Been meaning to try the hype at this restaurant since it's tucked away in Burnaby…read more Finally had the opportunity during family day long weekend. Mothers treat Due to getting manicure nails done i shyed away from trying their marinated crabs and fried chicken. Butttt i did get to try their beef tartare, unfortunately it wasn't as amazing as i hoped it was BUT aesthetics 10/10. I would have preferred for the pear to be more finely sliced instead of it being such big chunks. The dish was missing a bit of flavour. You'll know once you try. There definitely was a generous amount of beef though i do admit. Side dishes did not disappoint! Cheese corn is always a hit almost at any korean place ive been to so im very glad this dish was standard good! I would have loved the tteokboki a bit more but the rice cakes weren't as bouncy and chewy as i would like and the flavour wasn't like sunk into it. The dish was definitely spicy and there wasn't all that much cheese either. I think the stir fried chicken udon was my fave . The menu overall had a good selection and prices were pretty standard, portions are pretty big so be mindful and can easily share. Decor was cute, washroom was clean. Parking is pretty manageable. Service was 10/10. They take all payments. Restaurant is pretty small so i highly recommend you make resos if you know in advance you want to go. I plan on revisiting and trying some fried chicken next time with a soju flight.

We were welcomed at the entrance and I explained we had never been, the host took his time to explain each page of the menu and suggest a few of his favourites. We tried the Daejigalbi Platter, Sooda Fries and the Original Sooda Box. Every member of my family raved about how delicious each bite was, and there was plenty of food for all of us (maybe even too much!) the Sooba Box dish was my favourite... although I have to say the corn cheese was possibly the best I've ever tried!! The staff were attentive and so kind, the decor is cool and bright with funky little touches throughout the restaurant. It is located in the Brentwood Mall food court and is self contained with their own washrooms (I like mentioning that each stall is self contained so they are gender neutral!) We will come back for sure if we are in Burnaby again!!

I tried their Lunch Special - Jeyook rice set. For this dish, I've had better in other Korean restaurants in Vancouver. The waitress said it would be medium spicy -- it was not spicy. The sauce covered up how shredded up and fatty the pork slices were if you really looked. The flavors were just not there. The side dishes were also pretty bland for me and didn't have my usual favorites - it included shredded carrots, a mushroom-like dish, and kimchi that was not memorable. They offer some other items like Sooda Boxes and hot plates with melted cheese, etc that looks photo-worthy and probably would appeal to larger groups to share. Maybe those taste better.

Told by the wait staff, they haven't pick up steam. While perusing the menu noticed the alcohol section is crossed out?!? We ordered couple of typical dishes; Stir-fried Beef Bulgogi, Kalbi-Tang Beef Stew and Kimchi Pancakes. Price point is very reasonable. At more established joints like Hanwoori which is in the neighborhood would be 20-30% more. Friendly server who appears very helpful and cheerful. Food was delicious. Recommend this. Would come again if in the neighborhood.

Korean place on Edmonds between Kingsway and Canada Way…read more Parking is available in the strip mall lot. Also lots of street parking in the area. The place is bare bones. Feel a bit like a warehouse, with the metal frames in the ceiling. Staff were friendly and helpful. Banchan - 3 types. Kimchi, pickled turnip, bean sprouts in sauce. Decent. Tteokbokki - rice cakes in sweet spicy sauce. Came with some slices of pickled vegetables and a boiled egg. Not mushy or anything. Fried chicken - nice and crispy. This place actually beats out several other (dedicated) Korean fried chicken places. Special mention. Beef bulgogi - skillet is smaller than normal. Friends and I were disappointed. Taste was fine though. Round platter - came with 6 rice balls (some seaweed and pickled vegetables mixed inside), 5 pieces of what looked like some sort of bean curd or egg cake, and some cheesy meat (pork?) mix inside. Overall my friends and I were happy, other than the small bulgogi platter. Wouldn't mind coming back at some point, though there are other options (including Korean food) in the area.

Was a bit strange to have matcha sprinkled on the side but no matter, the shrimp was yummy. They don't take reservations but there's a QR code by the front entrance to register for the waiting list and the list shows on a TV screen. Arrived at 6:30pm on a Friday and the place was packed. For a table for 2, we ended up waiting approximately 15 minutes for a table and also saw several pick up orders. Menu is not extensive and as it was both our visits, we decided to order the Kkanpunggi Combo for $56 that includes Black Bean Noodle, Chili Seafood Noodle, and Spicy Sweet and Sour Deep Fried Chicken. The chicken arrived first and it was an enormous portion! Chicken was fresh, lightly battered, had good flavour that wasn't overly coated in sauce, and was served with nice tasty taro chips. Black bean noodles was also a good sized and delicious. The chili seafood noodles was also a very generous portion - we ordered it medium spicy but I personally thought it was mild though flavourful. Service was a bit slow, even though we pressed the button a few times. However, tasty food with big portions and reasonable prices is hard to beat these days! $56 for 3 dishes and more than enough leftovers, would definitely return and recommend.
