This business no longer has a proper storefront location in Redding and I was told they have not sold cigars since April 2019. Entrance to the locations is by appointment only as of July 2020. As the only homebrew shop in Redding this place is nice. The owners and staff are very friendly and offered great advice about places to find beer around town. For the inexperienced homebrewer this is a great place to start, but for experienced homebrewers the selection of ingredients is limited. There are the usual supplies of bottles, hops, barley, carboy's, etc. Where I find fault with this little shop is the fact that there is no liquid malts, only dry. While I understand that dry malt has a better self life and is cheaper in bulk, liquid malts are the preferred method of brewing beer. In fact in the last seven years of brewing beer, over eight different states and in two breweries, I have never been to a homebrew supply store and not found liquid malt. I hope that the homebrew store keeps up the good work and relax and have a homebrew. read more

Worst customer service I have had in a long time. Whoever was at the front counter couldn't even lift her head to help. I was planning on spending enough money to start a home still and complete set up from them when I walked in. I walked out with nothing because they couldn't be bothered. I asked a question and got a finger pointed in the direction I should have already known apparently. 12/22/2018 at 1230, I will never recommend this place to anyone and will mention this incident whenever it is brought up. Poor poor customer service I'm sure you all just lost a couple thousand dollar sale from me and there will be more. HR needs to teach you all how to sale stuff. read more

Thankfully Redding has NorCal Brewing Solutions so we have a place to pick up grains, hops, and yeasts locally.

I really enjoy coming to this homebrew shop. Every employee has something to offer that's unique, and insightful. They can help you build the most simple setup, or something that's high end and professional, while not coming off as pushy or salesman like. Ultimately, it's the service that keeps me coming back here, along with the wide selection of ingredients and equipment. I live approx 3-4 hours away from their retail store. Everytime I give em a ring they are always there and willing to help. I use them when my local HB store doesnt have a certain specialty item (say, yeast). Shipping is always very prompt; they are always there to save the day! Decent selection, prices are fair; highly marked up on certain items however. The employee's there are great people, knowledgeable about the craft, and very willing to help anyone that walks into the store. They deserve a raise. I've been going here for the past 2-3 years and it never ceases to amaze me how rude the owner can be. I won't go into detail, but always check your receipts here (1/5 times I get overcharged or double charged on items). Don't ever try to return a defected item, they will hassle you (not give you a full refund) and they do not trust their customers. I tried hard to like this place by returning regardless of the small quibbles; but they have officially lost my (and lot's of other brewers) business at this point. They are simply just a penny pinching business with no respect towards their customers. Online shopping and Moore's Flower Mill will now be my resources. I only rate 2 stars because of the decent selection and great employee's; they are the only thing holding this business together. read more
