I can't believe this place had the restroom unavailable for patrons my wife had to walk half mall to go to the bathroom

Would've been 5 stars if they took they participated in the Chili's rewards program. I was very disappointed because I am a regular at the Chili's closer to my home and I just happened to be in the mall and stopped in for dinner. The server was great! She provided friendly and fast service. The food was delicious as always. Chili's should make their regulars more aware of the locations that do not participate in their awesome rewards program. I clearly wouldn't be dinning here again. read more

We came at 6:27pm on a Saturday and the hostess said they aren't putting anyone else on the list. She said they close at 7 and is not able to accommodate anyone else. Based off the reviews I'm glad we didn't go because it sounds like horrible service . lol read more

So. Where can I start. I was in the mall we stumbled upon chili's. Boy was I excited. Who doesn't love tacos right? So we went to the host stand and their was a young man and lady there. They never looked up to greet us. She just picked up 2 menus and walked us to a small booth. Never a smile or eye contact. After that she ran back to the host station where she started to have a very in-depth conversation with the young man that was standing with her before we walked in. We waited 5 min. No waiter. Then finally a young man was delivering food to another table acknowledged us and ask how long we were waiting we told him about 5 minutes. He apologized and assured us that he will be back to take our order. We waited another 5 min the. The manager came out and again apologized and took our order. The energy in the restaurant was weird. Very quiet and just not lively like I know Chili's to be. In my mind I was thinking we should have went to Applebee's. Anyway. We ordered and waited about 15 min for our food. all I ordered was tacos and my friend ordered chicken crispers. The food was a 5 on a scale from 1-10. In my opinion the entire staff needs training and coaching. I overheard that there was only 1 waiter working that's why the service was slow. Will never come here again. Came here after the movies with the kids and also to watch the football game which they already started playing on all their TVs. We were seated right away. The waiter came within minutes and took our order. He didn't use any electronics or pen and paper to write down our orders which were not that easy. To my surprise he has gotten everything right. Food arrived quickly as well as drinks and he has kept on checking up on us very often clearing the table from unneeded items and bringing us more drinks refills and other things like ketchup. My first time in this Chilis & it was horrible, they sat us down on a table that the bill wasn't closed yet so when i put my order in it showed the previous people bill as well, ok they fixed it no problem. The service at this Chili's is awful. The employees don't care if you are seated, attended to or how your food tastes. On my most recent visit, my friend and I waited at the bar for almost 15 minutes with no bartender! We asked the hostess when and where the bartender was, and the hostess kept saying she was coming. Almost 20 minutes later, the bartender arrived. Since we had been waiting awhile, we already had a general idea of what we wanted (even though we had not been given menus). The bartender walked away halfway through our order and told us to wait. My friend was so irritated that she just got up and left. I told the bartender we were leaving, and she rolled her eyes. This isn't a fancy upscale restaurant, but I did expect to be treated decently, especially when there were less than 25 customers in the whole restaurant ANDDD servers were standing around chatting. Didn't plan a stop at Jersey Gardens correctly and needed a place to eat a few minutes into our shopping. After a quick stroll through the food court decided that it would probably be a better bet to grab lunch at a "real" restaurant. The staff at this Chili's is very, very friendly and attentive. However, the food is bland, arrived at table cold and dry. To make matters worse, the restaurant janitor decided halfway through our lunch to.... MOP.. yup, you got that right, moping the floors.. Clorox bleach and all. The smell was intoxicating, my daughter had her newborn, we asked for the check and left. Wow, all the bad reviews. I'm usually very picky, but I found the food here to be quite good. We did not have the friendliest server, who didn't smile when serving us, but she did move fast. I got a lemonade to drink, and it was nice and sweet, like how a fresh lemonade should. I got the 1975 Soft Tacos, which was made with chili, lettuce, tomatoes, and served with sour cream and salsa. The shell was really nice and soft, and the chili tasted nice and spicy. I didn't taste much lettuce, but that was fine, because I'm not a huge lettuce fan. Could have seen a bit more cheese, but again did not bother me. Some of the taco did topple over as I was picking it up, but I've experienced that before. The chips were good, but the salsa had the crunchiness of tomatoes, instead of it just being a sauce. Overall, though this was a great Chili's. read more

I think the only things saving this place is the fact that it's located inside the mall and people get hungry when they shop. Our server Angelica was not the friendliest. We were seated almost immediately and it took her about 15 minutes before she even approached the table to greet us (mind you the place was dead). The greeting we received was: "Are you guys getting anything? Are you guys gonna just get appetizers or are you each getting a meal? What's the plan?" All served with a side of attitude. I'm telling you the only thing good about the experience was the house margaritas. The food was fine. We had to ask for refills after sitting thirsty for 15 minutes. When I asked for a new salted rim she acted like I was asking for the world. Two waitresses who'd just got off from Applebee's came in and sat at the bar and it was amazing to watch how well they were treated in comparison to us (same server). I work in the service industry and this was just unacceptable. When it came time to pay, she told us she couldn't split the check three ways so we should just Venmo each other and slapped the check on the counter of the bar instead of walking around the bar and giving it to us at the table. Horrible service, didn't even make it past ordering drinks. Girlfriend and I came here and it sounded like a concert hall going on. Hostess asked if we wanted to sit at the bar or table, I asked for a booth and she rolled her eyes at us as if I asked her to do something super inconvenient. Ok strike one, she then comes back and seats us in a booth right behind the super loud speaker lmao. Strike two. Then my girlfriend asked if we could be seated further from the speaker. She rolls her eyes again and starts to speak to another waitress in Spanish about us in a negative tone. Mind you my girlfriend is Caucasian but I myself am Hispanic so I understood the shit talk this girl was saying. Strike three. We sat down already dissatisfied and decided to leave once our waitress came. I can see form the reviews and how empty it was justifying it's one star rating. We ended up going to Applebee's on the first level which as I am writing this now, is much more pleasant and packed. I can see where the shoppers here prefer to go for food. There are very few sit down eateries in Jersey Garden other than the food court. If you want full sit down meal, this is one of those available. It is large to accommodate bigger parties and has a bar to boot. Service is very attentive as well as anticipating refilling your drinks. Food is realitvely good especially the fajitas and burgers. Typical Chillis you can come to expect but get here early for no wait seating since the mall packs a huge crowd for lunch and dinner. read more

Chillis is my last choice of food just like apple bees. I've visited different Chillis and the food taste great but there's something they must use that hurts my stomach. The only item that doesn't make me run to the bathroom are there soups. I've eaten their fajitas, grilled chicken and wings and within minutes of eating I gotta go! I love that they have a pad where you can order and pay, it also has games that entertains my son.. but I don't know if I want to risk another stomachache. The restaurant is always messy. There are always dirty tables that haven't been cleaned. I don't know, but I think it might be a lack of management in my opinion. Service is always crappy. I always get a waiter/waitress who really doesn't look like they're interested in being there If you're so unhappy, don't work there. Keep in mind this is not a regular Chili's, it's a Chili's Too. They have a different menu than the regular Chili's and the food is not of the same quality as a Chili's. The last time I was here just really pissed me off. The hostess tells us that we have to wait for the table to be cleaned. It took 10 minutes for a table to be cleaned! Anyway, once thee table is finally cleaned and my boyfriend and I are finally seated, we waited another 10 minutes someone to come over to take our order but no one ever did! We look over to the bar and there's about 4 or 5 waitresses hanging out and talking. Meanwhile there are about 4 tables that had to be waited on! To be honest, I do not want to give this restaurant any stars. Although I am not a fan of any chain restaurants, if I had to choose one on the fly it would be Chili's (probably because it was always conveniently located near my house). My friends know I frequent this chain, and therefore when celebratory occasions occur, they get me gift certificates. Shopping at the Jersey Gardens Mall with my girlfriend, I decided why not treat her for lunch at that Chili's location. This specific location and experience has forever changed my outlook and opinion on the Chili's establishments. First off, let me just say, had I visited the rest room PRIOR to BARELY eating my BLAND lunch, I would have NEVER ordered anything at this restaurant. The bathroom reminded me of porter potties that have been sitting at a carnival for months. It stunk, was filthy, and soap was limited. They cannot keep their bathroom clean, so what would make me think their kitchen is any cleaner? Secondly, the food lacked flavor, and was cold when served. The salad I ordered was wilted and gross. Since I was myself a server, I am not the type to send back my food nor blame the server for the quality of my food. Instead, I pay, leave, and inform the public about how horrible their experience will be if they ever choose to visit this establishment. Lastly, my friend and I were one of 3 tables in that place during lunch (which probably should have been a sign from the very beginning). I accidentally left a folder with personal papers on the table upon leaving the restaurant. But FIRST we used the restroom. Therefore, staff had already began cleaning our table while we were STILL in the restaurant. Did they approach me to tell me that I left something? Absolutely not. I realized when I got to my car, I forgot it, called immediately, and they informed me they found NOTHING. Those were personal items I will never be able to reproduce so you can imagine how disappointed I am in myself (for forgetting) and this establishment (for their dishonesty). I am a "shrug, it's a chain" diner when it comes to TGI, Applebee, etc. But a normal Chili's is surprisingly flavorful with huuuge portions THIS location is actually a Chili's To Go. Bascially, this is a half-arse, Poor Man's version of a real Chili's with no price difference to speak out! The menu is abbreviated and includes some selections from a normal Chili's, but there is a big quality difference between Chili's and Chili's To Go. At a normal Chili's, the Chicken Margarita is a dish comprised of 2 chicken breasts that are juicy, grilled, and flavorful. The black beans are like those served in a stand alone Mexican restaurant and the rice with tortilla strips and pico de gallo is complementary. At To Go, it was a meagre version with dry chicken, blah rice, and very runny and unenhanced canned beans. It should cost $5. You're better off just getting something at the Food Court, honestly. Went to jersey gardens to do a little shopping and of course after shopping you want to eat. I was absolutely shocked that chili's of all places, didn't serve us at all. No one greeted us, we were seated by the hostess and that was the only interaction we had with any chili's employee at the jersey gardens mall location. We sat and waited for 15 minutes I had even set a timer, because we were completely floored by the lack of service. I skipped the burger and went with the California club sandwich. It was really good! I don't even know why I ever get burgers. They're just flavorless, ground up meat. It's sort of like the beer of foods. It doesn't taste good but you love it anyway. The restaurant itself could be cleaner. I understand it's pretty busy and the waitresses were doing their best to get things done quickly. Be careful ordering alcohol here, the prices aren't on the menu and for a good reason... You'd never order it if they were. It's a mall so my expectations weren't high and that's a good thing. But I am still pleasantly surprised with how good my sandwich was. Skip the burger! read more

Wish I could give negative stars....this place sucks big time. These people have no ethics and no respect for the customer and that includes the Manager who has zero customer service skills. We ordered from the kids menu and it came out looking like this mutilates sandwich. I'd prepare a better looking one for my dog! The fries clearly were re-fried and old. We also ordered the combo entree 2 for $20, well the portions were lesser than an appetizer. We called the manager to send it back and she had no Empathy instead she took it and said you will need to wait a while for a replacement.
