The two ladies at the counter never acknowledged us when we walked in -- no hello, no smile, nothing. They just kept talking to each other. When I looked at a pair of aviator sunglasses, I politely asked if they had any similar options with a bigger frame. They both looked at each other, exchanged an annoyed, almost disgusted expression, and one of them simply said "No." That was it. No attempt to be helpful, no suggestion of other styles, not even a basic courtesy response. My sister was on the other side of the store and witnessed the interaction too. We both left feeling unwelcomed, and honestly, we sensed prejudice in the way they handled us. I've never experienced that before, but it was very clear from their demeanor. We ended up leaving and walking into Stitch & Feather right down the street, and the difference was night and day. There, we were greeted warmly, offered champagne and water while we shopped, and actually felt appreciated as customers. Shopping should never feel uncomfortable or demeaning. Unfortunately, Sunny Days left us feeling exactly that way. I will not be returning, and I hope the store's management addresses the way their staff treat people.

Although I did make a purchase today, I was disappointed with this location for a few reasons…read more #1. Not a single person greeted me or said hello. Even the person working the cash register! I saw many people working and would smile at them and they did nothing...no smile or response. #2. At checkout, I was the only person in line and waited awhile. When the employee got there she barely looked at me or said two words. She did ask me if I'm a part of the loyalty program, but she was not friendly at all. I am actually the one who asked how her day was, especially because it was so awkward standing there in total silence. #3. The dressing rooms were so hot, with the worst lighting and the music was so loud (I think that's where the speakers are or something). It was louder there than in the store. It actually made me not want to purchase anything. At the end of the day, I always think that it doesn't take too much energy to be kind and a positive customer experience goes a long way.

Apparently my legally registered service dog isn't welcome here. I've shopped at Jack's Surf Shop…read moremany times without an issue, so this was a complete surprise. The man who approached me, who I believe was the manager, told me that even service dogs weren't allowed inside. He wasn't respectful or willing to have a conversation, he simply pointed me toward the door and made it clear I needed to leave. What made the experience even more disappointing was that another customers walked out with me and shared their own negative experiences with the same manager. It's hard to understand how someone with such poor customer service is still representing the store. He's driving customers away, not bringing them in. We've visited almost all of the stores in the Hawaiian Islands and we just came from the one in San Diego the night before heading up the coast to LA. This one in Laguna Beach is right on the Pacific Coast Hwy, mere steps across the street from the beach, so it is "fitting" to sell beach themed sportswear. Vanessa was a great help in finding sizes and showing off new designs that they received that morning. Each Crazy Shirt store usually has special designs peculiar to that area. Since this is the only Laguna Beach location, I got a a painted lifeguard tower on a blue background that looks really cool. My wife got a really cute beach puppies design. The shirts are pricey, but the quality is top notch.
