I have been going to Petco for years because of the quality of service, cleanliness, fish, and supplies. I was recently at the store to stock my aquarium and was assisted by "Jed". He was kind, courteous, and helpful. He helped me select fish that would work well together in my tank. I wanted live plants, and he helped with that as well. They didn't have enough of the plants I wanted, so he asked for my phone number so he could call when they were available. The next week, the plants did not arrive, so he called to make sure I did not waste time going to the store to check whether they were there. The following week, he called to inform me they were there. Upon my arrival, I watched him closely as he inspected the plants and picked the healthiest batch for me. That's above and beyond for me, and I notice things like that. Thank you, and hats off to "Jed"! read more

This is a great PETCO to visit when I'm in the area. When we have come to this PETCO, all items we have come for are in stock. The store is organized and clean. Staff is always welcoming and friendly. I always walk by to see any of the kitties just to say hello. Was a bit sad that there was just 1 solo cat. Which would be good being that there's no other cats there that need to be adopted but still made me sad the kitty was all by her lonesome self. That would be one thing I would recommend to this store, not having just 1 solo animal for adoption available. I'm so thankful I found this grooming salon at Petco Mira Loma. My doodles had experienced bad cuts trauma that landed us at the Vet $$$$ due to last groomer. So I was Leary But Daniel at Petco Grooming has been amazing. I'll never take my dog to Petco grooming again. When I picked up my dog, coco after her grooming appointment I knew something wasn't right. She was her usual excited self when she came out, instead she whimpered, quiet, and subdued. This behavior only continued once we got home. She's usually excited and ready to get out and will beat me to the door eager to get inside, instead, she quiet walked to the door and sat waiting for me. Thinking she must of just had a rough/stressful visit, I gave her her favorite treat, but she just looked at it and then quietly walked to her bed and laid there. I decided to call Petco and ended up speaking to the grooming manager, I didnt get her name, I asked if there was an incident or accident that I needed to be aware of, she stated there wasn't anything she was aware of. I explained what was going on and expressed that this was not Coco's typical behavior, she said that it was extremely busy that day and that there were several loud barking dogs so Coco might just be stressed. A couple of days later we discovered these bruises. Thankfully after a trip to the Vet nothing was broken and she has slowly returned back to her normal self. I attempted to contact the grooming manager again, once I was told she was in and I left me message. The 2nd time, I left a voice message and still haven't heard back. I'll never go back and anyone that does needs to be careful. They're either really harsh with the dogs or negligent. read more

Pretty bad grooming service experience here today at Petco. I dropped off my dog at 11.20 am in the morning and was told I could pick up the dog in about 1.5-2 hours. At the time of drop off, I wasn't told any policies about that I must pick up the dog within X hours of drop off, otherwise I would be charged $10/hour. At about 1 pm, I got a call that my dog is ready for pickup. Being a working day, I couldn't get out of work until 5 pm. I got a call from a lady groomer again at 4.30 pm, who was extremely rude who started yelling that we are not a daycare and that I must pick up the dog within 4-5 hours of drop-off otherwise I must pay the kennel fee of $10/hour. I told her that I wasn't told this information at the time of check-in and this information must be told to the customer before hand. However, the lady kept being rude and I also lost my patience on why she is coming up with policies on the fly, and such a policy must be disclosed at the time of checking the dog in. It's not about the extra $10/hour, but it's but properly disclosing information so that customer knows what they are getting into. Owner should talk to the lady groomer on how to speak with customers. I did leave a 5$ tip on top of $102 that Petco charges for just a bath and shed release as I didn't know if the groomer and the rude lady that called me were the same person or not. Still, they lost my business and I'm not going back. Writing this review for others who might be considering this location for their pet grooming needs. read more

If I could I would leave 0 stars. First off the groomers look like they hate their job and have such horrible attitudes. I thought it was just the guy at the front guest I decided to trust the people inside. Pls don't. My baby is 5 months old. Has been getting groomed since she turned 4 months. This was her 4th grooming session. She usually does so good & she comes out excited and happy and full of energy. this time was different. She seemed scared and was crying the whole car ride home & at home just laying there. Not to say I had a discussion with the groomers because they swear they did not trim my puppies hair when I can clearly tell they did and her hair is uneven. Great Pyrenees should not have fur trimmed like that! The parts they should've trimmed they didn't. Picked her up with all her long dirty fur on her paw pads still intact and her ear hair no slight trim or anal trim. Which I had gotten done prior at Corona Petco and was part of the plan. Here they said "oh if you didn't tell us to at the front desk then we don't do it" excuse me? It's a part of my plan. I am paying you to do everything included. You don't pick and choose what to do. I had them do her paw pads at least before I left and they trimmed them in about a minute and almost shaved too much on them. She also tried dragging my pup inside dragging her across their dirty floors right after she had just gotten cleaned!! I had to stop her and she offered to pick her up instead I was like??? My pup had never been more afraid of a groomer. Her paws still look dirty. She had some dirt still stuck. Her fur looks unevenly trimmed. Which should not have been trimmed at all!! After reading these other reviews I'm scared they mistreated my girl as well. She's always done so good at other groomers and they always love her and want her back. This time was horrible. If you love your pets don't make the mistake I did. I needed a fast appt and chose to come and trust them here. Not to mention right after I dropped off my pup someone else came to tell them abt how they cut his dogs fur and had them fix it. Should've been my sign to take my girl home. As per Petco's Business Customer Service requested, I called the phone number they listed within 12 hrs of their response. The staff member who answered went to speak with someone and returned to inform me that "we wouldn't have asked you to call us because we don't see the Yelp reviews" (lack of training and understanding of how the Petco corporation handles reviews) and that there was no manager (it was 11 am) at the store until 2 pm because the previous store manager moved to Colorado and hadn't been replaced yet (Petco corporation clearly not providing the necessary support to their staff). I was promised a call by the assistant store manager, Vivian, at 2 pm. That was 3 days ago and I still haven't heard from anyone. So, I repeat, I encourage Petco to train their staff more thoroughly AND provide adequate staffing, including a Manager, at all times. Repeated disregard and poor service are a terrible business model. read more

I've been coming to this particular Petco for about 3 1/2 years. I should have kept a better eye on there reviews and Stars on this App. I'm so disappointed in Jennifer and Harmony with the grooming Staff. I received messages throughout the day asking if it was Ok to bring my Dog Max in for cut and shampooing. We recently adopted Max from a family that adopted him through a foundation that was connected with Petco. That's what it says on his Paperwork. It was very difficult to find an appointment that suited my availability, Plus the schedule was booked for 2 weeks. During these text messages Harmony from grooming started bringing up excuses that it wasn't gonna be ample time to honor my appointment. Then why would your app give me this time an availability. I completely understood that there are issues with Dogs and temperaments, That's something Harmony assumed from the get go. My dog is very calm and is not aggressive it's 19 lbs.She continued on with excuses throughout this exchange which i thought was very strange. If you can't accommodate and honor your appointments and the appointment times you give your customers, Why have a schedule. My last text back on this thread was that I would see them at my appointment time.Then I got a cancellation notice 2 minutes. Are these companies policies. To me it sounded they just didn't want to stay til 6 on a Saturday evening. That's not my Problem. I'm ending my relationship with Petco. The technicians are all really polite and courteous, always give good customer support, and the little animal comes out looking like the princess that she is. Interestingly, the princess we didn't know was a poodle because she was a rescue, and was covered with awful things when we found her. We had to keep her shaved for about 6 months so her skin would heal. When we could let her hair grow it was another 6 months before we even knew she was a poodle. read more

One of the most disappointing and heartbreaking experiences we've ever had. If you're considering where to take your beloved pet during their final moments, please look elsewhere. Trust me--you won't regret it. Let me explain. Our dog, due to declining health, needed to be put down. We scheduled the appointment with Petco over four weeks in advance. Just a few days before the scheduled date, we received a call stating they had run out of the medication required for the procedure and needed to reschedule. Heartbreaking, but we understood--and we did. Fast forward to the new appointment. Our time was set for 3:30 PM. After spending the day creating final memories with our pup and preparing our family to say goodbye, we were loading into the car when the phone rang--just 30 minutes before our scheduled time. It was Petco again. This time, they told us their freezer had been down for several days, and they were hoping it would be fixed but unfortunately would need to reschedule again. To say we were shocked is an understatement. This isn't a grooming appointment or a routine check-up. This was a deeply emotional and final moment for our family. The lack of foresight, empathy, and professionalism was staggering. Not once--but twice--we were forced to reschedule our pet's euthanasia due to internal issues that could have and should have been communicated far earlier. Fortunately, a single phone call to a veterinary clinic just up the street restored our faith. They took us in immediately, treated our family with compassion, and handled the situation with the respect and care it deserved. To Petco: this was more than a missed appointment. It was a failure in compassion, communication, and basic human decency. You need to do better. A lot better. We will never return to this location. read more

This review is for the grooming dept. I have been to almost all groomers in riverside, Norco and Corona. By far Petco is always the most impressive and that goes for multiple locations. Today I left the Eastvale location and again I am Thoroughly impressed. Brianna bathed and brushed my mini red poodle, Ollie. He leaves here smelling the best of all groomers and the fluffiest. I notice some other groomers leave him barely scented if at all, hair a little dry feeling and he's always itchy. But Petco checks all the boxes for me and not to mention they are not as expensive as the prissy salons who don't do as good of a job. That's it. It's only Petco from now on. This is a bigger Petco than normal. They have a big variety of things for my pup both in food and non food and they stock Purina pro plan in almost all the varieties. Training I signed my Labrador puppy for training with Megan and I couldn't be any happier. She knows her stuff and took care of training Stetson as if he was her own. Always super flexible with scheduling and make-up classes when needed since I have a very dynamic schedule. Veterinary Dr. Heskett (I'm sorry if I butchered your name, doc), Taylor and the rest of the vet team always made sure my puppy was up to date on all his immunizations and was taken care of when he gets sick - and he gets sick a lot. Grooming Since I'm mostly lazy and don't want to worry about grooming at home, I bring my dog in here for regular grooming and the team always make sure he's comfortable while he's getting freshened up. They even gave me a few tips on how to work with my dog to get him accustomed to getting his nails trimmed. Overall I'm glad I have this Petco near where I live. read more

Checked in today and experienced truly exceptional Service from Jacob! Right when I walked in Jacob was hustling hard and putting merchandise into place and keeping a fast and focused momentum. I asked him where the Puppy snacks were and Jacob listened carefully to the brands I was looking for and walked me over to their Treats section! He had such an open and enthusiastically helpful vibe to him that really made me feel at ease and at Home ready to explore all the different treasures in the Petco Cave :0) I liked how the Treats section had clear and organized Clearance labels! I was able to buy some really fun and interesting Snacks for my Puppy Princes and such a great markdown and Jacob helped me check out at the Register too. I love how he made sure to help me log in my phone number and asked me to help donate for good causes in a kind and encouraging but not pushy tone. When I did choose to donate Jacob made sure to warmly thank me for my contributions from the Heart too! He is such a Stylishly Cool and Soulful Gentleman and truly a terrific Brand Ambassador for the Company! I like how Petco has a very organized and neatly labeled Cart System too so I know where to get clean carts and were the used Carts go after I am done! The Art on the Walls encouraging us to love and treasure our Animal Friends is so Heartwarming too, as well as the Hand drawn picture on the Blackboard informing us of all the great blood pressure lowering and oxytocin raising benefits of building strong and healthy bonds with our dogs :0) Favorite Sign of all is the one in the Front that says "Pets, please keep your Parents leashed" hahahaha!! It was my puppy's first time getting groomed here . I paid for the vital care because I figured it would be easy to get vaccines and grooming done in the same place yesterday at 8 am my dog had his grooming appointment, but no one showed up until 8:30 am that should have been my sign to get my dog and leave, but I stayed. The worker apologized to me. She recommended that I get the deluxe package because it was his first time, and she wanted to see if he would have a negative reaction to the hair dryer. If he did, then she should recommend not to get him trimmed down that day, which I agreed to. At 9:22 am I got a call stating that he had a positive reaction and she could go ahead and trim him down. We discussed styles and hung up . At 10:20, I received a call from the manager telling me that my dog had been nipped . I understand that accidents happen, and they took care of all the medical costs, but as I was leaving, she stated, "All these dramatic for a small cut," which I believe to be super unprofessional. My dog had gotten blood all over me. He was clearly traumatized. As a manager, you should never make a comment like that. Maybe she does not care for her animals but adores mine, and this has been such a heartbreaking experience for me. I will never let them groom any of my animals or family members. It just made me think that they were rushing because a groomer didn't show up to work, and now they had extra dogs to groom. I was so upset that I can't even remember her name. We have been to several other groomers within a 15mile radius and honestly, petco does the best job with our fur babies! Noah is amazing! He takes great care of our pups. They take their time and make sure you leave satisfied with the service you paid for. Every time we pick up our puppies, they leave happy, clean and look very well groomed. We typically pay 100 for two dogs. We have a corgi and a beagle. We usually get the standard bath and deshed treatment for the corgi and bath and teeth cleaning for the beagle. They offer lots of promos and coupons if you download the petco app (highly recommend). We've been to a few different groomers within our area and although they look clean as well, the scent doesn't last as Iong and the service is really quick. We love taking them to petco because we can drop our dogs off and leave them for a few hours at the spa. Once we pick them up their relaxed, calm and looking amazing! I needed to get my dog a cone of shame and Petco only had the $30 plus type and not the inexpensive $10 ones. My dog has been going to this location for his grooming ever since he was a puppy . The groomers have been awesome and great at their job. However the latest experience with their groomer ' Jay Dawg ' who tended to my dog last week . This has been the worst grooming experience . When I went to pick up my dog after grooming , Jay Dawg said that my dog was bleeding from a gash on his head that he got because of anxiety inside the kennel . Are you kidding me ? ' there isn't a kennel that I have ever seen that has sharp hair objects which could cut the top of your dog's head . Jay Dawg should have manned up and told me that this happened while grooming him . After coming home I found that my dog had multiple cuts on the side of both ears because this guy trimmed those areas down to the skin layer that I did not ask for . Overall there is nothing wrong with this store or the other folks who work here . But one rotten apple like this groomer has left me with a bad feeling and left me thinking about returning for future grooming needs . read more

Their grooming department is horrible. Absolutely horrible. I took my two dogs and on my way out of the car one of them ran off. I freaked out and chased after him. I put him back in the car and grabbed my other dog. I was panicking from what had happened. I ran inside thinking I can leave her inside and rush to go get my other dog. I didn't feel comfortable leaving him unattended in the car. I go in and one of the ladies asked if she was vaccinated. I said yes she is. I have it I just need to go get my other dog I left unattended. She said ok and another lady said we need to see vaccination. I said i understand I just need to rush and get my other dog. My mind was on my dog in the car and I was still shaky from what happened when he took off running in the parking lot. It took me less than a minute to go get my other dog and when I get back one of them was really angry saying you can't do that we have a policy saying we can't touch your dog because we need vaccination. I understand the policy but I didn't do it intentionally. I was having an emergency. I had proof I would have not even taken my dogs if they weren't vaccinated. I also knew I needed to rush back because they needed the vaccination proof. So rude and I really needed help. So I got them back and got them out of there. I took them to another groomer. The other groomer was so nice and they even helped me get them out of the car and to put them back in. Never going back for grooming at petco. read more

I see so many reviews for poor customer service, but I've honestly never had an issue with staff. I enter and get greeted with a smile. I walk around the store to get pet supplies for my cat and reptiles, and I'm approached by staff at least once asking if I need help. And when I check out, the cashiers have always been friendly and helpful. We went here, a little less than a month ago, and purchased some new stuff for my daughters cat. While we were there, my other younger daughter, wanted a Guinea pig. Chad was helpful the whole time, and even made some suggestions, about what we should get, and what we needed. Fast forward to 3 weeks later...The poor guinea passed, and my daughter was distraught. I remember him saying something about the guinea having a 30 day warranty on it. I called, they said to "bring it in, or have a small funeral for it and bury it." and I could get my FULL REFUND! WOW!! How awesome is that? I opted to take it back. Chad helped us out again, and asked if I wanted a refund, I declined and told him I wanted another Guinea for my Daughter...We picked one out, signed some paperwork, made a few other purchases, and we were out the door in less than 20 minutes!!
