I love Chili's. To no end. I ordered it to-go curbside tonight for the 1st time. And I was not disappointed! Everything was good!

I use to eat Chilis alot! Until there were lots of issues with service and long waits. So a couple weeks ago a friend and I decided to give it a try and meet for lunch. I ordered a Chicken Alfredo . This dish used to be a generous portion. Always came with two pieces of garlic toast. However, when my dish got to the table I couldn't believe it! I was wondering if maybe I had gotten a childs portion. I could see the bottom of the place with one piece of garlic bread. I was never one with a hearty appetite, but usually I needed a box and on this visit this plate didn't even satisfy my appetite. My friend had ordered one of the bowls that have become quite popular. It looked good. It was the size of a cereal bowl. It stated it was really good. I dont mind paying good money for a good portion. This visit wasn't the case. Our bill was around $60.00 and I feel as it I had really overpaid due to portions. Not sure when and if I will return. If I do maybe I'll try something different. read more

Usually restaurant chain places are not my favorite but overall the food was good. For vegans the side corn on the cob with no butter and grilled asparagus and grape tomatoes was great. Server was nice. We were so hungry and the food took more than 25 minutes and my silverware never arrived at the table. Completely disappointed. I got the chicken Cajun pasta for dinner and some of the chicken was still raw. I cut it out and ate what was left, then dessert came out. Strawberry cheesecake. The cheesecake was still frozen but the plate it was served on was piping hot! Lol. Our waitress was pleasant and tried to help. The kitchen staff was ridiculously loud and seemed to be to busy cutting up and joking around to care if the food was made right. read more

The only good thing was the waiter and the chips and guacamole. I know they have no control of children running around but there were literally 10 children just running amok in the whole store, that was the beginning. Now understand we don't go to Chilis any longer because they have become a wanna be Mexican restaurant. We had grandma with us, she is 86 years old and swears by Chili's chili. She says that is what got them started and I really want a bowl. So off to Chili's we go. I ordered prime rib tacos and my husband ordered 1 each of all the enchiladas, cheese, chicken, and beef. Well the enchiladas were awful, except for the chicken one it was okay. Rice was non existent, what he did get was dry. Grandma's chili was so salty she could hardly eat but she did. Now my tacos were suppose to have chiming upright sauce on them and there was none. But there was do much other "stuff" you could not pick them up and eat them. They just feel apart. I decided to save the meat for my dogs, after all it is primerib..lol I ate about a half a taco and only got 8 small pieces of meat out of the 2 and 1/2 tacos. And the rice was very dry dry dry. If your gonna serve something different make sure it's good. You should replace with regular Spanish rice. The only reason they get a 2 is because waiter was awsome. First of all you deserve 0 stars ! I had ordered curbside on Sat (2/1) .Order was to be ready @ 5:02 p.m. arrived about 5:01 , waited 10 minutes and no one comes out with food..Finally went in and waited another 10 or so minutes before getting order.Ordered shrimp fajitas and no pico, salsa, cheese , or sour came with it as specified. Ordered awesome blossom pedals with extra sauce and of course there was no sauce at all ! Called and was put on hold waiting for the manager , and was on hold so long hung up ! HORRIBLE service could've and should've spent $33 any place other than here and next time plan on doing that !!!! Definitely will get no more of my business! read more

Service was good, food was OK. I was very disappointed in the $10 hamburger. Toppings were that of a Cook Out or other fast food place. One small thin piece of tomato, and a small piece of lettuce? Chili's is the Holy Grail of middle-class American food. Jonathan was a great server, somebody needs to give this man a raise.

The selections are slim here unless you really want a burger, taco, ribs or chicken fingers. The fries were really good. The meat selections were not cooked all the way. The cheese was not melted all the way. It music was way too loud -- too loud to even speak over. The service was lousy, lousy, lousy. The waiter could not remember to bring us water after asking him 3 times. He only had one other table besides ours. He only offered a refill on one of the soft drinks. Not long after we'd been served, he kept coming back over and over again to ask if we needed anything. Then halfway through eating he asked if we wanted dessert and then brought us the bill even though no one was anywhere near finished eating or asked for the bill. He left the check and then kept coming back to ask if everything was all right. The real kicker was that he started sweeping under our table while we were still eating. We hadn't been to Chili's in a while and were surprised to see the place was only half full on a Saturday night. But with lousy service and so so food, no wonder. read more

Table was not cleaned properly and appetizer plate was dirty. Sanitation grade was only 96. We arrived early for dinner but had to wait 40 minutes before the food arrived. Waitress was very pleasant although noticeably absent while waiting for food. I had a house salad and chili. The citrus balsamic vinaigrette was delcious on the salad! The chili was warm not hot, but was very tasty. My wife's chicken fajitas were very good but my sons Cajun chicken pasta lacked flavor and heat associated with good Cajun food. Probably will not visit this chili's location again for awhile. read more

This summarizes several of our last visits. We had a large party for my adult niece's birthday. Our waiter was a hoot. I don't remember what Tex Mex plate I ordered, but it was good. Another time I went I got the steak and margarita. I say woo-hoo on their margaritas, and the steak was memorable. Another time we went I was fine with the waitress, and she was fine for me when I returned on another day and had the same waitress, but a friend wasn't impressed. To each his own. This is a good Chili's in my book, and I am happy to bring guests here any time. Plus their specials are gentle to the wallet, which I appreciate. read more

Food is generally pretty good. The last few times I've come here, cleanliness has gone down. Menus are sticky, floors under the table are dirty, chairs/benches are dirty and sticky. Makes me not want to touch anything. Silverware is hit or miss. Servers are pretty friendly thought. read more

Waited for ever just to be asked what we wanted to drink with the waitress passing us over and over when it came time to order our appetizers and then we waited 30 minutes for appetizer then an additional 45 minutes for the entree to come I was already full to that point it was ridiculous never again read more

Chili's is the gold standard when it comes to casual dining. My burger was cooked to perfection and the onions were as fresh as as a new born baby. My fries were expertly crafted by the hands of a chef somewhere who I expect to be a better looking version of Matthew Mcconaughey. They didn't have too much salt or too little! We visited this restaurant about 2pm on Saturday afternoon. There was a "wait line" so we opted to sit at the bar. The bar was filthy - the bartender "swiped" it with a questionable-looking cloth. You could still see bits of dried food(?) here & there... yuck! Behind the bar were stacks of dirty dishes with food, napkins, etc. spilling over onto the area where drinks were being made. The bartender washed out a mug to use for a customer's drink order, and wiped her hands on the sides of her jeans. This entire situation did not create a very appetizing scenario. This was one of my worst food experiences. I ordered the 3 for $10 with a side salad and the just bacon burger and an app of fried pickles. The burger had no flavor and was a greasy mess. The fries tasted like the oil they were fried in and the pickles are frozen and no longer battered and fried in house. Absolutely horrible. Strike 2 Chili's! The food definitely does not look in person as advertised. Portions are much smaller. The burger tasted fine but it was smaller than the bun it was on and the bun was small. Cheese fries were also small in portion and not worth 8 bucks. I will say the bartender made good mixed drinks. Food was over priced for the portions...mixer drinks were good. read more

so moving from a larger city to hickory i was pleased to see that hickory finally got a chilis. i was thinking chain restaurant, consistent food...lets give it a whirl....boy was i WRONG! During the summer..... Went for lunch simple soup and salad, umm not so much. Atmosphere, its a chilis, lots of stuff every where, even FLIES! yes lots of flies buzzing around. Salad was just a regular house salad and actually pretty good, then my soup came, I had a chicken Tortilla. Chicken was extremely chewy and gamey, the bowl was so hot i knew it had been warmed up in a microwave. I sent it back, never got asked if i wanted anything else- not that i would have taken it. I asked to speak to a manager, she came and I complained, she comped lunch. I asked about the flies buzzing around, she simply stated, well that's just how it goes sometimes around here in the summer- wow i was appalled. 8 months later i decide to go in with some friends after work one night, give it another try, We sit in the bar. Server was slow, and seemed like we were bothering her because we wanted dinner at 7pm on a weeknight. I go with the burger here, the old timer, it was good, fries soggy and blah. asked for some ranch- never came even after 3-4 reminds, never got a refill on my tea. Again Spoke to the manager, (waited 10-15 minutes)this time a very apologetic manager, and efficient he waled us out and spoke to us for a good length of time. Gave all three of us a coupon for $5 off. i told him I will not be back and he can keep it. The servers at this place are useless and should probably find a different job. read more

We visited this establishment during a busy weekend. There were a lot of events going on in Hickory during this time, so it was rather busy. Anthony greeted us (nine in our party) and was so personable and treated us like royalty. The server was equally gracious and nice. We had 5 kids in our group and Anthony and our server gave them special attention. The food was good and of course, the customer service was excellent! We waited a bit for our food but that was understandable given the busy lunch hour during a Saturday. I was never a big fan of chain eateries, but I was surprised as to how the menu has changed! I had tortilla soup and a salad. My child had mac & cheese. The served us chips and salsa as we waited and Anthony gave the kids free dessert. Two times in a row going to eat here no one ever came to even seat us! The last time we got seated at the same time the party who came in behind us did. The waitress came to our table first and said that she would be right with us and then immediately went to the other table for drink and food orders knowing we were there first. When she came back I asked to please speak to a manager. The manager came and I explained the situation and she got our drink order. She came back shortly and announced that they were completely out of coca-cola. That was the final straw! We left and went to good ol Outback! read more

I got chili's 1975 chili softshell tacos for takeout. When I got home, the tacos had a small amount of chili (not good chili at that), a couple shreds of lettuce, and a couple tomato cubes on each. Nothing else. Next time you want tacos, go to Taco Bell. It's better read more

Me and my Husband have been coming to Chilis in Hickory N.C. for a long time. This is our favorite place to eat. I'm not sure what is going on there, but the last two times we have been it has been awful!!!! We had to sit and wait on a table , when I sit and counted 7 tables empty. When we did get our table, the waitress was very nice,and got our drinks to us quickly. As for the food, we ate 2 big bowls of chips and dip way before we every got our food. I could not even eat the Brisket it was so tough. What I ordered was $16.00. I got brisket on top of a very small piece of toast, and I remind you I could not even eat it, 1 small piece of chicken breast , 1 ear of corn ( it was good) and cold ff's.. Not worth $16.00 at all. My husband got Cajun Chicken Pasta with out green onions. What did he get Green onions on it anyway. With that being said , He went to mens bathroom, would not even use it because it was so nasty!!! so not sure what is going on, but they need to get it together. At this point I would not recommend this Chilis to anyone. And that's a shame, because I use to love this Chilis, But I will drive to another Chilis. read more

'Ordered take-out... When I arrived to pick up my order, I could hear the manager yelling at the help in a derogatory manner(a bad sign). The girl at the take out register then informed me that they were out of one of the sides that we ordered.. I had to call my wife to see what else she might want to replace it with. I guess it was too much trouble to call us before we arrived. Next, my fries were cold not after getting home with them but when I sampled them in my car 1 minute after they were handed to me. When I got home, I discovered that they had omitted several dips and sauces that we ordered and paid for. My wife's burger was dry and the food that wasn't ruined was just OK.. Horrible service/waiter I WILL NOT RETURN.I arrived at 6:30 pm on a Monday and it was for a friends birthday dinner.They all ended up not showing up so it was just 5 of us.So to start off the waiter only asked 1 person for their ID and he was in his early 30s but when someone else at our table asked for a drink he didn't check hers and she had just turned 21 that day .I found that disrespectful that he asked the guy but not the female.The waiter brought one of our friends some water and spilled some on me and did not even apologize or offer to hand napkins to clean it up. The waiter did not bring us our food out,we had to wait FOREVER to get refills and as we asked him for boxes/the bill we had to wait a whole 10 minutes (YES WE COUNTED) to get our stuff.We were all aggravated and ready to go we were there until 8:45.Very unsatisfied with the service the food was okay not the best either.Like I said I & my whole table stayed we will not return. read more
