Lychee lemonade
Talar P.

Wonderful! We were in Vista and did a search for thai food nearby, and Chiim Thai in Oceanside showed up. Glad we decided to go for it, because it was a delicious experience. We were seated immediately, and ordered the Lychee Lemonade, Crispy Rolls, Pad Thai with Chicken, and Drunken Noodle with Shrimp. Their spice levels are "mild, medium, spicy" instead of the number system other Thai restaurants use. We went with "medium" and it had a really good kick. We were sweating by the end of our meal, but it was the good (flavorful) kind of heat. The drinks and food were beautifully presented. If you like lychee, do not skip the lemonade. Worth it. Everything was fresh and delicious. Most of the menu items had options to be made vegetarian, too. It's a small little restaurant, super cozy, great date spot. They have a few small tables set up outside, too. We'll definitely be making the trek from Escondido to Oceanside for this restaurant in the future.

Grilled Pork Neck and Sticky Rice

Made a spontaneous visit here for dinner and they did not disappoint. Although the place is small, it packs a mighty punch with the Thai cuisine. We ordered the Panang curry with pork belly, chicken thai fried rice, pad pad bam boong (story dri's pork belly with greens), crispy vegetable rolls, grilled pork neck and sticky rice, Tom Kha with tofu and the Tom Yum with shrimp. Every single delish was delightful! The service was quick and friendly; our waitress gave us great suggestions and was very attentive. The place had a few seating and I can tell they will be popular, and wait will come with it. This is your sign to try great thai tastes at Chiim Thai.

My brother recommended having lunch here. It is a small restaurant and luckily we didn't have to wait for a party of five for lunch on Saturday. We ordered: Thai papaya salad Lao papaya salad Isaan style pork sausage Larb chicken Pad see ew chicken Pad thai chicken x2 Crab fried rice Sticky rice Thai iced tea Personally I love stronger and bolder flavor. I thought food was on the mild side in terms of flavor. Not completely bland. Pad Thai Chicken had a strong tamarind sauce flavor but everything else can use more flavor in my opinion. I believe they don't have pork at all. The server mentioned having crispy pork only so we ordered lots of chicken plates. Plenty of parking spaces in the plaza. One restroom available.

First time here. Small place but with ample seating. Here's what I tried: * Thai tea - Good. Creamy. 4/5. * Crab Fried Rice - Tasty. Good lump of crab. A bit oily. Could do with less onions. 4/5. * Pad See Ew with Shrimp - Flavors were spot on. Lots of shrimp. Wish it had more noodles. 4/5. * Mango Sticky Rice - Mango sweet. Sticky rice tasty but small portion. 4/5. Friendly Service. Prices average. Comfy bench seating. 1 shared restroom.

This is a small restaurant but gives big and delicious flavors. Limited seating but tonight seemed like people were coming and going at a good pace. Limited staff but the waitress was holding it down. Modest and clean. Limited seating for groups. But you can set up reservations on Yelp, which is nice. Food was bomb.com my husband enjoyed the spring rolls. Both the fried rice and pad Thai taste good on its own but when you add lime, it makes it so much more flavorful. I was pleasantly surprised by the pork belly, and feel like everyone needs to try this at least once. You'll be hooked. Was full but eating to satisfy my tastebuds. Will plan to return to try more options

People's reviews are a bit different from my experience. Got papaya salad with the crispy pork belly. pork is crispy but it was either overcooked or pork was low quality. papaya salad was standard. there was thai chili in there even though i got mild. so hot and so unpleasant.

So excited for a new thai spot to be in town! The restaurant is pretty small - has about 8-9 tables BUT it's worth the wait. We (group of 3 adults and 1 baby) got seated pretty quickly and ordered the papaya salad as a starter. Omg the salad was so good! The spice level was amazing! It got us spicy lovers hitttt with a boom. We ordered thai tea and it was so good. Very creamy! My friend ordered the pad see ew and wow, I need to order it next time because it was the best! The rest of the table, we ordered a pork belly dish with greens. It was very good! the pork belly was crispy! I also ordered myself the eggplant dish too which was good! overall, the food was great and we want to come back and order other items!

As per the recommendations of many people, I decided to give CHIIM THAI KITCHEN a try. It's a small family-owned Thai restaurant that is a hole-in-the-wall in a plaza. They are located on Mission Ave & El Camino Real in the inland region of Oceanside California. I ordered their BASIL CHICKEN FRIED RICE and it was a great portion size and had spectacular flavor! I highly recommend that you customize the spice heat level on it if you're sensitive to heat. They have great control over the heat levels too. Service was fast, friendly and attentive. They aren't typically too crowded inside and that's a good thing, because the interior is VERY small. I think there's enough seating for 20 people max. But this leads to a very personalized experience; you will never be neglected. Their parking lot is shared with the shopping center and there's typically spots available facing the street. Overall, I love their mango sticky rice dessert & their fried bananas with coconut icecream for dessert too. I highly recommend checking out Chiim Thai Kitchen!

Chiim has our hearts, and our wallets! I've been eyeing this place for a while since they've opened and I'm so glad we finally went! The food was AMAZING, and service was attentive and detailed given there was one host tending to all the tables (even the ones outside) plus managing online and walk-in orders. There were so many things we wanted to try, so in a way it was good they were sold out of a few items (chicken wings and Thai tea ice cream) - it helped us make up our minds when ordering, lol. Food. + som dtam (aka papaya salad). Good for sharing or for one! Wish the papaya was a little more mature but nonetheless it was still delicious! + gailan w/pork belly. Loved the veggies and the pork, crisped perfectly! + crab fried rice. So good. Love the way they do it here, and there are lumps of crab on top with the egg. This and the gailan are two of their most recommended items. + pad siew (some people might be used to reading it as pad see eu). We ordered this with tofu and the dish was perfect! The way they season and cooked the tofu was packed with flavor, I'd get this again in a heartbeat. + mango sticky rice. We placed an order and our kids devoured it, so we ended up placing another one. They were thoughtful enough to give a few extra mango slices for our kids. That small gesture means so much to us Drinks. + Thai tea. I am a sucker for good Thai tea and they do it right here, packed with flavor! + Mango tea. This is the BEST mango tea we've had (and we've had a few). I'd pick this over Thai tea in a heartbeat. We also had someone join us about 40 minutes after dining, and the waitress / server quickly grabbed another chair so they could sit. She also got them their own place setting and some water. Her attention to detail was timely and on point. It's been forever since we've had service like this! We arrived on a Saturday night before 5pm and the restaurant was full by 5:30. This is a small no- frills family owned restaurant, with undoubtedly the best Thai food in town! Believe the reviews, they are legit. Give this place a try if you're in the area! Pad See Ew!

So there was a little bit of a revolving door at this location between the last Thai restaurant and Chiim. I really did love the previous owner. I was definitely worried about what would come afterwards, but I did not worry for a very long because the food here is excellent! Don't hesitate just come! I definitely have long bouts of hiatus when it comes to Yelp reviews, but after tonight's meal, I just couldn't help myself and wanna share what a success this place is and has been and it has a really bright future ahead. I am very fortunate enough to be able to speak Thai and the one place I get to practice is here. The service is amazing whether I'm speaking Thai while ordering my meal in Thai or I'm speaking English. The owner and the staff aim to please as they always react to you when you walk in and they're constantly making sure people are OK while receiving phone calls and people walking in to pick up their food. For the restaurant itself it does feel a little tiny, but it feels crowded enough to feel fun to be in. It has definitely picked up pace since it's opened but I absolutely love it and I'm really happy for them. So the dishes themselves well they're delicious! My go to is always Pad See Ew and it is a 10 out of 10!! My absolute favorite right now is their gaprao, which is minced chicken with basil, red bell pepper and green onions. It is served next to a bed of rice with a fried egg on top. It is to die for and I would eat it every day if I could! I have also had their Pad Thai, Tom Kha Gai, Drunken noodles, Basil fried rice and they are all A+ dishes! I would say that the cook pays very close attention to the texture the taste, and the temperature of all the dishes! Wow! Another awesome thing that they do is they serve Thai tea there with oat milk! Definitely a different take and if you want to half-and-half, then they do that as well, of course. But it is refreshing with oat milk and I really like it. I hope this place never changes and never leave leaves because since I live close by, I want to go there at least once a week for the rest of my life. The end.

I had their food in the past by ordering from Door Dash. I usually get their Pork Pad Thai. It's my favorite dish! They make the pork belly so crispy!! So yummy!! I tried their Edamame with garlic sauce. You must try this appetizer! It was delicious!Service was great and the place is full! Even though it's a small restaurant it has a unique atmosphere. I like it a lot! Love to come back and try their other dishes next time!!

Pad Thai with pulled pork

Chiim Thai may be my new place to go for Thai food in San Luis Rey Oceanside. The menu is incredibly easy to navigate, with a simple layout but a variety of options to suit your appetite. The layout is also very simple as the tables are setup in a shotgun style format with a single line from the entrance to the back. It was less than 5 minutes from ordering our appetizer to having it arrive. I recommend the Chicken Puff for a very savory treat before your meal. For dinner we each had Pad Thai, one order with chicken and another with pulled pork. Each came out at the perfect temperature and exactly at the desired spice level. Points to my server for giving me "Thai spicy hot" by request, and confirming that I wanted this extra level of hot, because I welcome and encourage very spicy hot Thai. The meals were the perfect size for us to be full and to have leftover to take home once we finished. Our server Apple was a delight. She took care of us from start to finish. On top of being incredibly friendly, she made sure every part of our meal was exactly as requested and that we were happy overall. She really made our dinner memorable. Overall, we loved our visit and plan on returning.
