We ordered a 10 oz steak and they clearly gave us the 6 oz steak. Told the server who was amazing btw. To see if the manager could just charge us for the 6oz. I was just here with my fiance. We wanted to try the new Chili restaurant since it's been awhile since we went to one. The place looked pretty busy but unfortunately nobody even bothered to seat us. We were waiting and waiting. The waitresses were serving and even looked at us. They didn't even bother to call a host or some help at least. We were standing there for awhile which was pretty embarassing. We ended up just leaving and went to the place across. I am leaving no stars. Where do I begin, I will say this waiting 40 minutes for my table was the best part. The hostess was very respectful and a waitress named Shannon, was great. But did I mention she wasn't even our server! We are loyal chilis customers, we frequent chilis whenever possible. And tonight we met a server named Madeline and let's start there. She took our drink order which took 30 minutes just for water. Then we ordered 2 appetizers and never received until we complained to Laura the manager (I'm assuming) she then brought cold fried pickles. Then proceeded to say my friends queso was coming which obviously it wasn't because it didn't come out until 5 minutes later. We then said if our entrees are not coming we'd like to cancel the order and was told we will take off the appetizers and give you dessert. Our food we waited 45 minutes for AFTER ordering our appetizers that we had to ask to order. My child was the ONLY one who ate and we were going to spend over $100 and our bill was only taken down to $80.99. I never would not tip but I didn't tip because at this point in all my years of being in the food service industry I have never experienced this type of situation to make me so mad I didn't even want to be there anymore. We will not be coming back to the Newark chilis so long as Madeline is still working there. Now my family and I are headed to sonic to eat. went to Chili's for grandfather's birthday. Seven in our group and we got there by 7:15. we were seated right away and waited was very prompt. We had ordered by 7:45. by 8:15 no food so we asked for chips and salsa. they came but we had to ask again for small plates, then after questioning about dinner, it came but no silverware. again had to ask. about 9 o'clock waiter started clearing table and took my plate before I was finished. It wasn't crowded and waited was very polite. steaks were very much over cooked, vegetables were very cold and dry. kids like this place as I guess if you only want tacos or other casual Mexican food it's fine. Of course my friend and I decide to come on the busiest night: a Saturday. I didn't mind the wait. We got a table quicker than expected. My margarita was eh - not spectacular. The service was slow because of all of the people, which we didn't mind. The appetizer was delicious, but my entree wasn't as great. A busboy, I'm assuming, brought out our food. I got the steak and shrimp fajita combo but the kid didn't include my tortillas. I patiently waited for the waitress to get back, but she took a good ten minutes. I even tried to wave down a few people, but was ignored. My food got cold while waiting and I had to eat cold fajitas when I received my tortilla. Sloooooow....We waited over half an hour to get our dinner order taken. It was over an hour and a half from the time we were seated till we got our food! The food didn't even all come out together! One of the dinners came out about 10 minutes before the others. The ribs were not nearly as good as other Chili's I have been to. The worst thing is that they were not even that busy. Only about half full. A manager didn't even stop by to see how we were doing like they usually do at other Chili's. Next time I think we will be eating at a different restaurant when we are in the Christiana Mall area. read more

Long wait time to get through line and we were 2nd in line! One girl was playing with her phone while getting someone's food -- gross! Manager was nowhere to be found. No one was cooking. No ground beef and ran out of steak. All our food was cold. The seating area was absolutely filthy! Chili's 25 years ago was the best burger place and Tex-Mex restaurant in the USA, today this place is just another restaurant. In fairness, the new Chili's near Christiana Mall has improved some since opening and hopefully this place continues to get better. read more

The service at this place is horrendous. The employees are more concerned with making themselves drinks and eating behind the bar. My food took forever and the women behind the bar with the blue tie die head band was not friendly to me or the couple next to me. They also ran out of some food. read more

I hate to be one to complain, I really do. Ive worked in the food industry & customer service for years. However the food was just horrible. I do not recommend this place. I used to like it when my sister worked there years ago but I got Alfredo. Came out Luke warm and the sauce didn't even taste anything like Alfredo it tasted like the sauce out of the jar. We dined here last night and were very disappointed. I realize Covid has caused problems for the restaurant industry but this restaurant has problems that go beyond Covid. The host seemed very disorganized and there is not enough waitstaff. Several of the tables were closed simply due to not enough staff. We understand that and were patient with the wait times and slow service. The main problem is the food. Two of our party ordered chicken tacos. The tacos were dry and and the quality of the dish was lacking. Basically flavorless and unappealing. The bean were overloaded with liquid and also flavorless. The rice was the only decent thing on the plate. One of our party had a mushroom burger which was tasteless. The fries were good. Our server was barely pleasant. She looked tired and overworked. Waiting all day to go to Chilis !!! One of my favorite places to eat!! Not today !! We got my favorite southwest egg rolls AWESOME.. dinner was pick 2 smokehouse .. Got ribs, cheesey bacon chicken that also comes with coated Corn on the Cobb, fries and pickles.. Starting eating ribs and chicken .. Then I bit into the coated corn on the cob and pulled a hair out of my mouth .. So grossed out I couldn't eat anything else.. My husband finished his fajitas which were awesome.. Manager came over and apologized and made me a new corn .. So I asked for the bill thinking something would have been discounted.. Nothing was.. This made my husband mad since I couldn't eat the rest of my meal.. He called the manager back and said I don't think we should have to pay for her meal.. He discounted us 1/2 of the price for my meal saying he took off the app.. NOT.. He said he was in the business for so many years and this happens all the time .. Well sir so have I !!! I have been waiting over a week to receive a credit see I ordered online and I paid online using my card and it went through sent me a receipt and a time when it would be ready when I arrived they said they did jot have my order which of course was weird I had a receipt and it was showing on my online bank statement the manager sandy said they did not have it and they made my order as I waited and she asked me to pay I showed her where I did and she stated since they did not have it they could not cash it out at the end of the day so it would credit my account and just the one I paid for at the location would charge well it is a week later and still no credit no call backs and I have called several times and even went back up there to show her again I have not received my credit. The fact that I am still waiting and when I contact them I am being told about a lunch rush or a dinner rush I truly do not care if you had given me my credit when I was supposed to receive it our maybe be a what's of how your system works I would not be waiting on this credit that should not have been charged since you did not have the order in the first place. I will know have to take time out of my day again to go back to this place and get my credit for being overcharged. I'm done being patience I was not rude and I was understanding things happen technical issue however being brushed to the side and having to follow up with your establishments issues is unacceptable. read more
