For the inexperienced homebrewer this is a great place to start, but for experienced homebrewers the selection of ingredients is limited. There are the usual supplies of bottles, hops, barley, carboy's, etc. Where I find fault with this little shop is the fact that there is no liquid malts, only dry. While I understand that dry malt has a better self life and is cheaper in bulk, liquid malts are the preferred method of brewing beer. In fact in the last seven years of brewing beer, over eight different states and in two breweries, I have never been to a homebrew supply store and not found liquid malt. I hope that the homebrew store keeps up the good work and relax and have a homebrew.

John, the owner, is extremely knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. Although I live in El Dorado Hills and the store is about 40 mins away, it was worth the drive. Great product selection, pricing and help with any questions. Taking John's suggestions and guidance, I think I made one of the best batches of beer to date.

Prices were very reasonable, in fact, ordering on line, I would have had to order more specialty grains than needed and would have cost me much more. Also, the big on line company was out of stock on the base malt I wanted, plus over a week to ship anything in stock. John was great to talk to and I would definitely recommend them for your home brewing supplies. They also have wine and cider supplies.

Not sure if it was on "off" day for the chef but the Shepherds pie had zero flavor as if no spices or salt was used. The celery and carrots were undercooked and crunchy. There was hardly any meat and veg compared to the amount of potatoes on top. Potatoes also had no flavor of salt or butter. So bland and blech! Aside from the taste of the terrible food, the prices were way too high for the amount of food..$26 for a very small shepherds pie. There is no wait staff. You place your order at the counter. Once we ordered and paid for two shepherds pies (with the tip upfront) we found a table and sat down. The cashier then came to tell us there was only one shepherds pie left (on a Saturday at 5:30 in the evening?) and we could order something else and since we had already paid, he would give us another drink or something to offset the difference. We then ordered The Rancher. This also had hardly any filling with a puff pastry on top. Again, way overpriced at $24. We didn't get another drink to make up for the price difference. On top of all this, the Saturday evening "entertainment" was a group of senior citizens singing songs from the 50's and 60's very LOUDLY. It was a strange choice for a weekend night at a bar. Taproom coming (hopefully December 2022). Definitely will be coming back for more! I met the owner Jef, his son and their biz dev guy. Very cool chaps. Hailing from Santa Cruz County, I made a quick connection with Jef (wearing a Corralitos Brewing t-shirt). They sent me off with a couple of free samples, and I wasted no time in heading to a local fave tap house & grill (Jernigan's), for a fresh pint of BrewBilt's kolsch-style ale. Brilliant. Keep an eye on these folks, I know I will be!
