1 week old Americauna chicks (I think)

Knowledgeable owner, chicks are healthy. I'm glad we came here. In the middle of a chick frenzy, he sold out within maybe 30 minutes of opening on a Saturday morning. People were buying up the silkies and the marans

Chicks!

They are so nice here. My daughter and I bought 5 chickens from him. Very cool farm and great looking chicks!

Baby silkies!

We love our baby silkies!! It's only day 3, but everyone seems happy, healthy, and alert! They mixed nicely with our 2 week old Egger chicks and it's so cute watching them all cuddle. It was great working with Russell too - he's been in the chicken biz for decades so he knows his stuff! Their set up for the brooders and coops is pretty awesome and clean. It's a nicely run family operation over there! But be aware, no reservations for chicks really as they usually sell out day of. We kept trying to make an appt or set some aside, but your best bet is to call Friday (day after hatch day) and get there as soon as they open (~4pm). We waited a week or two before we were able to get our silkies, but well worth the wait so far

I've purchased 11 hens and I love them all. I live closer to Malibu Chicken feed (11 miles) but I'd rather travel 47 miles to chickens galore. Looking forward to getting more hens this spring. Thank You!

We have become backyard chicken owners! So far so good. We bought a total of 5 hens. Two of them died early. The first one that died we called and they let us choose another one. When the second one died we didn't bother to go back. The hen just didn't grow and seemed pretty small. I think it was a bad choice on our part. We are happy with the three we have now. They are doing well. They do have a lot of breeds! So if you are looking for chickens, I'd suggest going here! The people were nice and helpful.

We went today to see their baby chickens. Russel was very friendly and so informational. All of his chickens were well taken care of and so beautiful. My family was so happy to leave with 11 chickens. We got a few different breeds and will definitely be back for more. Thank you for a great experience with our family

Chicken coop & Silkies

Russell is super knowledgeable about chickens. His setup is clean and fun to see all the chickies. Very family friendly. We've ordered a couple batches of Silkies from him. We've had them for a few months. So far everyone is growing and healthy. We even ended up ordering a coop for our girls! Love to support a local farm.

He consistently has not only common but some more rare breeds. Love taking the drive out there.

What I do have is a 2 year old granddaughter who has a fascination for pretty fish in fancy aquariums. This is not a strip mall pet store. We took her just to look. Didn't buy anything. We were simply amazed at the volume of related merchandise and vast displays of beautiful tropical fish and anemones, live aquatic plants, to name a few. You will find some very exotic specimens in many sizes and colors, with prices to match. We felt welcome and free to roam, looking at all their displays. This place is definitely a great resource for collectors.

I had went in when they first opened shop and it had only saltwater on the left, now they have expanded the right side of the store to freshwater and I am pretty excited about that. As someone who only works with freshwater, it's really exciting to have a local store instead of supporting big chains like petco and petsmart. I'm really looking forward to the day I get to stop by and choose my betta for my new set up! I also wanted to include that they have a few nano tank setups on display with some cute shrimp and some guppies! They have just about the same inventory as a chain store that you would buy from, if anything, more than that! The bettas were listed as $20 but I'm not sure if that applies to all of them on display. I was a bit sad when I saw them because their tails weren't in the best condition however, this might just be the way they were shipped. Whatever it is, it can be fixed with a bit of love and care!

After I got him home, I noticed that his ear had also been cut during the grooming. Which I will share a photo of this. What concerns me most, however, is the change in his behavior since coming home. He is not himself at all. He has been constantly licking his paws, legs, body, and rear area. He seems uncomfortable sitting, doesn't want to walk around or play, isn't wagging his tail like he normally does, and keeps isolating himself in his bed. He also had very little interest in eating or drinking. As his owner, this is extremely upsetting because he cannot tell me whether he is hurting, burning, itching, or experiencing some other type of discomfort. I know my dog and I know his normal personality, and this is not his normal behavior. I did speak with the manager, and I want to acknowledge that she was helpful and worked with me regarding the grooming fees, which I appreciate. My concern at this point is much bigger than the cost. I'm concerned about my dog's well-being and what may have happened during the grooming process to cause such a dramatic change in his behavior. I hope PetSmart takes situations like this seriously and ensures that groomers are extremely careful with the animals entrusted to them. Our pets are family, and when they come home acting completely different and unable to tell us what hurts, it is heartbreaking and frightening.

He was kind, courteous, and helpful. He helped me select fish that would work well together in my tank. I wanted live plants, and he helped with that as well. They didn't have enough of the plants I wanted, so he asked for my phone number so he could call when they were available. The next week, the plants did not arrive, so he called to make sure I did not waste time going to the store to check whether they were there. The following week, he called to inform me they were there. Upon my arrival, I watched him closely as he inspected the plants and picked the healthiest batch for me. That's above and beyond for me, and I notice things like that. Thank you, and hats off to "Jed"!

Staff is always welcoming and friendly. I always walk by to see any of the kitties just to say hello. Was a bit sad that there was just 1 solo cat. Which would be good being that there's no other cats there that need to be adopted but still made me sad the kitty was all by her lonesome self. That would be one thing I would recommend to this store, not having just 1 solo animal for adoption available. Parking for this store is pretty good, always a spot available on the side or the front of the store.

When I first moved to this neighborhood, I tried shopping around at all the different stores, but it ultimately became clear to me that Hay Connection offers the very best product quality and best customer service yet also does this all for very reasonable prices, so there is simply no point in going anywhere else! Everyone there is always so genuinely friendly and helpful and wants the best for you and your animals. Whenever I need advice or guidance, they go above and beyond. There was one time I was having an earwig infestation problem at the house that had absolutely nothing to do with Hay Connection but I happened to mention it in passing at the store, and one of the employees (Karen) actually took it upon herself to research the issue and called me back to give me some very good advice to try! I was so grateful!! If you shop and pick up in-store, they have a very generous rewards program via a stamp card! Also, I think the first Saturday of each month is a double-stamp day so it's easy to rack up points! As for home deliveries, is so easy to schedule even for same-day or next-day service. The delivery guys are all so nice and helpful, and will cheerfully stack, move, and re-tie any bales that I ask for! There were a few weeks in the beginning when I had first moved into the house when we needed the hay dollied by hand quite a long distance from where they could park their truck as the horse driveway wasn't accessible yet, but the drivers never complained and always did it with a smile. That says a lot about how they treat their customers, because moving hay long distances in the inland empire heat is no small matter!! Now that I am a regular customer, I seem to have been assigned to a specific driver, so it's nice to always get to see the same person, as he already knows where to put everything without my having to explain it to a new person over and over again (unless I happen to order on his day off, but I try to avoid that)! And whenever I call to place an order, I am always cheerfully greeted and they even remember who I am from just my first name! I've had deliveries every 3 weeks from them for over a year now, and the very few times there have ever been issues (usually accidental billing mistakes), they either take it upon themselves to correct the issue (ie, they find the mistake before I've even noticed and then call to let me know) or are happy to correct the mistake if I call them. It is so refreshing to be able to work with caring, honest people! Most importantly, they have a large selection of different types of hay and their hay quality is consistently high--leafy, fine-stemmed, and mold- and insect-free, and they store it under a real, permanent roofed structure so it is not sun-bleached or otherwise exposed to the elements--and they somehow always manage to keep it in stock no matter what season it is. My horses are happy, and they are extremely picky mares when it comes to hay! In summary, I am very grateful to have found Hay Connection and am a very happy customer! If we ever move to a different horse property, I will make sure to remain in their service area!!
