I'm in Cedar City passing through and saw that they had a Chilis. I opted to go here because they have what I believe is the best value meal out there. 3 for $10.99. Appetizer, drink, and a burger. The chips and salsa were my app and it was huge. I opted for the Smashburger with fries and both were spot on. I love their fry seasoning. All of this seems to be consistent no matter the Chilis you go to. This particular one was clean and the service was excellent. I gave in to Chilis today as the others in our group blame me for not going there because I caused a scene last time due to a dumb fry cook mentality that could not cook a great rib eye medium rare instead of well done in three trys. My wife told me to not make a scene this time. I have had a rib rack many times and always satisfied so I ordered a half rack with mac and cheese and aspargus for sides. The rack was so dryed out from the warmer, probably due to yesterday's product that I had trouble cutting the ribs with the Steak knife. The meat was dry and no texture except stringy. The Asparagus was so over cooked the blossoms could not be cut with a steak knife. The mac & cheese was watery a bit but etible. On the way out the I asked if the guy shooting the breeze with the female employee if he was the manager. He said yes. Walked into the bar for a quick bite on the way home from Brianhead. After 15 minutes of waiting the female bartender came back and said my Real ID wouldn't scan. I then gave her my Global Entry card that you can use to go through TSA AND get back in the country from vacation elsewhere without going through regular screening. Then my USA Passport card. We came in on a Friday night and was told it would be a Twenty to thirty minute wait. We were seated in less than 10 minutes! That was awesome. James was our waiter. Three years in a row with the same bartender, Tanya. You'd think we hate her by now, but no, she's adorable (that's what she told us)! Loads of fun! She remembered last years conversation and restarted it (talking mutton with my friend Eric)! CRAZY. [And yes, she's hearing me type]. The food is always decent. Great beer. The bell peppers I got on my plate seemed to be end pieces. . Big large chunks not thin slices. The onions were cooked fine. The rice tasted like old rice-a-roni and was hard and uncooked. My beans were cold. The cheese was the processed kind with with white speckles on it. It seemed I got the bottom of the processed cheese bag. The worst was the margarita. Such great and quick service. Didn't realize there were 2 types of quest dips for chips and our server was kind enough to swap out for the one we wanted since we couldn't eat meat on Lenten Friday. Chips and salsa are always good here. Salsa isnt too spicy and is a good kind of chunky. Ordered mini molten for dessert and it was so moist! My cousin ordered a diet coke and had to have it taken back because it tasted like regular. Told the runner and they brought out another... told them it still tasted like regular and asked them if they could check the syrups and they redirected us to the server. In my opinion, there was a lack of initiative on the runners part to fix the issue. We let our server know as directed and he returned to let us know that the syrups were indeed switched.
