One of our favorite places when we are downtown South Bend. Friendly staff. Food is consistently good. Great coffee! Love the coffee shop vibe, too.

Looking for a casual breakfast place while in town for a wedding, we found Chicory Cafe downtown. No wait for a table, we walked right in and ordered at the counter. Drinks were quickly brought to our table. Food followed not long after. Decor was warm and cozy in hues of gold, brown and burnt orange. We ordered beignets, breakfast sandwiches, biscuits and gravy, fish Po'boy and jambalaya. All were good.

Excellent food! The Cubano sandwich with pulled pork, ham, Swiss, and pickles on buttery toasted French bread was absolutely delicious. The Turtle Latte was a perfect, rich chocolatey treat. Cozy atmosphere with a nice patio option, highly recommend!

The Cobb salad was made with top notch ingredients. The carnivore me loved this salad. The older more health conscious me was disappointed by not enough lettuce. I don't want to complain about that and am even surprising myself that I am... Food came out quick. I showed up on trivia night... wouldn't recommend if you aren't doing it. Was crazy loud. With that said, if I lived here, I'd start my own team and show up.

Staff behind the ordering counter were friendly and patient, as we have never been to Chicory before. I had the Cobb salad (no bacon, no tomato) and my daughter had the Cobb as well. The Mac and cheese and other hot dishes sounded and looked great, but we were so hot from being outside all day. The Chicory is definitely a cafe-style and not an actual restaurant. You order at the counter and bring a table sign with you for your food to be brought out. The winner of this meal were the beignets. Hot, fresh, soft, puffy, perfect beignets. I will dream about these little puffs of deliciousness.

We just got back from Florida and we decided to chill out and get a room. I'm glad we found this place! For $99, it wad great!! Clean and comfortable. Friendly staff. Hot tub was a bit too hot. Pool temperature was perfect! I loved the fact that you couldn't smell any chlorine in the pool area. It didn't burn my skin or my eyes. We would definitely stay here again.

Came here as it is a family favorite. Service was friendly. Getting your food was a challenge. We ate in rotations as the food came out. I tried to order the chicken creole. I don't eat pork so that wasn't an option as it is already mixed with the chicken. I settled for the shrimp po boy which was ridiculously salty. Everyone else liked it. I tried again and got the caprese grilled cheese. Yum. My son ate half of it because his food never came out. The oven wasn't working so they refunded our money. We tried to get him a smoothie and the blender was broken. Lol. Third try and he got the Mac and cheese. He had to wait an additional 8 minutes but the dish was hot and yummy. Service was friendly. Ambiance was good. I think it was just an off day. Will definitely be back.

Super friendly staff and very welcoming to two out of towners who stumbled in 15 minutes before close! Fish Po Boy was on point, crispy fried fish that was tender and so good. Cobb salad was generous and super fresh even without the requisite bleu cheese crumbles and avocado. We will be back for more!

The food tastes good but it is very expensive. I paid $18 for half a sandwich and a 20 oz latte. for this reason, I will not go there again.

You drive up to the awning and a valet opens the gates for you to park. We had reservations. It was very crowded. I am told it's not typically that crowded. It was hard to hear it was so loud. Menu is large. Prices are higher. Be ready. I got the large chopped salad. It wasn't that large for $18. I changed out the dressing to ranch because I did not want the garlic salad dressing. Glad I did. The salad was ok. The salami was smokey it added to the veggies. But for the price it was small and disappointing. 2 people got the prime rib sandwich and it was pretty sloppy. It's better to eat with a knife and fork. I was told it was good. The sweet potato fries have cayenne pepper on them. The chopped salad with tofu was also disappointing. The tofu had a weird bbq type sauce. The server was nice and she was fine. The atmosphere is more high scale. Just disappointed in the taste of the food and portion to cost. Cool experience being on campus but you're paying for it.

Walking in, the vibe was more than fine... I'd even say a bit more elevated than a diner, with some charm. The server was welcoming and did get us started quite promptly, with our order taken within 5-10 minutes and coffee on the table 5-10 min later. Everything was downhill from there. An hour passed and we still didn't have our food. The server told us "you're next, it's coming". While something seemed off, we remained patient. Another 15 min go by, nothing. Mind you, unbenownst to the staff, we actually knew another table who arrived and sat down 15 min after us and, while they also waited a while, they finished their meal and left and we still didn't have anything. It's at least an hour and a half later, and we finally said something. Once again, "you're next, it's coming", but this time an added, "he sold your food to someone else". Aka the server either told the truth, and the restaurant made an error, or the server pawned their error on the chef. Food finally started to drop, but the order was certainly not fully accurate. Tolerable, but noticeably not accurate. Missing sides, incorrect orders, and one guest missing their whole order. At this point, we're looking to speak to a manager. The missing omelette meal finally hit the table, looking like it was whipped up in a couple minutes, on a dirty pan (think full yellow with a layer of black and oily grease). Upon cutting it up it was clear that it wasn't fully cooked. I wish I took a photo, but the "owner" took it to examine it herself and was both rude and defensive. Not one apology for any of the above. Forget about any suggestive comps or resolution. The server didn't make any eye contact once it was obvious an error was made. Genuinely, I can understand that mistakes can be made, especially during busy times. But, no excuse for the demeaned of this "owner". I put this in quotes because her behavior and response to the situation is certainly not acceptable. Maybe we had a "miss" experience. Maybe the food and service would be better next time. But due to the response of the "owner" we will not be returning and I would not recommend to anyone.
