Definitely one of the best in the area! Had done take out and dined in in the past. Here are some of my favs: Chiharu pancake, torched yellowtail roll, scorpion roll, spicy titanic roll, and sashimi salad. Their house chiharu roll is also very interestingly good! Their ramen is also very comforting. The space is a tad small/tight and if it's crowded, expect a wait! Overall, definitely worth a shot.

I was really excited to try this place due to the raving reviews, but felt very underwhelmed eating here. The service is very good and our waitress was very kind. We only ordered sushi and it was just okay. Definitely not worth what they're charging. I remember one piece of fish being extremely cold so I imagine it was recently pulled out of the freezer. If you do get sushi pieces, the mackerel and squid are good. I don't think I'd be rushing back here anytime soon. They have about 2-3 parking spots in their small lot.

Unassuming on the outside, the interior of this small, authentic spot is clean and beautiful. The service was personal, friendly and quick. They do not skimp on anything! The ramen is huge, and the nigiri is the biggest piece of rice and fish I have ever seen. Both the rice and fish were soft too. The rolls were delicious and creative. The miso soup with full of tofu and seaweed, and the drinks are unique, Sapporo served with a chilled glass. The edamame was also good quality. I hope to return here.

I unexpectedly discovered this charming restaurant and was pleasantly surprised. The cozy ambiance and the friendly staff made my experience even more enjoyable. The food was absolutely delightful--I loved the miso ramen and the fresh sushi. Although it's a 40-minute drive from my home, I can't wait to return; it's genuinely worth the journey

We sought out a place with sushi and ramen for a rainy gray sky Saturday and can't believe this place was nearby all along! We were welcomed as soon as we walked in, and there were about 3 other tables being served. Ambiance: There were light piano tunes playing in the background very easy going and allowed for easy conversation keeping. Tidy and refreshing in a semi small space but about 5-6 seating tables and sushi bar seatings. The plants by the windows were beautiful, and there was simple but beautiful decor too. Great touched from the chopstick holders to plating, tea pots, and cups. Service: Our server was beyond friendly and willing to give details on items of the menu or options if we asked, which was much appreciated. She was constantly checking in throughout our meal and did very well clearing up as we finished plates. Food: We had an assortment of items which added up quickly, but it was SUPER worth it! The Shumai was steaming fresh and delicious! Edamame too and they were both out in id say 5-10 minutes. The entrees took only another 10-15 or so minutes to come out consisted of sushi [lobster roll & tiger roll and spicy salmon hand roll] and the house beef soup, all of which were large and savory portions. We decided to order a pot of the chrysanthemum tea, and it hit the spot perfectly, complimenting the dishes with a simple flavor and perfect touch to this cold, gloomy weather. Price: Everything was large portioned and extravagant in flavor, so it's well worth it!! Already can't wait to return for dessert sometime !!

My friends and I arrived at Chiharu right when it opened on the weekend, and it was not too busy. There is a small parking lot next to the driving school with designated parking spots for this restaurant, but the space is a bit tight there. There is also only one server, so the service is not exceptionally fast. I ordered sashimi salad, salmon sashimi, scallop sashimi, kiss of fire roll, spider roll, phoenix roll, spicy titanic roll, and torched yellowtail roll. My favorite was the spicy titanic roll, but I also quite enjoyed the phoenix roll and kiss of fire roll. The sashimi slices are a bit thin in the sashimi salad, but I did enjoy the variety of fish and vegetables present. My favorite sashimi was the yellowtail, which tasted quite fresh and delicious. All the seafood in the rolls tasted really fresh and good, including the shrimp tempura. My least favorite was the torched yellowtail roll as I did not taste much yellowtail, and the eel felt lackluster. The scallop sashimi was alright, and the salmon sashimi was on the leaner side. I enjoyed the careful effort put into the presentation of all these sushi. Unfortunately, their other special rolls do not sound as appealing to me, but I would come back again since their sushi tastes fresh!

Flavors - 3 Textures - 4.5 Presentation - 4 Value for Money - 4 Would Return? Yes Must-try: Tan Tan Ramen I loved a lot of things about this Ramen, but the one thing that brought the score down was the lack of salt. If it had been better seasoned this would be one of the best ramens! The noodles were super thin, springy and cooked al dente. The pork was generous and fell apart in your mouth of how tender it was. The broth had complexity and you could taste the different ingredients in there. The egg was perfectly soft boiled. I also loved the ratios of broth, to noodles to toppings! I would recommend going here and adjust the seasoning with soy sauce/salt and Sriracha.

Food was great! Very fresh! Folks are really nice. They are short staffed like a lot of restaurants now. Most customers order take out for pick up. Very unassuming spot. I've driven by a lot of times but wasn't aware this restaurant was here. Will have to order take out next time!

We came for early dinner on a Friday evening. There was only oneguests when we arrived. However, the service was really slow. It took more than 10 min to take our order, and more than 30min for the food to be served. The food was fantastic, good taste and good presentation! My favorite is samurai roll. Steamed juicy bun was delicious too. Shaun ramen was in good portion and tasted pretty good.

Finally. A ramen place in Boston that hits all the right notes. I went to Chiharu on a snowy day to try its tan tan ramen, and it quickly became my favorite ramen in Boston. At first I was hesitant to order the tan tan ramen since I don't care much for peanuts, but the amount of peanut sauce was small compared to the rest of the broth. The peanut flavor was nowhere near as strong as I had expected, and the combination of the peanut sauce and the broth was actually really tasty. The highlight for me was the chashu pork, which was well-seasoned and incredibly delicious. It was easily the best chashu on ramen I've had in years. I also asked for something to make my broth spicy, and my server gladly gave me some chili oil. The chili oil wasn't spicy, but it added another layer of flavor which I really liked. Unfortunately Chiharu is pretty tiny. When I went for dinner one time without a reservation I was asked to wait for 20 minutes. I strongly suggest going for lunch time or making a reservation for dinner time.

Delicious!! We were pleasantly surprised by how great the sushi was here. My friend ran by this spot a few times and as sushi lovers, we decided to try it out. Boy were we glad that we stopped by! We walked in at 6:30pm on a Friday and were seated without a wait. Perfect timing because it really picked up and was completely full by the time we left. The staff was super friendly attentive to our needs. Our food took a while to come out but it's worth the wait as the food was absolutely delicious!! They really use fresh ingredients and the fish is high quality. On top of delicious food, the presentation was beautiful as well. As someone who has tried quite a few sushi spots in Boston, I would say they are one the best when you compare price vs quality. We highly recommend Chiharu and will definitely be coming back!

Amazing food and fresh tasting sushi. Cute and cozy spot. It was good service but took a bit to order and bring out the food but I suspect it was just taking a while for all the tasty goodness to be prepared.

Located a short hop from Harvard Business School, we chose this store over the Harvard Square as it has later hours (open until 10 pm.) The shop is a bit down in the mouth; we would suggest a reset on the interior which is brightly lit but showing considerable signs of wear and tear. Our server greeted us with a bright smile and she provided superb service throughout our visit. We started with the karaage which was nicely breaded and well seasoned - ten pieces fried crispy on the outside with moist chicken inside. The star here is ramen, of course and all of the choices feature a tonkotsu base. We both ordered the Tonkotsu Toroniku Ramen - one with a shio broth and the other with shoyu. The shoyu had a shake of hondashi which gave it a more traditional taste profile. Toroniku is particulalry delectable and not easy to find. Tender slices of cheek meat sat atop perfectly al dente noodles. We included side orders of additional toroniku and aji tama. The aji tama was done to perfection - that ideal spot between soft and hard boiled yolk. We highly recommend this shop for the quality of the ramen. We marked it down only because the interior needs a face lift. Not sure if one needs a reservation as we arrived at 9 pm and were seated immediately. For those who embrace the quest for impeccablly prepared ramen we highly recommend the Itami Juzo's classic, Tampopo. If you understand Tampopo then you will grasp the significance of well crafted ramen to the Japanese soul.
