Tonight was a different kind of chilis night. Its the new year and i suppose theres new rules. First thing i noticed was the waiter had no name and it allowed me to personalize my waiter. I have to say, this is a huge upgrade. I named him Jake. Jake was extremely well trained. Its also important to know that i graduated from Berkley and i would suspect jake also graduated from my same class with his voice of an angel. I was awestruck when he sang happy birthday to my cousin (turned 19). He sang as if there were 6 professionally trained choir men in the room; his voice was unlike any other i have had the pleasure of hearing. I wish i could capture his voice in a jar and keep it with me to show all my loved ones when times are hard. Its enough to uplift any spirit. Although i dont know his name, i implore you to promote jake to chilis ceo immediately. I know that with his impeccable service and otherworldly singing skills he would bring the company to new heights. I cant wait to go to chilis again and i hope jake will be there waiting for me. We go to this Chili's around twice a month for years. Sometimes our food is barely warm, but our servers are always happy to correct any order mistakes. Their monthly margaritas are always delicious. The servers are nearly always attentive. Yesterday was Father's Day and our sons wanted to take their Dad to Chili's. We sit down and the server starts taking our drink order. Both sons were going to order beer until the server asked me for my ID. I am 64 years old with an aging face and a full head of gray hair. My husband seated next to me looks just like Santa Claus. When we go out to eat I never bring my purse. Why? BECAUSE I HAVE NOT been Carded in DECADES. Everyone at the table thought the waiter was kidding, until he wasn't. Neither son ordered beer and I didn't get my margarita. Also, I have never been carded at this Chili's EVER. My husband's food was lukewarm. My son's food was so steaming hot he had to set it aside to cool off because he burnt his tongue. The waiter? He did the same to people at other tables around us who looked just like us: Definitely senior citizens. The funny thing is both men and women decided to get water. One couple left without ordering food. The manager may want to teach the waitstaff how to THINK. The waiter needs to seek a new line of employment. read more

I have always had a good experience with Chili's and this one did not disappoint. We arrived around 11:30am, a bit after they opened. It was good timining because as our meals arrived you can see a line beginning at the front door. Service was good and server was friendly. Drink came within a reasonable time and the food was not too far behind them. My burger was good, but the brisket was a bit on the dry side so the bbq sauce on the bottom bun was a needed relief. The burger was cooked well and the fries were perfectly seasoned. My wife enjoyed her mushroom Swiss burger, but she ordered it without tomatoes and it came with tomatoes. They offered to remake it, but my wife chose to just remove them and move on. The menu does not say the burgers are made with a brioche bun, so my wife ate the burger without the bread as brioche is too sweet to her. My stepdaughter enjoyed her triple dipper appetizer especially the mozzarella squares and the chicken dippers. Other than the small things, the experience was really good and I would return. The small things are not egregious enough that their star rating should be impacted beyond losing a single star. Service was a little slow but it was also Valentines so understandable. Food is pricey, was $70 for two people, we got 3 mozzarella sticks, ($10), cajun pasta and the Ancho Salmon. Ancho Salmon was delicious, the lime wedge really helped sell the flavor of it as a whole but the broccoli was lacking in flavor. Popped in on a whim while staying in the area. Crazy impressed with Madison, the bartender. She was talkative and also attentive to her tables and staff. This girl hustled! Gabe the host who seated us was wonderful! He has a great personality for the service industry. I've worked in this industry for years and I was very impressed with his diligence. Felix our server was polite and seemed competent. I ordered soup and salad, very basic. My husband and son had entrees. It wasn't extremely busy but it was taking a long time for our food to arrive. Finally all of our food arrived and I was given a salad and was told it would be another 10 minutes for the soup because they were cooking it and did I want a different soup. Information that would have been nice much earlier. My husband's fries were cold so they'd obviously been sitting a while. I said no thank you just take my meal off the ticket by then I was irritated. The manager never came out to see if they could make it right or apologize. Poor management, poor training and total lack of caring about customer service. We've been to Chili's all over the country and we were all disappointed in our service! read more

WOW...Not a big fan of casual chain dinning but this chili's in MAINE has the best staff and that will bring me back every time. First off, the server was awesome. However, that's about all I can say good about my first visit. After waiting over a half hour we were informed that my meal was accidentally sent to the wrong table and they'd have to remake mine. When it finally arrived, everything but the steak was cold. They gave me two slices of cheesecake for my trouble and I still paid $50 for the meal. I will never return. read more

I don't normally write reviews like this, but something needs to be said about the management at Chili's. Thursday, February 1, I was recently dining at Chili's in Bangor. I had a seat at the bar and was watching a hockey game. My bartenders name was Rylan and asked a short young brown hair kid to cut lemons for him. The kid agreed and grabbed a knife to start cutting lemons. But before he could even get the first chop in a large female, wearing a chilis polo comes running out of the kitchen screaming at the poor kid cutting the lemons. Left the restaurant sclient. Embarrassing. I have never seen a kids face seem more ashamed. It was extremely unprofessional, and honestly someone in that position should not act in that manner. Is Chilli's gourmet food, no, did this visit exceed the "brand expectation" yes. My 5 star review is based on the brand expectation, not necessary being a "5-star" restaurant. There is certainly better Service: We had a young server who worked hard and tried to meet our needs. He was friendly and when he wasn't sure of something, went and asked. He wasn't polished, but the effort was there. This Chili's employed a food runner, and this worked really well. Food/Bar made it was exceptional quickly to the table and the food was "hot". The food runner was helpful and polite. The service was actually quite good for a Chill's. Food: It was what you expected. Nothing was poorly done, everything executed and tasted as it should for a Chilli's. Food was properly cooked, tasted pretty good and it came to the table quickly and was "hot". Checkout was easy with the automated payment system. I appreciated the it supports Apple Pay which makes it even easier to pay. read more

The food was ok, a little undercooked like the fries. It seemed really understaffed because we waited a long time before we could order. Our Waiter was a nice guy, but noticed a short, young dark haired girl who seemed really abrasive and short tempered with a customer who was sitting alone at the end of the bar. He wore a veterans hat and something was said and she shouted at him, which drew everyon's attention. The customer just lowered his head and she stormed out with her coat and purse. I overheard another bar customer say that she does that a lot. My question is, why is she still employed there if someone more even tempered could take her spot? read more

Chili's is known for their fajitas. I've enjoyed them for years at various chilis locations. Yesterday I visited the chilis in Bangor. I ordered chicken fajitas with corn tortillas Corn tortillas have to be warmed on a skillet. Mine came out absolutely raw. They were disgusting. The chicken, onions, peppers were not seasoned correctly. It was extremely bland. I give this location 2 stars because the service was excellent. But the food is by far the worst I've had at a chilis. read more

Bangor is becoming more and more diverse with their food options these days, there are a lot of fantastic locations to choose from, and despite being a chain restaurant, this Chili's is one of those fantastic locations. The food is consistently delicious and the variety of options keep each experience fresh. However, what makes this particular location shine is the cleanliness of the location and the courtesy of the staff. They're almost always polite and on point with their service, and honestly, the only thing keeping me from giving it five stars is a few bad experiences I've had here. But overall I highly recommend this place for the great food and atmosphere. 4/5 Would definitely come back again. read more

A restaurant with a heavy focus on Tex-Mex for the menu but have plenty of options for people that aren't interested in that. From chicken fingers (known as crispers on the menu), pasta, to burgers. Everyone can find something they like here at a reasonable price and good service. Even when this place is busy service is still reasonable. It also always seems that they are trying to change the menu up at least slightly seasonally to keep giving new options to customers. I have tried everything from their chicken burrito, chicken crispers (multiple sauce variations), to burgers, to their Cajun chicken pasta and have been happy every time with taste and quality. The most recent visit I had the new chicken crispers and waffles that were filling and spicy from the chicken with sweetness from the waffles, a match well made. Along with the el presidente margarita for a steal at 5 dollars that comes to your table in a shaker that can get you around 2-3 pours into the glass. Can't complain about the deal of 2 for $22 where you get an appetizer to split with two entrees from the list of about 10. Highly recommend this restaurant, bring the whole family! read more

Horrible! Chilis always used to be one of my favorite places but not recently. Tonight we decide to try Doordash for the first time. The Door-Dash service was wonderful, quick and flawless but I can't say the same for the food that was delivered. First off lets start with my salad. Wilted, slimy and brown lettuce that I wouldn't feed to an animal. I am missing the cucumbers so it's just lettuce, onion and croutons. Now the Texas cheese fries- they are so UNDERCOOKED that the cheese isnt even melted, fries feel raw when eating and are currently in the oven to try to salvage part of our meal. Then last is the beef, ranch, bacon quesadilla...no pico. Is soggy and wet (bad container) taste like cheap steam-um steak was used. This is all so disappointing. I just spent almost $35 on a pile of crap. I should've just had a bowl of cereal. Totally ruined our night!! read more

I often travel for business and end up eating dinner solo at restaurants. Chili's is usually a safe bet for me as I am familiar with the menu and try to eat more on the healthy side. They do have a few healthy options. I've been here to the location in Bangor a couple times in the last year and had never had an experience like my most recent one. Upon arriving, when the hostess realized I was alone, she asked me if I could sit in the lounge instead. She told me it was 'seat yourself' and started to walk away. I politely requested a booth in the regular restaurant. and explained I wasn't planning on ordering any alcohol. When you are by yourself and aren't planning on having a drink, it doesn't make sense to sit in the bar area. She seemed bothered and muttered something about checking to see if a table was open. Half of the restaurant was empty. When I was given a booth to sit at, a waitress came over. At first she was fine but as time went on she was increasingly more bubbly and so over the top that I began to wonder what her deal was. She asked me if I wanted chips and salsa and I said, sure, why not. I didn't realize these were no longer complimentary and you are charged $3.29 for them. She didn't explain this, either. It's not that I can't afford an extra three bucks, I just felt she should have mentioned it. Honest to god, I have never had more nasty, stale chips at a Chili's or anywhere else in my life. I swear they took the whole container of salt and dumped it all over them. I should have said something, and I would have if I realized I was paying for them, but I didn't. I kept fishing around looking for a normal one and after a few minutes of this I gave up on them. My dinner came out so fast I was now wondering what on earth I did to these people to have them make me want to leave so quickly. Normally quick is good. That night, everything was dry. Probably from being zapped so quickly. I was starving so I ate it. The manager came out and asked all of the patrons individually if things were ok, but he didn't really seem like he wanted to engage you in conversation. By this point I was so uncomfortable I just wanted to get out of there. I will continue to go to other Chili's locations, as I've had great service and decent food at many others in my travels. My husband and I tried to eat here last night, however there were a few things that need to brought to the Chili's management team's attention. When we entered and were seated, the hostess asked us if we would like a drink menu....when we said no, she handed us two Word documents that were intended to take the place of a menu. There were no prices included on either document, nor were there menu item descriptions. That made it very difficult to figure out how or what to order. We sat at a booth in the bar, and there were several people standing by the entrance to the kitchen....however, we did not speak to any of them because no one came to our table. NO ONE. The menu was standard Chilli's food. What made this visit great was the service. My wife has a gluten allergy. When we told the waitress this she went WAY out of her way to find dishes my wife could eat and even went back to talk to the cook. That was on top of the already great service she was providing. They said the comped the meal but by the amount of the bill and no alcohol was consumed just water I would say very little was taken off. It will be a long time before I return. We came in with a party of 8 during lunchtime in the middle of the week (Tuesday I think) and the place was pretty dead but it still took us about an hour and 45 minutes to get out of there. More people might come here during their lunch breaks if they could get in and get out in a timely manner. Maybe they were just short staffed that day. I'm not sure. Well, I'm really sad to report this, but I think the public should be aware. My husband & I frequent this location about 4 times a month. Being that I'm such a creature of habit, I order the steak and shrimp fajitas every time. Today we went in, and I ordered the same thing. As I was eating I noticed something that looked off. It looked like a clear transparent tube sticking out of the steak. I looked at it and told my husband, and we let it slide. My mistake! I found it in the meat itself 3 more times. We called over the manager and she said, "It was the distributors fault and that it looked like there were "VEINS" in the meat! Oh my, sad to say, but we will not be going in there again. read more
