Should I really rate the food? It's Chillis, they just heat it up anyway... Right? The service usually sucks at this location. I don't recall ever having fast, friendly service. I ate here on 12/7/15. Was by myself, sat in the bar area, dinner time. It took about 10 minutes for anyone to acknowledge that I was there. After I finally got my beer, the male bar tender seemed bothered that I was there and taking up a table with just myself. Especially when I ordered a second beer...So I ordered and paid through the kiosk at the table and left. Sorry to bother you man! Smoking is allowed in the bar area, and it's a place where regulars meet daily and everyone knows each other. Nothing wrong with either of those things, just know going in, they will get preferential treatment in the bar area. read more

The restaurant floor was filthy- the bathroom had no soap, paper dispenser didn't work. Dead roaches on the bathroom floor. I will never go back. If the restaurant is filthy, the kitchen must be also. read more

My wife took me there for my birthday. Got there, most tables were open. We were told there would be a 3-5 minute wait because they only had 1 server. We could see 3 moving around. After about 15 minutes, we got seated. The server said she'd be right back to take our drink order. About 5 minutes later, she came back and took it. My wife wanted iced tea, but the tea machine was down, so she got a coke. I ordered a frozen margarita. About 10 minutes later, the bartender showed up and told me the frozen margarita machine was down, and asked if on the rocks was ok. I said yeah, whatever. Right after that, the server showed back up to take our order. My wife ordered fajitas. Ok, no problem. I ordered the 3 for Me. Since I'm in Chili's Rewards, I get free chips and salsa, so I told the server. Then I ordered my 3 for me with a house salad. She argued with me telling me the chips and salsa could be a side for that combo. Yes, but I wanted an appetizer we could both eat. I finally said, "Fine, bring whatever you want." 10 minutes later, I get the house salad; no chips and salsa. 5 parties that came in after us got their food first, then we got ours. Since I didn't get the chips and salsa, I said I'd take the dessert for my birthday gift instead when we were done (no refills offered on the coke). The server chose the reward on my phone for me. I would have chosen the "dessert with purchase of an entree", but she chose the "dessert no purchase needed" option. Removed that as an option for me. The server then rang up the dessert, then started to walk off. I advised her we hadn't even told her what we want. I told her we'd just take a slice of cheesecake. 10 minutes later, as we were leaving, they brought the cheesecake. They boxed it up and saw I had my hands full (wife is disabled on a walker), and never offered a bag to carry it in. Sorriest service I've seen in many years. I try to give restaurants a break because of the staffing shortages, but I feel this whole episode is totally inexcusable from start to finish. read more

There are two types of service at this location: 1.) Poor, and 2.) Non-existent. Chili's is normally a great favorite for dinner on our firm's business trips, and overall the experience is normally pretty great. But after dining at this Mt. Pleasant / Tennison location last evening, it is clear that at least ONE branch does not live up to the Chili's name and reputation. Our waitress, Leslie, was for the most part M.I.A. the entire time we were there. Our orders were a train wreck. Three out of six people ordered the margarita grilled chicken, and all three plates came out wrong. The rice on each was so undercooked that it was crunchy. Leslie did not seem inclined to bring us our second round of drinks, even though they were sitting on the bar in plain view. After 15 long minutes of waiting, we finally went and got the drinks from the bar ourselves. A fourth member of our party of six never got her second vodka club soda at all. After dining, three of us decided to relocate to the bar area for drinks (including the co-worker whose drink Leslie never bothered to bring) mistakenly thinking the service there would be better. We sat down at a high-top table at 7:57pm. At 8:21pm when we STILL had not been greeted, we finally (with some desperation) flagged down a passing waitress--Margo--and asked if she was waiting our section. She offered a false, gritted-teeth smile and--in a tone that clearly indicated we were bothering her--said "Yes, and I'll be right with you" before stalking off without waiting for a response. Margo and what appeared to be every other server in the restaurant had spare time two minutes beforehand to bellow out Happy Birthday to a patron a few tables over from ours, but not ONE of them could be bothered to take 15 seconds in a TWENTY-FOUR MINUTE TIME SPAN to take our beer order?? Really??? Unbelievable. At that point, we decided to leave. On the way out, we asked the hostess, Maggie, for a comment card. I see perfectly well why Maggie is a hostess, because she a) was the most pleasant employee in the restaurant, and b) is apparently the only one who knows how to smile. She kindly explained that the survey would be at the bottom of our receipt. Unfortunately, since we were never WAITED ON in the 24 minutes we sat in the bar area, we didn't HAVE a receipt (the partner of our firm had paid for our meals and had left a half hour before with the dinner receipt). We left and went to a nearby Applebee's, where we were greeted instantly upon walking in the door, and had our drinks on the table less than three minutes later. The attitude of the staff and the quality of service at Applebee's versus Chili's in this town is like comparing NIGHT and DAY. Again -- MOST Chili's locations offer great service and friendly staff. This is not one of them, and it does a discredit to the Chili's name. SUMMARY: PROS: Maggie, the hostess, was friendly. CONS: The quality of service was poor. Bring your own drinks because you will get thirsty before you ever get a re-fill. The waitresses we were stuck with offered either poor service (Leslie), or no service at all and a very poor attitude (Margo). OVERALL RATING: 1 out of 5 stars. read more

Chilis used to be one of my favorite restaurants anywhere really. The last few times that I have gone here I have gotten terrible tasting food. A few weeks ago my burger came out charcoaled and flavorless. Last time I came here my burger came out flavorless and had pools and pools of grease oozing out of it. The fries were very soggy as well. The following day after eating at this establishment last I was sick to my stomach and throwing up. The waiter was not attentive to the table. As my order had to be returned to the kitchen to be cooked correctly and once the meal was return it was still not properly cook as we requested it. I guess my biggest complaint is that the waiter nor the management personnel came and asked if I wanted anything else. read more

I've been going to Chili's in numerous states for nearly thirty years and I come to Mt. Pleasant twice a year for business and have always enjoyed my stay aside from the fact that no matter how many times I go to this Chili's location I receive the worst service I've ever encountered at any restaurant. Consistently (regardless of what server I get) I am treated poorly; I'm treated as though I'm an inconvenience even though I usually place my order to go so that I'm not a nuisance by taking up a table and even though I'm not there long enough to receive much service I tip on average 20 to 30% and yet still they can't escort me out of the door quick enough. I've given up after standing at the "ToGo" register for twenty minutes wanting to place an order only to have several servers walk by, only to ignore me. I'm done. Never again! read more

Current health inspector grade is an A. The last grade was an A. Bar staff is the friendliest in the restaurant. If you can handle the smell of smoke I'd recommend it over the restaurant side. Otherwise standard Chili's. read more

Have been here several times. We have had good service and really bad service. The last time my husband and I went in I ordered a chicken fried steak, fries and Mac n cheese. I have rarely in my life had to send back food. I took a bite of the Mac n cheese and gagged it was so salty. The manager was great and I just got another side. Went to cut my chicken fried steak and one end was raw and bleeding. Manager put in a new order and took that plate away. He was very nice about it and didn't try to make me feel bad (even though I did). My waitress on this visit was wonderful and she got a nice tip from us! Ribs are very nice. Like the sauce but this is a chain restaurant and consistent from city to city. read more

We rarely eat at Chili's in Mount Pleasant and here's why we won't eat there again. The sliders were completely raw on the inside. My sister took a bite and couldn't eat anymore. We showed the waitress and her response was that it was a "little pink." About a year ago (the last time we ate there) I got raw chicken. We won't give them another chance. read more

I went there yesterday for a birthday party and although the customer service was great, the food was not worth my while. My sister ended up really sick all night after eating there. We had got the 2 for $25 meal and the Cheese Fries appetizers were decent. We both got bacon burgers and I asked what was on it and was not informed there was cheese coming with it, so I had to wait even longer for a new burger. The bacon on the burger was good but the meat had no flavor and was very dry, I ended up throwing it away entirely because it was awful. The French fries that came with my burger were very bland. We also ordered peach teas and I had to ask for a new drink entirely because the peach tea tasted entirely like peach syrup, it was too sweet and was going to make me sick if I kept drinking it, and they charged us $3.09 for each peach tea!! We got the cookie dough dessert, and that was about the only decent thing we got all night. Definitely not worth $33. I definitely expected better food. read more

Chili's is always a great choice for travelers, as the food is consistently very good. We stopped here recently on the the way north, and I had an excellent meal, as always. The Caribbean salad and Southwest eggrolls were delicious, and the service was great. You'll never be disappointed at Chili's -- and there are enough selections on the menu to satisfy everyone. read more

We we're there on a Friday night and it was a bit crowded and had to wait about ten minutes to be seated. Upon entering the foyer it reeked of smoke and it really hit you as you as soon as you walked in the main door. The staff was attentive and friendly but the food was mediocre. We got an appetizer of fried pickles which we promptly sent back as they were the worst fried pickles we had ever eaten. I got a half rack of ribs and my wife got the fajitas. The chicken on the fajitas appeared to be processed and not whole breast meat . The portions were small and the fajitas were bland. However the ribs were quite good and the food arrived in a timely manner. Two stars just because of the smoke smell and average food. read more

Stayed at the hotel next door and ordered fajitas to go. Showed up 15 minutes after order as requested, waited 5 minutes for my order. Got back to my room in 1 minute and the food was cold, I don't mean not hot, cold. Additionally I asked for flour tortillas and got corn and the beans were all water. Was here on July 4th. Where should I start? The waitress obviously didn't know what she was doing. She brought our drinks and said she would be back with straws. Also asked for ice. Had to ask again because she forgot. The table side guacamole was probably one avocado. My stepdaughter's medium steak looked like tire tread, my black beans were ice cold and rice was dried out. Chili's menu has plenty of savory dishes from which to tempt one's palette. Particularly good are the burgers and fajitas. The salsa is on point with fresh chips. The kids' menu has enough options to please the pickiest of eaters. The atmosphere is family friendly with the bar area being separated from the main eating area. On a busy day one may have a fair wait for a table or booth and the seating area can get somewhat crowded but the service staff and food make up for any inconvenience. read more

Typical Chili's food, predictable and decent for a chain. What they really need to work on in Mt.Pleasant is the quality of people they hire for service staff. Go in sometime and experience the inattentiveness of the employee's and their inappropriate style of dress, especially the bar staff. For East Texas, I was surprised. read more

I go here almost every week. Their pasta and their honey chipotle crispers are the best! Sometimes they don't cook the meat properly though, but I guess it just depends on who's the cook. Restaurant has been recently remodeled so it looks better. Service is poor but everyone's friendly, other than that i love their food. read more

This is me and my wife's special place to go eat for that special occasion. I wish I had known at first that they served steaks and hamburgers. The Chili's logo kind of gave us the wrong impression for the type of food served here. Regardless, no matter what Chili's restaurant I go to, the service is top notch! read more
