seafood pho, side of brisket and of course the toppings with extra limes

Leon H.

Great place! The ambience and service was up-to-par. Friendly server and they got a robot food runner. Huge room and tables are pretty spaced out nicely. I ordered the chili oil wontons , seafood pho with a side of the brisket. Everything I ate was delicious. The wontons were my favorite (thinking about them as I write this review). Washed it all down at the end with a diet coke and thai tea. This place is worth trying and I highly recommend it.

My husband was craving pho so we decided to give this spot a try. The restaurant is spacious and open. We were immediately greeted and told we could pick wherever we wanted to sit. They quickly provided menus and waters. We ordered grilled pork spring rolls, chili oil wontons, and the create your own pho with rare steak to share. Our server was very friendly and offered to bring an extra bowl since we told him we were sharing. The dishes were brought to us by a robot. Every dish came out hot and fresh. We enjoyed all of it. The portions were good. We ate all of it; it was the perfect amount of food for us to share. I want to try their banh mi next time.

We came here for a quick dinner. They weren't super busy on a Thursday night. We had out 1.5 year old with us and they were very accommodating with the mess he made. They also provided a separate bowl and extra noodles for him to share with us. I tried their Pho Seafood ($17) and it was pretty good! I'm not usually a fan of pho, but I liked how clean and aromatic their broth was. There was also a lot of seafood. I also appreciate that they asked if I wanted onions and cilantro because I wouldn't have thought to omit it. Overall, I would return if I was in the area and craving Vietnamese food. All of their other items also looked delicious!

This place seems pretty big but decorations were minimal. We were able to submit our order via QR code online. Our coffee came out right away, usually I don't like Vietnamese coffee at restaurants because it's usually too bitter for me but this one was creamy and I love it, tastes just like Lee's coffee minus the huge amount of ice. It was a nice big cup of coffee to share midday. We also shared our meals, the house special pho with the rib bone and grilled beef banh mi. The grilled beef in the banh mi wasn't as hot, and it was ok. The pickled veggies could have been cut a little smaller, but it does have a nice crunch. The pho was good, I wish it was pipping hot where it could kind of burn my tongue though. Lol It was big enough if you're hungry or share if you want to try other stuff.

Great addition to Escondido. Plenty of parking. This space is huge with high ceilings. Very simple decor and they use a robot to bring food to your table. The menu had a bit of everything from pho, noodle soup, bánh mì, to rice dishes to vermicelli. A mix of Chinese cuisine too. You can scan the QR and place the order through there or wait for them to come by. We ordered: Wings - 6 decent size wings that seem to be baked not fried. It was juicy all the way through. The veggies were lightly stir fried. Chili oil wonton - 10 wontons, honestly it tastes like something you get at Costco Business that's restaurant quality. It tastes better if you squeeze lime. Inside has pork w shrimp in the middle. Pho house- Served in the metal bowls. The ribs were big but tough. It was chewy, not tender and didn't fall off the bones. Definitely needed more hours of simmering. Egg seafood noodle- Rare to see this at a Vietnamese place. I grew up eating egg noodles over pho and I was excited to get this. The broth was clean and on point but I was disappointed in the noodles. They had the bouncy chewy texture of ramen noodles not the Chinese egg noodles. Had fish balls that were cut in half, imitation crab, and small shrimps. Coffee- Tastes like Lee's Coffee. Strong, rich and creamy. Overall, this place has potential. If you can't make it south for Asian food, this place will do with a bit of fusion.

Came for lunch. Spacious and open space. We were able to seat ourselves and had the option to order via QR code or physical menu. Our server took our order and the food came out pretty quick by robot. Decent portions and my grilled pork chop was good and just what I wanted. My friend enjoyed her pho. Server forgot to enter our order of wings but that was fine since we were stuffed. Parking was easy in lot shared by other stores. Would come by again.

Saw this place on social media and decided to give it a try. My wife and I love support local businesses especially in our community! We walked in and the restaurant is very spacious with gorgeous interior and decorations. The owner greeted us at the door and allowed us to sit anywhere. I love that because sometimes I have a preference and that can be awkward to ask for a different table so I appreciated the option. We scanned the QR code and ordered the House Special Pho, Grilled Pork Bánh Mi and the Chili Oil Wonton. Oh and my wife got a beer! The House Special Pho had a huge beef bone in it which was cooked very tender and had a lot of flavor. It was packed with so much meat and noodles! And the pho broth was fragrant with such a sweet aroma and beautifuly sliced green onions in it that brought the whole dish together. So good! We drank a lot of the broth since it was a cold day out and the owner offered us more which was nice to have a little reheat on our pho! The pork bánh mi was very fresh and packed with pork, the bread was also fresh and baked perfectly, not sure if they make the bread in house or not but it was very good quality bread. And the Chili Wontons were so good! So much flavor and the chili oil was not over powering either. They tossed in some bokchoy with the wontons which was so great because that's my favorite veggies! Our food was brought out to us moving robot shelf server but the server put it on our table. Overall it was a delicious meal and great atmosphere. I look forward to trying more things on their menu!

House Special (I added jalapeños, onions, and beansprouts and herbs)

Christine T.

Came for lunch after a busy day of errands. It definitely hit the spot. Got the house special and added my favorite fixings (lots of onions and jalapeños). The broth was tasty, and the meat on the bone was tender and delicious. I only wish they offered some flank. That would take it over the top for me. They also have sate which was a very good compliment to the hoisin sauce. I also got the Vietnamese coffee. It was very good. A great balance of creamy and bold. Would definitely get it again. The place seems fairly modern and clean. They deliver food with a robot and you can order and pay with your phone.

Still hits the same every time I come here! Delicious ! Wife got the pork chop with fried rice this time! I'll be back again !

Shrimp, pork wontons in chili sauce with bok choy

Grace D.

The first time my husband & I went was on a Saturday & it was packed! The restaurant was clean, spacious & inviting. We ordered the shrimp, pork, egg roll vermicelli. & wontons in chili sauce. Both were amazing! What made the vermicelli different was the mini tomatoes, and tender meat. Portions were big, we shared. The 2nd time, I went was with a best friend on a Tuesday. We were greeted by the owner, who is very nice. We enjoyed a glass of wine, wontons in chili sauce & garlic noodles. If you are in Escondido, I highly recommend Chieu Kitchen. Let's continue to support local businesses in the area. You will not be disappointed!

Susan R.

The food is delicious!! Bit pricy but worth it! Still affordable. Pho soup and garlic chicken wings were out of this world! I found my new favorite restaurant to go to! The robot delivering the food is quite awesome to watch! Well done!

Char B.

I am so impressed by this restaurant. First when you walk in you can appreciate the modern interior design. Beautiful high ceilings & nice ceiling fans. Nice fish tank & plants. There is a QR code u can use on your phone to look at the menu or they have a physical menu also. What's nice is when you use the QR code they take into consideration of any food allergies you may have. I enjoyed the house fried rice, chili oil wontons & egg noodles. We also tried the Thai tea & milk tea. The food comes out to your table with a robot. I thought a nice touch was the matching gold utensils with gold bowls. The staff is also very friendly. The only down side is my cousin and I ordered a lot of stuff because we wanted to try multiple foods but our table was so small, next time we'll sit at a bigger table. The staff is very friendly! Hoping to come back next time and try other food items.

Doug F.

Went in here pretty late was only one family and myself Ordering was pretty quick. Ordered my chicken with rice and wings with rice. They actually got the orders mixed which it was better for me cause I got a free plate also. The wings thou were pretty delicious . Pepper and lime and buttered rice. Def will try it out again It was nice and quiet since I think they had an hour left to close so can't say much about the noise or service . But def try again since it's close by .

It's a new business. The staff was superb! I think of the staff was the actual owner. He was fantastic! Very polite and attentive. The first time I was there I ordered a Chinese soup at a Vietnamese restaurant. All the ingredient was there in the Hu Tieu Won Ton. But it have much room to be improved. The soup was not as hot and it was pretty bland. Even after I added Sriracha chilli to it. It was still a little bland. It's not bad! But also not good. My second time there, came in at 8:03pm, did not realize they closes at 8:00pm. Asked the owner, what time they close he said 8:00pm but still very polite and ask me to stay and order. No worries. Again, super nice! I ordered a Combo Phơ this time and was hoping to be better than the Hu Tieu wonton from last time. It's literally is a bit better. The broth of the pho was nice and clear, all the meats and tendons was included. It also have beef balls. That was a bonus! The only down side to this was the soup wasn't hot enough. I say that would be my fault for coming in so late. Maybe they were about to close up shop so they turned down the stove. Other than that. I will give this place another third try. Maybe try their Banh Mi to go next time. Just want to thanks the owner again for serving me after the restaurant supposed to be closed. 2 stars for the great service and 1 star for having Hu Tieu around this area where no other Vietnamese/Chinese reataurant around here have it. Like there are major rooms to be improves! It's a 4-5 stars potential restaurant! Keep it up Chieu's Kitchen! read more

This place has great food! We had the wings and chili dumplings as a starter. Amazing! The chili oil they make is so good and has so much flavor. Surprising not very spicy, which I prefer over heat. We also had Pho. We frequent Pho restaurants and so far, my favorite. It's all about the broth and they nailed it! read more

Food: Ordered a grilled pork banh mi, spicy wonton dumplings, and Vietnamese iced coffee. Banh mi was ok, but a little on the sweet side. Meat and bread were decent quality. Pickled veggies weren't very punchy, jalepenos were picked as well so no heat to the sandwich. Overpriced at $10.50. Spicy wonton dumplings had very little spice, tasted sweet and salty. Filling was dense. Iced coffee was VERY thick and sweet. Not for me. Overall food was poor value. Service: Service was quick and they use a robot cart to deliver food. Place was pretty empty at 1:00pm so I can't comment too much about service when they're busy. Ambiance: Felt very cold and sterile. It was clean and modern inside but just felt too empty for my taste. Final thoughts: Overpriced, I would not eat here again. read more

I came here about 2 days ago with my boyfriend since I was craving pho and wanted to check this place out. The pho was just ok but the broth lacked in flavor. We ordered the rare steak pho and the meat looked a lot paler than what we're used to; the color was more similar to chicken than rare steak. The soup itself was lukewarm at best instead of steaming hot like we prefer. We also ordered a grilled pork banh mi - the bread was crunchy and fresh and the meat had good flavor, however the sandwich itself was very small. The staff seemed nice but it feels more like a fast food type of establishment rather than your usual dining in experience. Our waters were never refilled the whole time we dined in and the staff only came to our table to deliver the food. The restaurant itself was clean and spacious and overall pretty quiet except for a few other tables having conversations. read more

The place is clean, smelling good, greeted by a friendly gentleman my daughter and I got the Rib pho. It came out really quick pho was huge asked the server to split in 2 he did with a hesitation. It was so delicious my daughter and I loved it. The pho was fresh, clean, smelling delicious, the vegetables were fresh as well, not like some other places the vegetables are old or stale. PHO was so big my daughter and I had leftovers, we took some home for later on. Highly recommend this place can't wait to go back and try something. Is now my favorite place to get PHO. read more

Upon first walking in, the atmosphere is very clean and welcoming - especially with the adorable little crab tank displayed by the entryway. The servers are incredibly nice and attentive, AND you're able to order food quickly and easily by scanning a QR code on your phone. We had the pork banh mi and pork/wonton pho, as well as a taro and thai milk tea - and everything was DELICIOUS. The broth had an amazing depth of flavor, the pork was perfectly cooked, and the banh mi was a perfect mixture of refreshing and savory. Truly some of the most delicious food I've had at a restaurant in a while. The food was delivered quickly, and was even brought out by an adorable little robot. This is the perfect place to grab a quick bite to eat, or sit down for a more intimate meal. I would HIGHLY recommend stopping by! read more

We were in the area during dinner time and found this restaurant with good reviews. It wasn't busy since it was almost closing time. It was spacious. The menu had a variety of items and had photos which is helpful. My husband enjoyed the Bahn mi. I ordered crispy noodles with seafood which is pricey; however, I like seafood and the photo looked appetizing. It was disappointing since the sauce was watery and tasteless. The noodles was not crispy since it was drowning in the watery sauce. The server mentioned that they only opened 2 months ago so hopefully the restaurant takes this feedback seriously. read more

This little place is so cute! Right when you walk in you are greeted by a tank of goldfish and an aesthetic brick wall lined with little plants. Everyone was super friendly and sat us down quickly. But honestly the best part was the robot that came and served us our food! I never had that experience and it made me pretty giddy watching the bot roll to us :) I ordered the wanton soup and it didn't disappoint. Most wontons I've had fall apart but these are solid and full of all the goodies you want in your wontons. My husband had the seafood egg noodle soup and he was happy he could add Sriracha because he likes it spicy. My only wish is that it came out a bit hotter but it wasn't enough to deter me from coming again. We will defiantly come back for more! read more

This place is seriously good! My husband and I have been going to their sister location in Lake Elsinore for the past couple years and they just never disappoint. This location is just as good! I'm vegetarian, and the way they fry their tofu is above and beyond any other Vietnamese restaurant that I've been to. During our recent visit to Chieu Kitchen, we were treated to an exceptional dining experience that left a lasting impression. The menu featured a delightful array of dishes, and we opted for the pork spring rolls, rare beef pho, and a pineapple smoothie. Pork Spring Rolls: The pork spring rolls were a perfect start to our meal. The rolls were fresh, crispy, and packed with flavorful pork and vegetables. Each bite was a harmonious blend of textures and tastes, setting a high standard for the rest of the meal. Rare Beef Pho: The rare beef pho was a standout dish. The broth was rich and aromatic, with a depth of flavor that spoke to hours of careful preparation. The rare beef was tender, adding a satisfying protein element to the dish. What truly set this pho apart was the absence of MSG, allowing the natural flavors to shine through. Pineapple Smoothie: To complement our meal, we enjoyed a pineapple smoothie. It was refreshing and perfectly balanced, with just the right amount of sweetness. The smoothie provided a delightful contrast to the savory dishes, making it a perfect palate cleanser. Ambiance and Dishware: The ambiance at Chieu Kitchen was inviting. The unique and elegant dishware added a touch of sophistication to our dining experience, enhancing the overall presentation of each dish. Conclusion: Chieu Kitchen offers a awesome dining experience with its delicious, MSG-free dishes and elegant presentation. We highly recommend to everyone. read more

This place has a modern, clean and spacious feel, with touches of Vietnamese decor adding to the ambiance. Staff were attentive and friendly. The robot delivering food was cool, but despite all the media hype, the food was meh and overpriced for the portion sizes. The fried salt and pepper chicken wings were disappointingly dry and overly salty. The fried tofu lacked the desired crispiness, almost seeming as if it had been fried twice. While the spring rolls were fresh, nothing else really stood out. I ordered the chicken pho, and it fell short of expectations. It lacked depth of flavor, and the portion of chicken was surprisingly small. I actually left feeling hungry, whereas at other pho spots, I usually finish the pho with no room left for the broth. read more
