Forked in Hickory exceeded our expectations as we explored high end cocktails for our wedding. Although the Hugo Spritz wasn't on their menu, the staff was more than happy to accommodate our request, and it turned out to be absolutely delightful a drink we ultimately chose for our wedding. Additionally, the espresso martini also offered phenomenal flavors which we decided on for our second wedding cocktail. We also tried their take on a French 75. The ambiance was both sophisticated and relaxed, making Forked an ideal spot for a special date night. While we only tried the Caesar salad, which was fresh and satisfying, the rest of the menu looked exceptional, and I'm eager to return to explore more of their offerings. Forked is a must-visit for anyone seeking refined dining and creative drinks.

Fourk continues to be our Hickory favorite. The new Fall 2025 menu has some new offerings and keeps some longtime favorites. The 4th Street scallops were an instant hit for me. Patrick provided the excellent service we have come to expect at Fourk. I can't write a review without mentioning the blackberry wine cake, it's a perennial favorite and even if we don't have room for dessert we always get it to go. If you haven't tried Fourk you definitely should.

First of all, let me start by saying how excited I was to try this restaurant. The food was the stand out. My husband doesn't typically like food with random ingredients, but he raved about everything he ate. So for me that's a win. For me, my mahi wasn't edible because it tasted like the grill, but the underneath shrimp and mussels were amazing! Our server was so sweet. I wish I could remember her name, she was truly lovely. The decor was very clean and simple, but it was quite loud. My husband and I had a hard time making conversation. My main issues was my first impression. We walked in at 7:45 for our 8:00 reservation. I was greeted by the hostess and she was looking for us a table when, I'm assuming the manager, tells her while we are waiting, that I was wrong and I did not have a reservation. Since you do voicemail confirmation, I kindly told her that I have a voicemail confirming and said the name of the girl who left it. And she just looked at me and said "well she wasn't feeling well..." I was so uncomfortable with the whole interaction, that everything after that felt very off. She wasn't friendly at all and mine and my husbands impression was that she did not want us there. It was disappointing and everything felt flat for me after that.

Wifey and I went to see a friend's band open for Rehab so we had to pre-game lol . Fourk opens at 5 our reservations were for 5 but the hostess suggested a drink at the bar while our table was made ready - gee a drink before dinner what a concept so we agreed - a beer for me and a Lichee cocktail for the missus . She loved it !! We had the Lobster fondue as an app - delicious and had to take some home. Wife had the Honey-Chipotle salmon - loved it!!!! I had a special which was the ultimate food with a twist - grilled venison picanha steak with a Thai pepper sauce served with wagyu and bison sausage infused in couscous pearls fried potato's and an egg because why not? I would give 10 stars that's how good everything was !!

Watery, flavorless, overcooked shrimp and pasta - zero crab. I did have a crab shell that was fun to bite on though.

My husband made a reservation for our 28th anniversary and we were excited to try Fourk, since it seems pretty busy. We walked in at 6:20 (6:30 reservation) and checked in with hostess. She had no smile, or warm greeting. Just cold and unwelcoming. We felt like she did not want to be there. This should've been our clue for what was to come. We ordered two cocktails, two appetizers - crispy Brussels sprouts & "baked Brie", the seafood melange, minus the scallops & a rib eye steak. Cocktails were okay. Brussel sprouts were a greasy mess with some weird carrot topping on top. The "baked Brie" I put that in quotes because it's the weirdest, concoction I've ever seen. Not too hard to ruin that, but they did. It came in a flavorless, dark brown crust that looked like asphalt. There was no ooze to the cheese. It was tepid warm with EXTRA chewy, flavorless bread. I can see using crostini - to spread the cheese..never had anything like that before. After the apps and drinks, zero personality hostess..my hub and I were thinking, "wow, what's next?" After over an hour, our entrees arrived. Our server muttered something 50 mins in, that the "kitchen was working hard on our meals" then he quickly left. Husbands steak arrived looking charred. No steak knife - we had to flag down the server who started talking about mashed potatoes ??? My dish, the "seafood melange" was the grossest, tasteless, overcooked pasta dish I have ever had in a restaurant. Pretty sure the recipe is this: boil pasta until it's mush. Boil shrimp until it's white rubber, ZERO seasoning, zero garlic, zero anything to make it resemble a restaurant seafood pasta dish. Add 1 tsp of tomato sauce, a gallon of water, a sprinkle of micro greens and there's the "seafood melange." I couldn't eat it. Server took it away & plopped down the menu I said "no thank you." Manager came by table - "comped" the dish. (I didn't eat it). We spent over $100 & left starving. Funny - in looking at the reviews - another person wrote pretty much the exact thing I said about the Brie app & disgusting pasta dish. I'm not sure how this place is busy. $100 - anniversary dinner, left hungry. Olive Garden is a Michelin star restaurant over Fourk and they obviously don't change how the food is cooked if over 2 years ago, same descriptions of the tasteless pasta. Very disappointing.

Awesome food, well prepared and even better served. We tried variety of cuisines with many vegetarian options, like Yuca fries, Mediterranean Trilogy, Mushroom Risotto, and everything was delicious. The dessert topped it all. We had stopped by on our way to Asheville based on a friend's recommendation, and we are so glad that we did. Highly recommend this gem in Hickory.

Located in Viewmont, Fourk is one of the nicer new American restaurants in Hickory. Fourk has several seafood offerings, nice cocktails, and clean decor. You can park on the street or in nearby lots for free. For heavier eaters, you may want to order an appetizer and/or dessert as the entree portions aren't overly plentiful. For me, the portion and quality was great. One dish we ordered (salmon) was a bit under-seasoned. Fourk has reasonable bottled wine prices and a private event room for larger groups. Fourk allows consumers to purchase gift cards easily.

Love everything about Fourk. Family owned. Great food. Brilliant service and a dog- friendly patio. As empty- nesters with a doodle and disposable income, finding places like this are a gem. Highly recommend! (See foodie pics)

Our server was great, not overly attentive or pushy (which I hate). The food was really good and not pricey at all. Will be back.

I then ordered my drink and proceeded to wait another 5 minutes before I got to order my food -- which was only done after watching her and the other waiter do circles around me standing at the bar & I finally asked the waiter if I could order some food. Leah left before I paid my tab but my friend's ticket had his name on it & Leah put the rolling eye emoji for my party name () I don't know what the issue is but this is not the first time and I am over it. I come to his bar for a good time, not to deal with high school pettiness from your staff.

After a nice weekend with additional family in town for a special event, I suggested this establishment as I have had many good experiences here in the last 6 months. When we decided on this location, we called ahead and were told no reservations we taken, first come first served. So with the twins and their cousin, we had 3 9-month old babies. Very aware of the complexity of this, we brought hook on chairs and arrived around 5:00. The hostess tried to seat us at a much too small table in the back room, and when we inquired about a larger one, we were told it was "reserved ". . We were seated in a long booth in the bar. The waitress seemed very rushed and upon first visit to table asked if we were ready to order. We were not told of any specials, etc. Good news was that we had decided to be ready and get our full orders in quickly. We ordered an appetizer and cocktails to begin, which came out quickly. My Son in law asked for a fairly plain burger, but wondered if fried onions which were listed on another burger could be added. Waitress said " prob not... but I'll ask". It did not come with the added onions. I asked for my favorite pizza.. she said there's no pizza tonight. While waiting on food, we asked for a couple of orange slices, which we had taken from cocktails to entertain/feed the babies. Waitress said they couldn't do that because the oranges are for the bartender garnishes. I asked for another cocktail with extra oranges and thankfully was given one extra sliver. When our meal was finished, our curt waitress asked if we needed anything else, so we just asked for the check. No suggestion of dessert, etc. We were never visited by the manager to see how all was going... because if so I would have asked if this was establishment policy or simply a rude waitress. We tipped 15%... and let that be it. Note that the babies were fantastic... very little fussing at all. We kept all except the floor cleaned up after them. On our way out... we seemed to be on the waitress's way... she never said anything like have a good night, etc... but shouted "Behind you!" twice on her way to deliver another table's food, and as we were getting out of her way to leave. A disappointing end to a restaurant experience I'd enjoyed before. Note to self... not particularly baby friendly.
