It's not like a boot camp chow hall but more of a casual BBQ spot where you can spin on a sweet tea and enjoy some ribs. The restaurant is decorated with items from all branches of the military as well as the local police and fire department. It's nice to see there's pride for the Armed Forces as well as the people who serve and protect. I stopped in for lunch. I know I'm going to BBQ the next day so I pass on the brisket and I ordered the grilled shrimp. The counter person tells the the cook one order of Grilled Shrimp and in about a minute I had my plate. I grabbed a sweet tea, sat in a booth and enjoyed my lunch. Mission BBQ? That was a fantastic lunch! The shrimp was cooked perfectly and was very tasty. Mike Charlie

Mission BBQ seems to be a fast growing chain. I have enjoyed their food in Cincinnati, Connecticut…read moreand New York. The prices seem a little too high for the portions received. Last time I ordered the three meat sampler for $22. There were two small pieces of brisket (each about 2 inches long) two small slices of sausage and a cup size of pulled pork. This price did not include sides. The service is great and the atmosphere is typical of all other Mission BBQ I have been in but this location seems to be more strict on portion control. I see everything being measured on the scale which is not a bad thing, every business needs to make money but in my opinion the price did not justify the meal. Pulled pork was great, brisket was moist and tender and the extra sides I ordered were good so no problem with the food.

So, the "open" sign is finally turned on, and my mom and I come up. I ordered first, but then my mom tried to order cajun rice, and the employee said they didn't have it. What? This is Popeyes right? That has always been a menu staple! We said nevermind and walked away. Find a Popeyes that's managed properly. Not this one.

This is what I'd been waiting for to try my first Popeyes chicken sandwich that everyone has raved about. Since I couldn't decide whether to try the Classic or the Spicy, I ordered both ($3.99 each). I had just finished over 2 miles of mall walking, it was 5 o'clock, dinner time, so I figured I could handle two sandwiches. I was definitely stuffed when I was done. I watched the chicken sandwich Meister at his own station building each sandwich. The rolls are separated in half and toasted, then each half is spread with either their regular mayonnaise or spicy mayonnaise depending on whether the order is Classic or Spicy. A couple of pickle slices are placed on the roll's bottom half, the fried chicken portion is then added and topped with the other roll half. The sandwiches are then individually packed into insulated bags. It's interesting that by the time I finished eating the first sandwich, which was nice and hot when removed from its insulated bag, at one of the food court tables, the second had cooled considerably. It was only slightly warm, its coating still very crispy, but slightly less moist than the first sandwich. Because of this, it seemed like the portion of the breast meat was too thick. Yet, I didn't notice this phenomenon while eating the first sandwich even though that breast piece was of similar size and thickness. The level of spiciness in the Spicy sandwich was acceptable, but it didn't seem to add any additional flavor like jalapeños do. I'm obviously not a fried chicken sandwich aficionado. It was tasty and a good value, but I don't see myself rushing to have another anytime soon. I'm thinking, however, that a fried chicken thigh sandwich could be very interesting!
