My friends and I came here last night for a birthday celebration, for some snacks, drinks, and darts. We were having a good time, until we were told that we needed to end our dart game early because the machines closed at 8pm. I was surprised and never came across an Irish pub turning off their dart machines before a kids bedtime. It's not like the bar was closing or doing last calls. It wasn't really a busy night but wasn't dead either. Guess there's a first for everything. Most importantly, WE WERE NEVER TOLD about this and we were there playing for maybe a couple hours?? (ALSO... It would've been nice to know before we put money in the machine.) I explained to the server that we weren't told about the dart machines & if there's a way for us to get our money back. Her response was: If it'll make you FEEL better. Wth... no girl, it's not about my feelings, good grief, let's not get Oprah about this, mmmkay? It's about what's RIGHT. We eventually got our money back but not before I caught the eyeroll, which was the cherry to this one and only experience we're going to have here. What stink attitude. We just wanted something low key, and searching for a bar, the Black Shamrock came up. It's in the old space that housed O'Tooles. I had never been, because it looked too seedy...LOL! The Shamrock is a welcomed change to a really cool space. What a great place to come to! They have really opened the space up and it's much brighter and inviting. The bartenders are friendly and make some really good drinks! We also spoke to the owners and it was fun to hear the story behind the purchase and renovations of the bar.
