Delicious food and excellent service. I've been coming here for a few years now. The quality of…read morefood here is always the best. I've tried their jalea (crispy fried shrimp, fried yucca, fried squid, fried fish, fresh mussels), cau-cau (honeycomb tripe stew with tumeric sauce served with white, tallarin verde con bistec (pesto sauce with pasta and grilled steak), and papa a la huancaina (steamed potato covered with yellow pepper cheese sauce + a olive on the side). Every single one of those dishes are very delicious. My favorite is the jalea. Get the large! Additionally, I really enjoy their chicha morada. It is very refreshing and not too sweet. I recommend the half pitcher for a table of two. Great spot for a date or just to catch up with friends!

The choclo and the amount of ceviche is delicious. You can share or you can have a plate of your own. If your like me you want a plate or your own. After we tend to get a entree to split which is usually more than enough food. The service it usually pretty quick here and you are not waiting a long time. The food is flavorful and tastes fresh. The sangria here is also the perfect amount of liquor to juice. But we only wish that there were more fruits. The desert, alfajor, was baked just right. It's tough to find a good alfajor but this place has one of the best in the areas. This is a small restaurant so get there early and give it a try. It is a great place for Peruvian food!

Caravan Chicken - My lunch, 1/2 chicken w/ pork fried rice and salad. Rice was decent, Salad was meh, Chicken was amazing. Inca Kola is also a solid beverage.

This stop officially completed my "chicken run" for the month. Walking in, Caravan Chicken's setup…read moreand decor felt eerily familiar. Once I saw the nearly identical menu, it clicked: this is clearly a sister restaurant to Peking BBQ with the same ownership. The discovery was a slight letdown, as it took away the excitement of trying something truly new. That said, I've concluded that Caravan is actually the better go-to spot for Chinese-Peruvian rotisserie chicken. Most items run about 50 cents more than at Peking BBQ, but the markup is well worth it: Better location: Astoria beats Woodside for convenience. Better ambiance: It doesn't feel dumpy, and people actually sit down to dine in. Card-friendly: They accept credit cards without surcharges, whereas Peking BBQ is strictly cash-only. We ordered a whole chicken to go for $17.82 plus tax. It took around 20-25 minutes, though the wait likely depends on where your bird falls in the rotisserie cycle. The pickup station is at a separate counter near the entrance, so if you wait at one of the dining tables, keep an ear out for your order. The chicken and green sauce tasted just as expected--identical to Peking BBQ. Still, thanks to the cleaner vibe, card acceptance, and prime spot, Caravan Chicken earns an extra star in my book.

The chicken was good, better than Costco but of course more expensive. I thought the ribs were tough and not sure why people like this. The fried rice was decent and the salad was a nice touch. I tried a bite of the beef lo Mein and surprisingly, it was better than I expected. If you order in, they will bring you your food with their green sauce. I brought in a drink not realizing the policy but they didn't say anything. Pay and tip in cash. Also, they opened around 11:45am so no use in getting there right at opening.
