect from a chain. The steak for the fajitas was borderline inedible but the chicken was decent. The cheese that came with it was more like wax than cheese. Not great. Decent salad options.

Ribs were so dry! Inedible. Like rawhide. They used to be great. I'm so disappointed.

Chilis always hits! The food is always fresh, lunch specials, happy hour, drink specials... I mean what else do you need? The service was great during my visit, no complaints! Definitely recommend!

I took the train up one day, but unfortunately I didn't revisit the town for another 17 years. My Mexican House was a random stop that turned out to be great. I've always been into tacos and in recent years gained a nearly dangerous fascination with cemitas, and a result I may have missed out on many great Mexican entrees over the years. In the chuleta a la diabla, the pork chops were perfectly done and the sauce was an awesome incendiary concoction somewhat like mole. The chips were warm and fresh, the salsa was zingy and the service was outstanding.

We immediately ordered four margaritas, which were good, just not the best ones I've ever had. For appetizers we all split the cheese empanadas, which were actually pretty amazing in my opinion. The portions were pretty generous, so all of us were able to have about 1.5 empanadas. The empanadas were served with red and green sauce, the red sauce is SPICY so be aware! For main course, I ordered the vegetarian chimichanga which I LOVED. It was so good and it tasted freshly made. Overall, was very happy with my experience here. Its not the fanciest restaurant but it was perfect for national margarita day!

For dinner we got the Triple Play and the Steak Fajitas which were both delicious and good sized portions. The blood orange margarita was also delicious, recommended by our server. Ambiance was nice! THE GOOD ----------------…read more+ Very, verrrry solid Mexican food. ++++ Complimentary tortilla chips and salsa was typical of starter chips and salsa at most Mexican restaurants. ++++ Brisket Empanadas with queso and salsa was fantastic, but there were only 2???? For $15, we expected at least 3 empanadas, but, nevertheless, they were very tasty and filled to the brim with brisket. They also came with queso and salsa for dipping. ++++ Tacos de Amor special with grilled skirt steak tips, garlic shrimp on corn tortillas was verrrrry good. The meats had delicious flavor and there was no skimping, however, we figured after our meal that the chimichurri was actually missing :( ++++ Fish Tacos with beer battered cod filets was excellent! It was topped with jalapeño tartar sauce and slaw and I absolutely devoured it! The fish was crispy and cooked well. ++++ Kids Cheese Quesadillas was as you would expect for kids quesadillas. They were super thin, with a layer of cheese, but our kids enjoyed it. + Waiter was great. He checked in on us a few times and made sure we had everything we needed. + Food arrived quickly. + Restaurant was VERY spacious with 2 separate dining rooms. + Plenty of parking outside as the restaurant is part of a super large strip mall. + There are a few large TVs in the dining room with the bar. THE NOT SO GOOD ---------------------------- - As mentioned above, the missing chimichurri on the Tacos de Amor was a miss. The tacos were good, but definitely would have been even better with the sauce. MIXED THOUGHTS --------------------------- = Nada. RANDOM OBSERVATIONS -------------------------------------- = Nada.

Service was quiet but nice, nothing to complain about. You order at the counter and then take a seat. The menu consists of tacos, burritos, quesadillas, nachos, salads and more (plus a kids menu); portions aren't huge and prices range from $10-16. Tacos and burritos come in different varieties and with chips and salsa. I got the soft corn veggie tacos, which came with two. A little spicy though not super flavorful or stuffed. The mad dog burrito which is a mixture of chicken and beef was pretty good though not super hot. The quesadillas are a few dollars more expensive and come in a 10 inch tortilla so perhaps it's more filling. They also advertise family taco night food. Only one other person came in while we were dining in on a Sunday afternoon. Pay cash to avoid a the credit card fee. It's connected to a Burger place, which also had no customers. Their leadership,…read morein some indirect fashion, has led to the craftsmanship of El Azteca - A slight chain of Mexican restaurants in a 30 min radius of Bergen County. I will copy and paste this review across the Park Ridge and Mahwah locations so emphasize my appreciate for their consistency in providing great Mexican food. If you are consistently performing, Linguini will take care of you. Like I've taken care of many others. I will bring you to the top with me. If you backstab me. Oh if you come for me at the top, you will reach an abyss so deep you may end up digging to China. Don't test me. I'm not that guy. Anyways, I've tried a lot from Azteca. Most of what they've got is a 4/4.5 out of 5 but I'm rounding up for the full experience. Phenomenal price point. Variety of food that all comes out well. Performs well in restaurant and when the food travels. Friendly staff. And local business of which I support. I suffer from GGS - Good Guy Syndrome, sorry not sorry. My motha, bless her soul. I legit mean bless her soul. Be nice. Pray. Bow down to her. She doesn't eat much food but she even loved the taco salad here so much that she asked to go again. So much protein, so well seasoned. Just as their other options showcase as well. My personal favs are the Kash Burrito and the, what I'd call "trademark" Cod Burrito. Never have seen it elsewhere like this. The wrap is toasted wonderfully, great rice, great salsa. I mean this place just does it real well. I've had tacos, appetizers, desserts. Never let down. El Azteca is consistently good. Constantly pushing out quality product. Is it the best Mexican I've had? No. But it's the most underrated. Being a consistent 4, makes you a five in my books. It's like that girl that's occasionally a 6 or occasionally an 9... you can't bring her home. But that girl that's consistently a 7 or an 8? You let her meet the fam. I don't where I'm going with this one. All I'll say is STOP. Stop going to Chipotle, Bubbakoo's, etc. when you could be supporting a better quality and friendlier priced location in El Azteca. Thank you in advance. I will be watching - LB.
