Another one of my regular spots... Lani and Quinn are great. It's a comfortable place to get drinks and food, and there is always good karaoke going on. The service is consistently good and there's enough variety with the menu to keep everybody happy (everything from tater tot nachos to a good salad!). Great bunch of people - we were tourists looking for karaoke, a girl at Starbucks recommended Chiko's. Drinks were good, inexpensive, expect to pay $1 per song to sing (it's like that all over in HI) Karaoke had a great selection of songs and a good system. You turn your songs into the bartender and can search for songs on the songbook online app, it was easy. The people were all lots of fun and the bartender was really nice. So... thanks to the girl from Starbucks bear Walmart! However .,,What she neglected to tell us was that she sent us to a gay bar!!! Let me tell you, we weren't sure at first if it was (not that it matters but ... ya know... ) it was confirmed when uber picked us up and he said he wondered what we were doing in there lol it really is a good time though. I finally made it to this place after reading about it in eXpressions magazine. HRFF had their volunteer appreciation night here, so I got to taste their food too, which was so good! The Kalua pork cabbage was fantabulous, and the fried rice was yummy. Apparently beer is $2 on Tuesdays...YES! Karaoke was in full effect, and the staff was very courteous. There was also a birthday celebration happening at the same time, so it was like 2 families merged together. Its not super huge, but the space is decent. Heard they remodeled, looks like it made for a more open space. Like this place a lot, will definitely be back! read more

I love coming to hang out at Chiko's. My favorite is when its not to crowded, because otherwise there isnt enough places to sit and it can be fairly loud. There is usually no cover, but occasionally there are special events where the cover is around $3 or something but I usually avoid those nights. I come here a lot to play darts with my friends, but its only possible when its not to crowded otherwise there isnt enough space between the tables and the dart boards are to play comfortably. The food is super yummy. My favorites are the grilled cheese and mochiko chicken. read more

I can't believe I never wrote a review for this place! So this place is me and my co-workers go to pau hana bar. We come here usually at least once a week and have been for a while now. Food is good, tater tot nachos and their seasoned edamame is a MUST. Drinks are pretty good and the service is always friendly. It's a solid place i think if you wanna come with some of your friends to pre-game or just chill. We usually come here on Sundays because of free karaoke!! :) I assume parking can get kinda complicated with the yakiniku buffet next door but usually after the usual rush times I can get parking no problem. read more

Chiko's was a pleasant surprise to cap a night of yummy eats and drinks. After our yummy meal at Sweet Home Café, we walked over to Pint and Jigger to play shuffle board and then stumbled into Chiko's on whim. It's funny how you discover cool places this way. Chiko's is a really fun spot. We came in rather late, so we did not get to eat any of their food because the kitchen was closed, but we did order some drinks to enjoy while we played darts and sang karaoke. Again, Hawaii has no shortage of great Karaoke performers and this place is no exception. Everyone in here was belting out the tunes and they sounded great. I was a little intimidated to step up to the plate, but once I did, people were singing along with me...yay! Victory is mine! They have a couple of dart boards and a pool table too. The look of the bar is pretty cool. It is what you picture an old school bar to look like. It has kind of dim lighting and some high tops along with lots of comfy booths. The staff is also really sweet. They didn't have a couple of the songs I wanted to sing, so they helped me select another song to sing. I think this place is a hidden treasure in Moiliili, so if you are in the area, give them a try. If you like karaoke, darts, billiards, booze and good company, you will have a good time. read more

Service was a little slow, considering there were only 2 other tables in the place. The staff were preoccupied by their phones some of the time. Waitress was very nice and very accomodating when she did come by. Bartender seemed pretty oblivious to the tables needing attention. Food was okay, the fryer oil definitely needs to be changed, so the food is not so greasy. Pool table needs much more lighting. Its so dark and that makes it very hard to see the balls. Me and my friends always go to Chiko's when we just want to relax and have a drink. The drinks are pretty cheap and they have a full bar. Plus, if you need something to do while you drink they have karaoke, darts and a pool table. I tend to like to go on the weekdays, since it's a little more mellow and not as many people. But that's because I like to relax. Though the weekends are fun as well w/ a nice local mix of people. They also have live bands, if you're into that. The staff are awesome too! Quinn and Lani are so friendly and I always get excellent service whenever I go there. Plus, if you plan on going to Waikiki after you can leave your car and carpool. This place is great. Darts, Pool, Beer, and Men! It sounds like this is going to be my most manly post to date. However, you would be wrong! Lol! Because when I am playing darts here I am squealing like a little girl Weeee! :D So much fun! I came here the other night for the first time since they renovated it. My BF used to take me out to Chiko's when we first met back before they re did it. Good memories, but the place looked like a hole! A little creepy like you would find a glory hole in the bathroom creepy. Now, the place is new and it has a good vibe! Still can be cramped on the weekends, but it's a bar! Expected. There is still dollar Karaoke, darts *only 3 machines*, and a pool table! Plenty to do while you lounge with your frosty beverage :D The staff are still the friendliest people around. Always smiling. I came back after all this time to find this place with so much life. Everyone I saw was having a good time. Great place to relax with friends. Interesting place to check out. Went with a few friends who may have been a bit questionable, but I accept people from all walks of life. This place is an open mic full bar party central. Didn't get the chance to try any of the food items each time I've been here I was a bit intoxicated and had a ton of fun with the karaoke bit. I have been a fan, customer, friend and even family member of Chikos Tavern for over 14 years. I have seen many bars come and go, or change ownership hands and fail, but not Chikos. This place is still one of islands most welcoming bar. I will continue to join Lani, Quin and the rest of the amazing staff as often as possible to have a great time. So this is a review based off of a private engagement. First time I have ever been here. Wow, the set up was really amazing! Their food was pupu-type and here is what they had: gourmet mini loco mocos, fried rice, crispy won tons, and something with spicy poke. I loved it! The loco moco had Japanese mushrooms in it. Parking is competitive with customers from Camellia Buffet so BEWARE! There is 2 entrances one next to the door next to the camilla entrance and the one out front. Upon entering the establishment, its not place to impress, its a bar so dark and musky come to mind. You can choose to sit at the bar, tables, or sofas. Drinks are decent, normal standard beers and alcoholic beverages. Food was a-ok nothing special or great. Ordered the french fries, bland no salt. Spicy BBQ wings was to greasy and small servings. Definitely not ordering any food if I come back. Highlight of the evening was free Karaoke on Sunday evenings which was cool! We came into Chiko's tonight to drink a little before our reservations at Camellia Buffet next door. We didn't stay long so I can't say much about the place. We had common drinks and no food. The place is dark. The staff was cordial but not memorable. There's a lot of seating and has a lot of things to do like darts, pool and karaoke. For some reason I thought Chiko's was located in Aiea, but it's not. It's located in McCully right by Camellia Buffet. I would definitely go to Chiko's again. The atmosphere is very laid back and chill. No uptightness here. They serve food pretty much all night, sooo...if you're an eater like me, you don't have drink on an empty stomach. I'm giving Chiko's a strong 4-star rating. Would've been a 5 but the a/c was not cooperating and it was HOT in there...and not in a good way. That said, I love this place! Drinks were strong, food was ono, karaoke was free, pool table was kicking okole and owner Leilani was handling the cooking, bartending and serving all on her own! We gathered there to support a lovelorn friend fresh off a longterm breakup...nothing a stiff drink won't cure and Chiko's delivered! We will definitely be back.
