My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our stop here for dinner. Service was fantastic and quick. Food was delicious! Hard to find economical meals in this area, and this was perfect. Highly recommend! read more

Normally very good but whenever I order it delivered my order is wrong. And this time they were completely off.

Tacos! How can you go wrong? Come to Casa Jalisco and lend your taste buds to Mexi-cuisine. I had the Carne Asada tacos, Mexican style with only Onions, Cilantro and some picante sauce. To drink they had a special in all tall domestic draft beers (Wednesday) for $7.50. Angela is my server and gave me everything quick and fast/accurate! I love a nice side of beans/rice and I mix them together (better to stay on the fork). When in Ellsworth Maine come to 205 High St and enjoy! read more

Food needs improvement , enchilada was horrible , shredded beef taco was also horrible. Beans and rice taste like they came out of a bag . I Left hungry . Never coming back . Taco Bell would of have tasted better . The music ! rap in Spanish makes it worse . Why not play pleasant Mexican music like traditional ? Well until never worse $40 I spent ! read more

Best fajitas I've had in Maine. Their salsa is delicious as well. I went on a Monday evening and the special of the day was a margarita. It was huge and refreshing! read more

We stopped at Casa Jalisco on the ways from Arcadia Ntional park to Boston, for lunch and had a pleasant experience overall. I ordered the Taco Salad (lunch size), which was just the right portion--fresh, flavorful, and satisfying without being too heavy. We also tried the Lunch Fajitas, and they were delicious--nicely seasoned and served sizzling hot. For the kids, we got the Cheese Quesadilla with fries. While the quesadilla itself was great, they served it with quesadilla and an enormous pile of fries--honestly, way more than necessary for a child's plate. It felt a bit excessive and could easily be scaled down. Service was friendly, and the food came out quickly. A solid spot for a casual Mexican meal with good lunch specials! They also have a huge selection of drinks and full service bar. read more

For what it is (the only Mex restaurant in Ellsworth) it's fine. Put some alcohol in the margaritas!! Prices are a little steep for Mexican fare. Mole is "out of a can". But the people are generally friendly and it's better than what "used to be" in that space... Burger King.... Can't say that of the old Denny's down the road.... So... there!! read more

Food: *** We got a burrito with fajita veggies and black beans, since the Spanish rice isn't vegan (a big letdown--they couldn't substitute anything else either). The burrito itself was healthy and enjoyable, especially with the red and green sauces on the side. We also shared a half pitcher of the strawberry frozen margarita. It was refreshing but not very strong--still a better value than ordering individual glasses. Service: ** Our server was friendly, understood our dietary restrictions, and made sure no animal products were added--great! But... he failed to mention that adding veggies would cost us nearly $12 extra. Since we couldn't have meat or rice, it would've literally just been beans otherwise. It felt like we were being upcharged simply for needing a vegan meal. They really should have a proper vegetarian or vegan option on the menu instead of charging à la carte and surprising you with the total. Atmosphere: *** A casual, family-friendly spot with plenty of seating and booths. Clean and inviting for a relaxed meal. Price: $$$$ We paid over $50 for just one burrito, a side of guac, and a drink--which is outrageous. The burrito alone was $27, while the most expensive meat version on the menu was $17. It honestly felt like we were penalized for being vegan. No rice option, no set veggie version, and hidden charges made it feel like they took advantage of us. read more

Casa Jalisco - The Vegan Burrito - Mexican Near Me - Ellsworth, Maine

So pleasantly surprised by this place. The food was delicious and clean. My family of four really enjoyed our meals.

Small city in downeast Maine on Cinco de Mayo. Not sure if there was a resident of Ellsworth who wasn't at Casa Jalisco. Anyway, I ordered the Nachos Fajitas and the steak burrito. Had to wait a bit, but it was worth the wait. The flavors were on point and deep! Absolutely delicious. I didn't get to interact with any of the staff (takeout order), but on what I imagine is their busiest day of the year, they certainly were efficient. Drinks, chips & guac were almost flying to each table. Helped that it was a nice night and people were also sitting outdoors. Restaurant was clean and comfortably noisy that evening. I remember not wanting a Mexican restaurant to be quiet when enjoying an ice cold Modelo and some festive food. Those places are always a good time. I recommend Casa Jalisco! read more

We stopped for a late lunch while on vacation. At 2:30pm, the dining room was full. The decor was authentic and tasteful. We ordered drinks and we were given chips and salsa. The chips were warm and the salsa was in a little carafe. I have a gluten allergy so I asked if the chips were GF. Sadly, no. The meals came quickly and all the food was very good and plentiful. Definitely a good value for the prices. I had enchiladas and explained my gluten allergy. I didn't get sick after , so they did a very good job. My son said this was his favorite Mexican restaurant, which is saying a lot, because we go to quite a few. Too bad we live in CT!! We gave 4 stars because the chips were not GF and there was no hot sauce on the table. read more

Great food Nice staff Gluten free options Menu items are authentic Recommend the Jeremy tacos

After a morning in Acadia National Park we were hungry and looking for Mexican food. Casa Jalisco did not disappoint. We were seated immediately and served chips and homemade salsa. We ordered a variety of drinks, including the margarita flight, beer and a margarita. We all were happy with our choices . The flight included a mango, peach, strawberry and raspberry margarita. The peach and mango were the best. Each included a fresh blueberry. Our group had shrimp tacos, enchiladas,, fajitas and pollo mayo . Portions were generous and served with rice, lettuce and sour cream. All were prepared perfectly. Service was attentive and fast. A good spot in Ellsworth. read more

Solid Mexican American restaurant. Stopped here on our way to Acadia. The restaurant was absolutely packed and we waited about 30 minutes for a table. Service was great and the food came out quickly. read more

Casa Jalisco - Burrito, enchiladas, chips and guac - Mexican Near Me - Ellsworth, Maine

We are staying in the area this month and have been here twice now. I will state that I am very particular about authentic Mexican cuisine. It's a really cute vibe and the decor is great. The first time was honestly a bit underwhelming, as the service was a bit impersonal and the food was decent, but bland. I had a grilled chicken burrito the first time and it had no seasoning to speak of. Fortunately, I carry my own personal bottle of Tajin & hot sauce, so these amped up my meal. However, the second visit, the waitress was much more personable and even nudged me to try the shredded chicken as it "has more flavor". So I ordered the Chimi Fajitas with shredded chicken and Charro beans. She was correct, the meal was much better. The chicken was moist and flavorful. The rice is fresh and fluffy. The charro beans were good, but not great. My husband liked his meal both times, enchilada supremas. We will be back. read more

Late lunch on a Wednesday afternoon. We were seated promptly in a booth in the back. Chicken chimichangas and a chicken/vegetable entree were ordered. We enjoyed the chips and salsa while waiting for the food. Food was ok, nothing special to call attention to. The waiter was very inattentive, we did sit for two hours of visiting, and I finally had to go ask for the check! read more

Went here on a vacation with some family who are vegetarians. We were seated and before ordering asked about their rice which has chicken stock. The server told us we could substitute rice for black beans. Once we ordered, we asked to substitute rice for black beans and were told no substitutions. After speaking with a manager, they still did make the substitution. We paid for drinks we ordered and left to find a more vegetarian friendly spot. Left feeling disappointed in their service as most Mexican restaurants are able and willing to substitute sides especially when there are dietary restrictions. read more

Well, sorta', kinda' good. Food tasty, ambience loud, and service really on the slow side. To be fair, we arrived for dinner at 6pm on Saturday night, so not unexpectedly the restaurant was crowded. Our table was close to another one, and our server seemed to have too many tables to cope with in spite of good efforts. That said, the fare was simple and tasty: the hard tacos were fresh and crunchy, the salsa delicious, the salsa not too hot, though the cheese dip wasn't quite hot enough (temperature-wise). So good and bad, here, but we'd probably return for this basic fare Mexican restaurant. (Sorry for the lousy photo - we couldn't find a good place for an outside shot) read more

Casa Jalisco - On a cool night no one outside - Mexican Near Me - Ellsworth, Maine

If you're in the Downeast area, there's not a lot of options if you're looking for Mexican food. Casa Jalisco is the place to go if you're looking for easy, uncomplicated Mexican fare. Service is quick and friendly. Prices are reasonable and there's something for everybody on their menu. They also have a pretty extensive drink menu and very nice bar area. I saw that they added an outdoor patio area for dining so I will definitely check that out next time I go! read more

Best Mexican restaurant! On vacation and needed a small break from lobster. Service was great and food was amazing.

Since it has opened, Casa Jalisco has become one of my family's favorite restaurants! The food is excellent, reasonably priced, and always served with a smile from one of their waiters or waitresses. The interior is tastefully decorated, and there is a warm and inviting ambiance. If you're in Ellsworth and are looking for authentic Mexican cuisine, I would recommend Casa Jalisco! read more

Good food and service. I had the dinner special which is a combination of various dishes. It's a lot of food.

my fiancé and I were doing a DoorDash order we came to pick up the food. He went inside to grab the food. he was not greeted by a single person not even the host. six employees were standing near the front door. and all of them just looked at him at least once and did not serve him. he had to get their attention. on top of that they had attitude towards him and we're very short with him. The lady that did serve him could barely speak English and was not polite in the least. we have also eaten here before and not been served properly. This is not the first time that we have heard of these things happening at this location. Please do better. read more

Decent spot for take out or to dine in. My friends and I grabbed dinner rather late so we ordered take out but the order on the website did not go through. We ordered again in person and the prices were different even when I showed the ordered items online. Confused why there would be a discrepancy. The portions were large and hearty but I wish the experience of ordering was smoother. Seems like a local favorite though and would recommend to anyone passing through the area. read more

The Only reason I'm choosing to give them 2 stars is for their Service. The server was friendly and gave good suggestions ("don't order the seafood it's not fresh"). So, as far as what we ordered .. The food was horrible!! I would NOT recommend this restaurant to anyone wanting good, fresh, authentic Mexican food. Casa Jalisco is not serving authentic Mexican dishes. The quality of food is similar to a famous Fast Food Taco establishment with a Bell. The food served was frozen, processed and the salsa .... Wow don't even get me started!! Everything we ordered was covered in a very bland tangy sauce and imitation cheese. Do yourself a favor and travel to Bangor to Chipotle. There at least you get some fresher food make quick and you can see what is put into your meal. read more
