    Chicken quesadilla

We tried Langosta while visiting Bar Harbor after a morning in Acadia. From the outside, it doesn't look like much and you'd probably walk past it if you didn't know what it was. Inside, while a small storefront, is a very nicely decorated restaurant with good vibe. The Pros: The staff was very friendly, quick to seat us and take our drink/food order. The food came out very quickly as well and was delicious for the most part. We started with an appetizer of the trio of dips (salsa, queso and guacamole w/chips), then ordered a chicken quesadilla and a barbacoa burrito bowl. The chicken quesadilla and the burrito bowl had a great flavors. The Cons: The trio of dips was good, less the guacamole. It came out with liquid in the middle of it and had absolutely no flavor to it. That said, the salsa and the queso were very tasty. While overall delicious, the portion sizes and the pricing are not aligned. $51 and change before tip is astronomically high.

Some of the best tacos I've ever had! The lobster one was so good but their beef barbacoa was phenomenal. The perfect amount of spicy. a for sure hidden gem in Bar Harbor. And the server was so nice! Loved the place

Friendly prompt service. Great vegetarian options. My son loved his Barbacoa bowl (beef). Generous serving. My blueberry lemon margarita was refreshing and hit the spot after a long day of hiking in Acadia.

Really good lobster queso. Chips to cheese to lobster ratio was just right. Beef barbacoa was very flavorful with just the right heat profile

We had a tasty lunch on a weekday. The place was full at one point and people had to wait for a seat. I had the beef kid taco meal. The shredded beef is spicy! My friend had the beef bowl. The chips and salsa were tasty for $6. Service was good. There is metered street parking. The place is clean.

Really enjoyed the food. Our toddler devoured the kid's chicken taco! I had the sweet potato and mushroom burrito. Nice service and decor.

Omg there is so much to say about this small Mexican restaurant! We came in around 2 for lunch they were able to fit a party of ten in with only 26 seats. THIS IS THE CUTEST RESTAURANT I HAVE EVER SEEN! The colors are beautiful together and the decorations fit right in! I ordered my food within minutes. And was so impressed by my food! I ordered the chicken quesadilla with a side of sour cream. Hands down the best quesadilla I have ever had in my life! My friends all said the same. The quesadillas were large and filling (especially after a 15 mile bike ride ‍). I don't know if I was just hungry but I would absolutely come back but unfortunately ten hours in a car is not the most fun . This place deserves a 10 stars easily. I am so impressed by this restaurant. I'm blown out of the water. I am so amazed.

Lobster tacos- be sure and ask for the cilantro lime sauce and pour over!

Seriously impressed with this little taco shop! We had the beef barbacoa, pork carnitas and the lobster tacos and while all three were scrumptious I'll be dreaming about that barbacoa later for sure. Pro tip- get the cilantro lime sauce and pour over your tacos, esp if you're getting the lobster tacos. Our 3 year old got the quesadilla and black beans and ate it up. IMO; the black beans and rice can be improved upon. Hubs got the blueberry lemonade and I got a lime margarita. The margarita was fantastic- none of the syrup-y junk. The blueberry lemonade was perhaps one of the best drinks I've ever had? My eyes rolled back in my head while drinking it so so yourself a favor and grab one of those. We got the chips and queso for a starter and they were also really yummy. For Bar Harbor pricing I thought the prices were really low, especially for the quality of tacos.

Wow, was this a fun lunch! We were looking for something fun and this was it! We had the lobster tacos and the lobster queso and chips. It's was really good and super generous on the lobster portions. The lobster queso really blew me away. Lobster.... And queso.... Awesome! Super delicious and fun.

Mexican Food in Maine? Absolutely!…read more We found this amazing Mexican spot right in the middle of downtown Bar Harbor, and let me tell you the location couldn't be better! Families were walking by, live music was playing across the street, and people were sitting barefoot on the grass trying to stay grounded. Meanwhile, we were being spiritually guided by the smell of Mexican food coming from Salsa Verde Grill. It pulled us in like a tractor beam! We started with the fresh guacamole, blue corn chips, and their Christmas sauce a combination of red and green sauce. Oh man Christmas came early! That sauce was so good I almost asked for it in a cup with a straw. My wife ordered the steak burrito, and it was so big she couldn't finish it. Imagine that! I ordered the enchiladas topped with a fried egg, refried beans, and rice. Oh boy, I was stuffed but somehow kept eating like I was training for the Mexican Food Olympics. Our daughter ordered the same thing as Dad, but hers was smothered in that delicious holiday sauce. She couldn't finish hers either. My wife and daughter are a couple of wimps! Or maybe I'm just a big-backed roly-poly with no quit in me. The food was flavorful, the portions were generous, and the atmosphere was perfect. We absolutely recommend Salsa Verde Grill when visiting Bar Harbor. Come hungry, wear stretchy pants, and don't blame me when that Christmas sauce has you licking the plate. Bye-bye now!

When you are forced to WALK OUT of a restaurant with starving kids because the garbage they put on your table is completely INEDIBLE, that tells you everything you need to know. Our family travels constantly, we love great food, and we have had a fantastic time in Bar Harbor--until this total disaster. My daughter ordered a simple chicken taco and they handed her dry, rock-hard poultry crammed into a stale, salt-bomb hard shell with ZERO toppings, zero salsa, zero dressing, and ZERO EFFORT. My other daughter's quesadilla was packed with so much cheap, rubbery cheese that she LITERALLY CHOKED ON IT. And to top off that insult, they served her RANCH DRESSING and tried to claim it was sour cream! As for my enchiladas? A COMPLETELY LAUGHABLE DISGRACE TO MEXICAN CUISINE. A soggy, slimy, undercooked DISASTER. AND THEN CAME THE OWNER. This arrogant joke of a manager explicitly ADMITTED: "Yeah, those enchiladas could have gone in for longer!" YET HE STILL REFUSED TO COMP A SINGLE CENT. He didn't offer to remake the food, didn't offer a refund, and didn't even have the basic decency to offer chips and guac to-go for our hungry kids! When my husband confronted him--"You do see the way you are treating customers, right? You didn't offer me anything for this horrible experience"--this guy ACTUALLY LAUGHED IN OUR FACES AND SAID, "I DON'T OWE YOU ANYTHING." UNBELIEVABLE. DISGUSTING. Our family ALWAYS treats the food and beverage industry with the grace and respect it deserves. We NEVER return food, we NEVER complain, and we NEVER disrespect servers. In all our travels, we have NEVER encountered an owner who wouldn't bend over backward if a guest was unhappy. But this place? A total scam run by a smug, toxic narcissist. DO NOT WASTE A SINGLE PENNY HERE. THEY NEED NEW OWNERSHIP IMMEDIATELY!

However, we weren't too tired to eat it, so we had the food delivered from Side Street Cafe. So glad we did it that way cuz it was terrific... and easy to arrange ! My hubby ordered their Cubano sandwich while I ordered a cheeseburger. He loved his Cubano, which came with a side of mac 'n cheese. The mac 'n cheese was light in flavor, I think because of the kind of cheese used. I prefer more flavor, but it wasn't bad either. My( burger was quite large, and it was really tasty... very nicely seasoned beef patty, and it had all the things I like... cheese, lettuce, tomato, onion, pickle.... and catsup. I was very happy. It came with fries, but I had my fill of fries with all the lobster rolls I had ordered along the way, so I didn't eat them. Plus, there was a slice of blueberry pie calling out to me, so I wanted to blow my calories with the pie... and so glad I did cuz it was another spectacular piece of blueberry pie. Against my will, I split it with my hubby. Lol. It was a great way to end our meal. (Turns out we never got dinner that night cuz we were so full from such a nice lunch.) Side Street Cafe is definitely going on my radar if we're ever fortunate enough to return to Bar Harbor.

Off the beaten tourist path and open year round, PP lives up to the reviews and hype. We made a mistake our first night in Bar Harbor going to a tourist trap and getting a rubbery lobster roll and sad chowder. I did a bit of research online and found Peekytoe and was SO glad for it. While you don't get a water view, but a cute walk down the main drag, it is WELL worth the excursion AND HOW. My husband said his Crabby Patty was the best crab cake sandwich he ever had. I agreed in as I had the cake as an app. I also got a Halibut dish with pickled fiddleheads (a local green I might liken to okra for lack of other reference) and blistered tomatoes. It was moist, well cooked fish, amazing sides with phenomenal heightening elements. We also enjoyed our cocktails immensely. GO if you are a foodie and don't want a lame wannabe roll with some kids grilled cheese sides, DO this spot. SO well worth it. PS to manament - I know you do a brunch. MAKE SURE YOU DO A CRABCAKE BENEDICT. Your crab cakes are divine and with a slight seared crunch. Ideal. You can even do a lemon-fiddlehead or blistered tomato HOLLANDAISE. I'd be IN IN as I am sure most people would. The vinegary elements from the fiddleheads to (I think) my husband's pickled onion atop his crabby patty MADE the CRABCAKES THE STAR.

When asked for the WiFi password at the beginning of the meal, she said "I'll ask" and never got back to us until the end of the meal, when we had to remind her. When taking our orders, she specifically asked if we wanted cold butter or warm butter on our lobster. While my friends wanted cold butter, they got warm. Food was subpar. While the price for lobster here is cheaper than most places, my lobster ended up being very rubbery. Partner ordered a pineapple ginger juice, and it was VERY heavy on the ginger and tasted "off", like drinking kimchi. I didn't care for the sweet potato mash, it did not go with the dish (lobster) at all, but the cucumbers were ok. Portions were uneven. My friends got the same lobster as I did, and yet they got significantly less lobster. Finally, while I know this wasn't a restaurant problem, I feel as they failed to act accordingly. One of my friends went to go to the restroom, and saw a man laying down on the floor. Staff were notified, but the staff seemingly did nothing; we asked the staff for an update and they just shrugged us off (because we were concerned for that man).
