    Ancho Salmon
    Lynne P.

Ordered the ancho salmon to go. It was raw. I sent the photo along with the complaint to Chili's. I received a )10 gift card . Woo hoo. That won't cover the cost of what I paid for the salmon which was fed to the dog. Applebees is just down the road and they have salmon that is good and is even cooked

Our server was helpful and friendly. We started with the standard chips and salsa. I liked it fine, but the salsa was too spicy for my wife. The server offered some enchilada brown sauce for her instead. It was a nice thought, but my wife disliked the taste and, I must agree, when I sampled it I felt it tasted unsuitable, at least for that purpose. It was Margarita Monday and I would have liked to indulge, but I was driving so I demurred. We both ordered taco salads for our meal. Taco salad is also a Monday special, priced a dollar less than the regular dinner version. Just out of curiosity, after my wife ordered the lunch special with guacamole, I ordered the regular dinner version. Our salads looked about the same, except hers had more ground beef for whatever reason. So my experiment was inconclusive. The taco salad was pretty good, and we brought some home with us for later, so it was a good value these days at around $10 each. Ordinarily I would finish by saying we'll be going back again, but the spicy salsa is probably a deal breaker for my wife, unless we bring our own mild salsa!

It did fill up by the time I left (around 12:30). Was seated promptly in a booth, menu with silverware was provided. Menu is huge, took me a while to find the page with lunch specials. (Might have been nice to point it out.) I ordered the chicken burrito lunch special. Chips and salsa came quickly as did a soda. When lunch came, it was just placed and the waiter came and asked "how it was." My response was I haven't tried it yet. The enchilada was mostly rice, with some chicken, and the cheese sauce on the top was COLD. Pretty much the worst enchilada I remember. I ate 1/2 and waited for the waiter to come so I could get a check. English was a struggle for my waiter. I asked for $1 back from my $20 to cover lunch and tip. Said it a couple times, and he eventually just brought me full change to let me leave a tip. Normally, I would have just rounded up and left the $20, but it was just so bad I couldn't. There were many in the restaurant when I left so I'm going to hope I just picked the wrong item. Maybe I'll try again on a Tuesday night.

My wife and I had great service from server Justice on a Thursday night. I ordered the Flank Steak fajitas and was greeted by an absolutely delicious and more-than-generous portion of steak, fajita veggies, and various salad accoutrement (lettuce, fresh tomato, guac, sour cream, etc). For the price and in this particular tourist hot spot, I feel like it was not only an incredible value, but a noteworthy experience for both locals and tourists alike! Thanks Miguel's, we'll stop by again on our next trip to Bar Harbor!

We were met at the front door with what seemed to be a manager who seated us The sever named Justice was quite nice and attentive The salsa, queso and chips were great. The bad: every hot sauce bottle at the table was empty, I worked in this industry before and at the end of a shift we used to refill all consumables when closing a shift. To see dry bottles with dry crusty residue was very disappointing. The food was over salted and not from a food snob standpoint it literally had granular salt clumps in the burrito and in the sides we ordered. There was no handwash in the bathroom which I completely understand that as bussiness owners we cant always keep up with when it gets busy. But what I cant understand is why the bartender is allowed to curse like a sailor dropping F-bombs every other word that carries across the reasturaunt. As someome who runs a bussiness this was horrifying. Myself and my wife were not offended as I spent 20+ years in the military and recently retired and I have heard it all but if I had been there with my kids it would have been another story. Overall the place has good potential but needs a good clean up. Owner can feel free to message me for some advice as I run a very successful business in the state and woukd be more than happy to help.

Seriously, two of my favorite things to see on a coffee house menu. That said the execution was a bit off for me. The Impossible breakfast sandwich was served on an insubstantial bun (the type that is more air than anything) and was overall pretty basic. Their signature sauce mentioned in several dishes, seems to be thousand island or maybe tartar sauce? Either way, it wasn't my favorite. The peanut butter mocha was also a bit of a miss for me. I wasn't a fan of either their chocolate or their espresso (or the peanut butter flavor they used, for that matter). The shop itself is quirky and comfortable. We were able to get a spot by the windows, which was nice and the service was lovely. It would definitely be a good and comfortable spot for working and it could be that had I ordered differently, it may have been more my cup of tea (or coffee, as they case may be). But for what I ordered, it was a bit of a swing and a miss.

I chose a egg and cheese on a croissant bun and a caramel turtle latte. I came here because it had been highly recommended, but I have to say, I expected more, but depends on what you like, right?? Plenty of seating, centrally located in the city, easy parking, and plenty of coffee concoctions to try out. My coffee was missing the whipped cream, but oh well. The froth for the latte was odd, it deflated super quickly, not sure what happened there. And the sweetness was sweet, but it was missing that caramel turtle flavor I thought I was going to get. For me, this was meh. I expected something more decadent. My egg sandwich was good. Basic. Not a real croissant either. It was a croissant bun of some sort. It seemed, well, basic, or economical. But it was filling and the egg was good. I also have to say that when I departed, I smelled like a convenience store that sells those hotdogs on rollers... I smelled all day, I had to wash my hair to get the smell out. I also have to mention the heavy music that was playing. It was obscene and it was loud. So loud it made it challenging to order and I did eat my meal quickly and leave. It was a Tuesday morning around 9 am. But hey I am getting older so this may not have been a good choice for me.

I'm from New Orleans, where food doesn't whisper--it speaks up. After spending a full month traveling the Maine coast from Bar Harbor to Yarmouth, I found plenty of fresh seafood and scenic charm, but very few dishes that truly woke up my palate. Then I walked into Hey Sailor. This place doesn't hold back. The flavors are layered, intentional, and memorable--each bite feels thoughtfully built rather than simply assembled. There's a balance here between creativity and comfort, with dishes that feel both elevated and satisfying. It's the kind of food that makes you pause mid-conversation because your attention suddenly shifts to what's happening on the plate. In a region where subtlety often takes the lead, Hey Sailor confidently turns up the volume without losing finesse. It's not just good for Maine--it's good, period. If you're someone who craves food with depth, personality, and a little punch, this is a stop worth making. For me, it stood out as one of only two places on this entire coastal stretch that truly delivered that kind of experience.

The restaurant is a bit dark, in fact, we had a hard time reading the receipt in the waiting area to complete it. Plenting of seating, a lot of booths. Very clean. LOL The staff members were definitely hustling - moving quickly to serve and clear tables and address people getting take out (us). The food tastes fresh and not overly seasoned. I was surprised at how mild, almost dull some of the meats were, with the exception of the delicious chorizo chimichanga. The pulled pork and the chicken, definitely needed the sauces and salsas that come with it. Warning, if you are not fan of cilantro, you may want to ask before ordering, as some of the items have it automatically added and cooked with it.
